When the poke ball locked, Genki pumped his arm in victory, letting out a yelp of, "yes!"Genki final notice the red cherry packmen that dropped from the tree, he was so focused on his poke balls, he failed to even notice that it had head the other birds. Seeing something new, he wanted it on principle, but the winds carried Aiden's desires, and Genki was happy to relinquish it to his companion. The moment was broken when Rue took a hefty hit from the remaining Taillow. Seeing that Rue might be down for the count, "That bit is quick! Get close to Rue and watch her back, use Double Team."
Snare complies Hastily, bustling towards his sister Ralts, vibrating to and fro in a speed blur. Same uses Double Team "The user gains 3 activations of Double Team. The user may either activate Double Team when being targeted by an attack to increase their Evasion by +2 against that attack; or when making an attack to increase their Accuracy by +2 for that attack."(If Rue is attacked, Snare to intercept the hit, or if Snare is attacked outright he will use an instance of Double Team to gain a +2 to evasion) Genki holds until the Taillow is damaged, or until the end of the round, his hand ready to try again to catch the nimble bird. If it is the end of the round and the Taillow has not been damaged, it will be a curve ball to deal damage. Channeling AP for accuracy:

Aiden watches the others for a brief moment before turning his attention back to the Pokemon that fell out of the tree. "Hope, use Copycat on it," said Aiden, "Mimic its movement for now." Watching Hope mimic the newest adversary, he was impressed by the move. "Copycat, nice!" He exclaimed, reveling in the types of manuvers that have immeasurable potential.
'I'm glad to have met Aiden, he proves to be as capable a trainer as he is friendly.'

"Rue!" Cole feared the worst after Rue took a nasty hit and ran over to his fallen Pokemon. To his relief, the little Ralts reached up to tap his cheek as Cole cradled her in his arms. He smiled and withdrew her pokeball. "You fought bravely little one. Get some rest."Gustav cawed eagerly. Cole didn't want to risk sending out a Pokemon as frail as Wisp, which meant it was time to let the Murkrow teach this flock who the alpha bird in this grove was. Cole nodded and Gustav dove into the fray, his short but sharp beak aimed directly at the Taillow that had hurt Rue.

With Snare acting as a protector, it seemed that there was little chance it would avoid the sudden attack the taillow made. The bird was clearly incensed as it darted about the battlefield and slammed into Snare with almost critical force (OOC: 24 damage after DEF). Gustav fluttered to Snare's defence, diving the already injured taillow and slamming it backwards, draining it of all desire to fight on.
Hope meanhwile, glowed and grew slightly even as the cherubi dashed forwards at Gustav and firing a seed at the dark bird, wrapping it in a health sapping seed even as it interposed itself between the fallen taillow and its new attacker.

Aiden's eyes watch the Cherubi dash to protect the fallen Taillow, "You just want to protect your friend, don't you?" He gives a single nod to the Cherubi. "When the fight is over, I'll fix him up. Okay?" Looking to Hope, "Okay, Pound one more time!" AC 2: QsgCqO2i1-20 +1 = 6 1-6+1-6+8 +1 +1= 18

"Snare may need some attencion too Aiden. Snare, take a moment, just be ready for anything, I don't want you to get hurt."
Genki takes out his weighted net to help Aiden capture the cherubi, tossing it over the bulbus creature.
Weighted Net toss AC 8 lUwU1UO51d20 If it hits, -20 to capture rolls against Cherubi
Snare will wait, to dodge with double team.
Genki's foot was still on one of the weights of the net as he tossed it, causing him to fall and get tangled in the ropes. "Aiden, now might be a good tIme to thow a pokeball, unless you want an assist, I'd be happ to aid you... as soon as I get up" GenkI felt fairly embarrased by his performance thus far.

Aiden picks a pokeball from his belt and tosses it at the Cherub while moving towards Snare, "Come on, please hit..."He knew putting himself that close to a Wild Pokemon was risky, but he had to make sure that Snare was okay and hoped that the Pokemon would stay inside the ball. With only Cherubi remaining, Cole stepped out of the fray. He held up and arm for Gustav to perch on. As the Murkrow worked his way up to his shoulder, Cole gave Gustav a few appreciative scritches on his lower beak. Then, all things considered, Cole still had to stifle a laugh as his brother stumbled and botched his attempt at tossing his net.
"Expertly executed, Genki." Cole cracked something resembling a smile. "I am humbled to witness the master at work." With the bit of sibling chiding aside, Cole moved to gingerly help extricate his brother from the tangle of ropes and weights. The fight was all but over anyhow, with only the capture of Cherubi left to be seen. Aiden would succeed, Cole was certain.

Waiting for Aiden to act, Genki tried to help out his friend, but for the second time this battle he stumbled, somehow managing to foul a second throw. Perhaps he needed to do a lot more practice throwing at targets, if he truly was going to be an ace at throwing and capturing. Aiden wasn't deterred though. Instead he flung the ball from his eager hand, spinning it directly at the cherubi. It struck with good accuracy and the fat cherry seemed to growl in anger and surprise as it was suddenly turned to energy. The ball rocked vigorously from side to side for what seemed an age before it finally settled into a capture.
Suddenly the fields were much more quiet, in fact almost eeriely so.

Before realizing that he had captured the Cherubi, Aiden turns to Snare and crouches down to begin check the Pokemon's injuries while pulling out a Potion and gently spraying any wounds that were on the Pokemon. "How does that feel, Snare? Any better?"

Snare catches his breath, standing up a bit straighter as his wounds begin to fade as a result of Aiden's attention. "Rall," he chanted appreciatively, showing affection towards the medic.
As Cole helped him up, Genki said abashed, "Thanks, we don't really need to talk about this," turning to Aiden, "nice catch."
Surveying the surroundings, noting everyone was in tact and the world was quiet, "We all good? Should we press on, or does anyone need a minute?" He brushed off his pants, took stock of his things, and tested his legs to makes sure everything was in working order.

"I'd like to take a moment to check on Rue." Cole withdrew her pokeball and released her once again. He knelt beside her and gingerly pet the brave little Ralts. "She's strong willed despite her injury, I'll grant her that." Cole sighed and fished a potion from his satchel and carefully sprayed it on the worst of her wounds.Cole uses a Potion on Rue. ((Rue heals 17 HP, back up to her current maximum HP with 2 injuries))"I'd rather not see her battle again if it can be avoided, she's been injured enough. It is best, sometimes, not to tempt fate too much in one day. That said..." Cole stood."I have two other perfectly healthy Pokemon ready to test their mettle. We needn't stop yet." Which reminded him. "And speaking of, congratulations on your new friend, Aiden. I believe you two will form a duo of significant medicinal prowess."Done rambling, Cole's attention turned to the stillness of the landscape around them. Eerily quiet indeed... but eerie was just how Cole liked it.

Once Snare's injuries were taken care of, Aiden heads over to the ball to pick it up, returning Hope to her ball. "Thanks, it has been a while since I caught a new Pokemon." Hearing the cacophony of angry chirps overhead, he looks and sees the swarm and his face seems to drop, "I was worried about this... Kiba, let's go!" He calls forth Kiba for his ball. Glancing back at the others, "We've gotta move, there are too many to fight." Turning back to face the diving birds, "Kiba, use Roar!" "Come on, we can take them!" Genki encourages, as we watched the space between himself and Aiden increase, and that between the swarm decrease. "Well, perhaps it would be prudent to stick together," quickening his steps backwards while eyeing the mass of birds, "Cole go!"Genki pops a pokeball, and out comes the newly caught Starly, Dash. "Welcome to the team, seems we've got a bit of a problem with some of your friends," indicating the the approaching Hitchcock nightmare, "Maybe you want to talk to them, let them know we are not to be trifled with, but your injured so stay close."For a moment Dash seemed conflicted, before they were rivals, now friends? Be it that Genki had proven formidable, the welcome, or the concern for her well being, (Genki couldn't tell) Dash made the decision to perch herself on her new Comrade's shoulder; facing backwards, towards the swarm. With a chirp of accnoledgment Dash let out a "Star!""OK then, put on your game face and give them a growl!"
"Starly, star, star, lee!" Dash obliged with a menacing scowl.

The swarm of starly suddenly dived down, several of them slamming into Kiba with their wings, the sheet mass of them makign a hit almost inveitable it seemed. (OOC: 27-DEF Flying damage)
Dahs focused on intimidating her fellow Starly, it seemed that they were suitably terrified by the sounds, though whether that would completely keep them out of the fight or simply limit their efficacy was a question to be answered in the next few moments. (OOC: You still have to roll for AC- a 1 always misses; no need to roll for Intimidate, it just activates.
The Starly follwoed suit though, growling back at Dash. She almost dodged out of the way in time, but was frightened enough that she too was afflicted by the fear-inducing growl. (OOC: -1 CS to ATK for Dash).
The birds then dived down at Dash, but this time she was too fast and they were too slow, Dash avoided the press of bodies trying to tackle her.
Finally, Kiba dashed towards them, unleashing a roar that truly terrified some of the birds, causing about ten to scatter away from the swarm.

"Gentleman, I have considerable doubt as to our ability to outrun a flock of Starly" Cole grimaced, reaching for a pokeball. "We may well have no option but to stand our ground and die with valor in our hearts. Surely the underworld will take mercy on us."With a flourish, he released Wisp from the pokeball between his fingers. "Wisp, let loose your infernal mists!" Without a moment's hesitation, the small Litwick spun about, puffed itself up and released a gout of noxious gas at the flock of assailing Starly. Dash quivered on Genki's shoulder, "that's alright buddy, just stay there," she happily obliged, nestling into the crook of his neck. Looking back, Genki saw his brother attempting to take on the swarm, 'what is he doing,' stopping himself, he turned back to his brother, "Aiden, Cole's not doing the retreating thing!"For a moment, his mind raced with the options before him, "OK Avi, we need your help!" With a toss of a pokeball, a Trapinch appears next to Cole, light glinting off him from between the trees. Genki uses 'quick switch' so Avi can act this round
