Rei - Solo RP & Special Missions

Holly looks at Rei. "This seems like a very uptight town. Not to mention very strict on their rules. I'm not sure what you were expecting to find."

Holly shrugs, not sure what plant seeds have to do with anything.

Rei starts to head towards the castle, noticing it is heavily guarded (as it rightly should be as the seat of government). At the outer gate, she is stopped by the guards.

"Halt! State your names and business within the Castle."

"I've never heard of you, 'Rei Leeda'. Let's see your papers." He holds out his hand, expectantly. It's clear that Rei needs some kind of written permission to either prove she's a crown-affiliated researcher, or to prove she has access to the castle proper. Even if only the main hall + basement. Perhaps Doctor Calthor could help her?

"Right..." the guard mutters as Rei walks away.

It takes several hours, and many wrong turns before Team Reilly at last come upon the address that Doctor Calthor gave to Rei all that time ago. She knocks on the door multiple times before a voice suddenly shouts from...the doorway?

"What is it?!" The obviously irritated voice demands. Suddenly, an image of the good doctor appears before Rei, projected by some unseen device. "Yes? What do you want, young lady? I'm a very busy man." Naturally he can't be expected to remember Rei's face after meeting her all of once nearly two months ago.

"I already have an assistant performing that very task, but I suppose it couldn't hurt to have more assistants. It's a big place, and my current assistant has this unfortunate habit of becoming easily distracted. If you think you're up to the task, I'll write you up a day pass." He begins. "A day pass, as the name suggests, allows you access for a single day. Twenty-four hours, to be precise. After that, the device I shall give you to go with the pass will begin to make noises to indicate your time is up." He pauses a moment, considering what else needs to be said. "Oh, and one more thing: The device is only a time-keeper. It has no other functions. If you and my other assistant can return with something interesting, I'll consider acquiring a more permanent pass for you. The permanent one takes time to acquire, as I must sift through the legal process. Is everything clear?" He awaits Rei's response.

"Very good then. One moment, please." The projected images shimmers and fades, and then a slot on the doorway spits out a pair of day passes to the castle basement. One each for Rei and Holly. The image reappears briefly to inform you that those papers are the day passes you need to gain entrance. He also gives Rei a description of his assistant so she can identify them should they cross paths. After that, he bids you good day and the image vanishes, signalling an end to the conversation.

Holly is as curious as Rei is to find out what's down there, so she eagerly follows along. Who knows, maybe she'll even find out more about the Honedge line of Pokemon. For the longest time, she thought hers was the only one, then she learned about the Knights of Kanto, and how it's their primary partner. The guard from before is still on duty, and seems quite surprised to not only see Team Reilly again, but with passes in hand, even if only temporary ones.

If the exterior of the palace was grandiose, then the interior is beautiful beyond comprehension. The main hall alone is filled with literal knights in shining armor flanking a carpet that is probably worth more than everything Rei has ever owned combined and then some. Holly's eyes practically bug out of her head at the sight of it all and her jaw hangs open as the guard escorts the two of you to the basement entrance just outside of the fanciful main hallway.
