Mimicking his brother's grandiose flair in a playful, yet hushed tone, "call it destiny, call it fate, call it random happenstance," returning his focus to the pokemon in the distance, and his pokedex aimed at them, "they're there; that's good enough for me!"
Genki felt the call of his empty poke balls just itching to take on residents.

"Go for it," says Aiden as he makes his way towards Genki and the Pokemon they had found.

"I'll assist, but I'll hold off on the capture. I needn't make my friend jealous of another avian companion." Cole patted Gustav again, who seemed to appreciate the gesture. He did not feel these bird Pokemon tug on his soul. Without that connection, he didn't feel the need to capture them. Better that they live free, or with a trainer who calls to them.

Genki's Pokédex pinged as it registered the shapes in front of the trainers, then it spent a moment with an illuminated blank screen working. A few seconds later it pinged, quietly, displaying each of the species in turn. "Starly: The Starling Pokémon. Starly usually flock together in large groups due to their weakness. Their usual habitats are the mountains and fields of the Sinnoh region, chasing Bug-Types and singing noisily and annoyingly." It paused for a second, then switched images, "Taillow: The Tiny Swallow Pokémon. Taillow are strong, defiant and gutsy; it migrates to avoid cold weather. It cries noisily when hungry, especially if it hasn't eaten its favourite food: Wurmple. They spend their summers in the Hoenn region."

"Ok! Let's see what we can do, Im going to catch me some of these birds to study them a little closer..." raising Prima's pokeberry to his face, "what do you say we surprise them with a little bubble attack, Prima?"Genki studied the fluttering birds for a moment longer trying to gage the ideal moment when most of the birds were clustered on the ground. 'Ok, time to show my stuff, see if I really am any good at catching pokemon.' When it looked like they may have found a morale of food at the base of a tree, Genki sprung his trap, Launching his Chinch smack dab in the middle of it all. Calling to his companions as he did so, "Think fast boys!"Popping out of her pokeball, Prima wasted no time puffing up and realizing a spray of bubbles in all directions. It was time for Cole's third Pokemon to battle. She hadn't the chance earlier, but now it woukd be time to test her mettle. "Rue, unleash your power!"Cole tossed his pokeball and Rue wasted no time in releasing a Confusion on a hapless Tailow. He briefly wondered about the morality of ambushing the flock, but considered how deeply infused a love of battling was in the blood of all Pokemon. He and his brother were outnumbered, even if Aiden joined the fight. Cole considered that to even the playing field for a fair battle.
Rue uses Confusion on the nearest Tailow.

Noticing the aggressive moves of the trainers, the starly and taillow began to prepare themselves for the fight that was about to come along. Both taillow pumped themselves up ready for inflicting powerful blows during the fight that was to come. Both starly, however, moved forwards slightly, unleashing growls at Prima and Rue as well as giving them both intimidating glares (OOC: Both lose net 2 combat stages from growl and intimidate).
Prima's bubble burst in the middle of the area, catching both of the starly and leaving the left-hand one looking badly injured.
Meanwhile Aiden kept a close eye out, knowing that starly often travelled in large groups, things could be dangerous for them if this fight lasted too long.
Rue meanwhile grabbed the nearest taillow with psychic force, slamming it back into the tree and leaving it both injured and confused, clearly in quite a bad way now.

With a gleam in his eye, Genki sees an opening. 'some of these birds are looking weak.'"Nice hit bro," he snags and lifts two poke balls from his hip, sizing up the staggering Starly (the left one Prima hit), with a quick windup, he pitched a pokeball at it. Prima slightly scared by the bird's actions was bolstered by Genki's actions and words, and in truth Prima know her strength would not be affected by what Genki had in mind. Bloating up, she spurted out another wave of bubbles. "Alright, Genki, we've prepared that one for capture, it's all yours." Cole nodded to his brother, watching him expertly toss two pokeballs in quick succession. "Exceptional work, Rue. You have channeled your mystic powers with utmost skill!"Praise aside, it was time to keep up the offensive. The birds worked up their fiercest display, but it would not phase Rue and her budding psychic prowess. "Let's leave the injured for Genki, hit pick a new target and unleash another Confusion!"

Watching the Pokemon Battle, Aiden keeps his eyes to the skies. Listening to the sounds of the battle, he heart shreds a little/ He hated having to pit Pokemon against each other, but he always understood. They were Pokemon Trainers, it is what they do.

Genki threw a Pokéball at one of the starly, the ball hit, barely, but it was clearly only a glancing contact. The ball opened and the energy from it tried sucking in the starly, but barely succeeded in energising even a quarter of it before its power failed, leaving the starly slightly dazzled but still very much uncaptured. His second throw was sdaly too powerful, slamming into the taillow and taking from it what little fight it had left making the capture attempt also null-and-void as there was nothing left to ensnare.
The other taillow fluttered up into the air, ready to defend its allies aginst Rue, dashing at the ralts with stunnign speed, though it barely managed to hit and the attack was only a glancing blow (OOC: 13 damage).
Prima fired a bubble at the second of the two starly, splattering it and causing it to faint as its companion dashed at Prima and slammed into it with a speedy strike (OOC: 25 damage).
Rue unleashed a blast of psychic energy at the undamaged taillow, slamming it with debris and causing it to falter in the air as it suffered several injuries from the powerful wave of psychic energy.

"Genki, focus. You can do this," smiles Aiden while he watches Genki battling. "You just need to aim a little higher and to the left. The wind is pulling your ball off target."

The taillow continued to flutter in the air, unleashing a chirping barrage at both Rue and Prima, causing them to stumble for a moment (OOC: -1 ATK CS). Prima tried to confuse the remaining starly, but only succeded in throwing off the aim of the flapping, badly injured bird as it slammed into Prima once more, scoring quite a telling blow as it did so (OOC: 28-DEFdamage). A bright-red shape dropped down from the tree at that moment, its body glowing as it did so. A moment later the double-sphere shape moved to the two injured birds, and unleashed a pulse of shimmering white energy from its body, dimming the glow even as the injuries on the two seemed to lessen.

"Oh, and who are you, little one?" Cole peered at the Pokemon that had toppled out of the tree. He watched with wonder as it appeared to heal the birds around it, what a fascinating ability. Cole hadn't expected to feel drawn towards a Pokemon outside of the more... unsavory types, and yet he was intrigued by the small creature.
"Aiden, as you are the medic, I cede the right of capture to you." Cole gestured to his new friend. "Should you feel that this Pokemon and its powers would be of use to you, by all means, I will assist you in catching it. Should you not, however, I feel I might like to try myself."
Regardless, certain formalities must be followed first. The ritual of capture required trial by combat, and so Rue would engage. Wordlessly he nodded to the small Ralts and swept a pointing finger at the Cherubi. Prima clamps her eyes shut as the Starly collides with her body, sliding back from the force of the blow. Opening her eyes, she was relieved to see the assault was over and she was ok. Genki could see, that although Prima was putting on a tough face, she was on the brink of injury. Genki readied another ball to capture the starly, this time flinging with much better accuracy this time. The burst of light cleared almost as soon as the rocking motion stopped, the starly suddenly missing from the battlefield. (OOC: Level 10, Stark Female Starly, Ability: Intimidate- currently with 2 injuries and at 1/3 full HP)
The taillow dashed at Rue, almost managing to slam in with critical force. (OOC: 20 physical damage after Def)
With Rue's defeat, Prima fired a bubbleat the taillow, but its speed was far too much, it dashed away from the stream of bubbles, avoiding any damage from them.
Hope tottered forwards, slamming into the cherubi but it seemed almost completely unharmed by the strike, nearly completely shrugging off the weak blow. It tottered for a moment, then glowed and seemed to increase in size as it seemed to absorb the ambient sunlight.
