"Uh, Tiki, might not want to startle them." Clay's curious, too, but he remembers the edge on that sword. Honedge, whatever.
Tentatively, he asks, "Were you talking to it just now?" It sure looked like they were communicating somehow. Granted, he makes noise when he talks to Pokémon, but neither Holly nor her Honedge make a lot of noise on their own. He wouldn't be surprised if they can talk silently.

So that explains it.
Rei eyes the two as they communicate, wondering if she should write notes about this for her new 'job' later, but decides against it. Would be just a tad of an invasion of privacy.
"Is your sister bonded to something as well? I don't remember seeing anything like your 'honedge' with her."

"Sister? She has something, but I don't remember it. She doesn't call on it often, preferring to use her own abilities when she has to fight. It looked kinda like her, though. Sister says that us Hybrids often look similar to the Pokemon we're bonded with."
Being near Rei seems to have helped calm Holly down. She glances over at Rei again. "Ummm.. I have.. more.. ghosts.. if you want to see? Wasn't that why you came to Swamp?"

Clay is sounding out the word "ghost" quietly to himself. "Oh! Like... okay, that makes sense." This probably doesn't quite make sense to anyone outside Clay's head, but he's finally actually figured out what that word means outside the context of "ghost lights".
He kind of wants to ask how the Hybrid thing works, but he doesn't want to overwhelm Holly. Besides, she might not even know - after all, he's still not really sure how his own unusual talent works. In fact, he's less sure than he was a few days ago. "New Pokémon are always pretty cool to see! I never saw any ghosts before we visited the swamp. I think there are some that live in other places but none where I grew up."

Holly wordlessly produces a battered apricorn ball from inside her coat and taps the button. The energy materializes as a small, pumpkin-like Pokemon.
"Kabo!" It shrieks in greeting.

Even Clay smiles a little at the tiny pumpkin-looking thing. "Hey there, little guy. Don't worry, we're friends." His vocalizations are more like hissing, popping Litwick sounds than anything else - he hasn't got a good grasp on ghostly dialects yet to get closer to pumpkin-ghost sounds.

The little pumpkin sounds quite cheerful, and quickly accepts the rest of the group as allies. To further this friendship, it tells Clay that he should be very careful around the Honedge, as it will cut first and ask questions never. Meanwhile, it also twirls around Rei's extended arm, touching it with its somewhat cold..er.. 'handle'? Vine-top-thing? Whatever you'd call that thing sticking out of its head where the original pumpkin was attached to the vine.
"Pumpkaboo!" it shrieks.

Holly blushes at the thought, seemingly oblivious of the fact that her Pumpkaboo just zipped out through the wall to explore (or something).
"D-do you think I should?" Rei gets the feeling that these are probably the only clothes she's worn for the past several years, considering they look a bit small on her. Sitting next to her reveals that despite her paleness, she's also pretty much caked in a layer (or ten) of mud and dirt from the swamp. Hell, brown might not even be her natural hair color if there's as much mud on her as there seems to be. It's difficult to tell. She looks at you questioningly, as if the thought of having other clothes never crossed her mind before.

"I don't want to force anything on you that you might not want, especially if you don't want to do 'human' things too soon, or at all."
Rei scoots a bit closer, running some the edges of the dirty clothing through her hands.
"But if you are staying, I'd hate to see you uncomfortable if I can help fix it! I'm sure I or Tiki would be happy to give you stuff if you want. Especially after you gave me the Reaper Cloth!"

Tiki protests, "Getting squeaky clean is not a waste! Hmmm...If she isn't comfortable around other people, in a hour or two, we should have full reign of the bath to ourselves! We can teach Holly all about the wonders of taking a bath!.....But not you." She points at Clay, coldly.

Clay sticks his tongue out at Tiki. "Yeah, I coulda figured that part out. Go easy on her, huh? She lives where all the water has stuff in it that wants to kill you. If the river back in the troop's territory was full of electrical fish, I wouldn't wanna swim in it, either." Clay's general impression of bathing is still "like swimming, but with soap" even after all this time.
