Ezra watched the what was going on near the island. That didn't look like it was going to be good, he hoped the ship would stay clear of the tumult. When part of the group rushed the boat and attacked he groaned. A pair of Pokemon broke off from the group and landed on the ship. One landed right next to him almost making him jump out of his skin. The poor thing seemed extremely agitated, it seemed like the others had chased this pair here. Leaning down he tried to console the one that had landed next to him. "Hey, you'll be fine, we've got this." After attempting to calm it down he turned to Ann asking her to blast any of the pursuers that came close. Dolly's pecking against the Frillish has definitely caught its attention; as the ghostly jellyfish squeals in pain, which turns into an inhuman scream as Aquila wheels around, slicing through not only it, but one of its companions as well, leaving them both leaking ichor and looking on the verge of collapse. Aquila however has not come away unscathed. Streamers of ghostly enegery cling to his feathers, and crackling light leeches away the last of the silver tinge from his feathers as the tiny eagle finishes his attack run. Cursed Body from Frillish 2 activates, Steel Wing Disabled The farthest of the Inkay, seeing Aquila's power, focuses on the little bird, drifting closer before its spots begin to glow, sending a psychic distortion rippling through the air. The ripples smack into the bird, his eyes glazing for a moment as psychic energy disoriented and tore at him. Psywave AC 5: 10, 1d4=2, Aquila takes 13 unresisted damage The biggest of the three Inkay, seeking to take advantage of the distraction the Frillish are providing, floats into the boat... but is noticed by the sharp-eyed Ann! It almost manages to avoid the wisp of blue flames that the Gastly sent at it, but in the end zigged when it should have zagged, causing it to cry out as a nasty burn appeared on its mantle. Glarig terribly at Ann, it also sends a ripple of psychic power towards the ghost, incredible anger crackling in its eyes. Ann's ectopplasm is wracked and shredded as the energy smashes into her being. Psywave AC 5: 11 1d4=2; Ann takes 13 unresisted damage, do not apply weakness The Mantyke, seemingly soothed not only by Gina's words but by Dolly's attack against the Frillish calms somewhat. Seeing one of its pursuers on its last legs, the little mon puffs up until it looks practically spherical, before releasing a stream of high-powered energized bubbles. Unfortunately while the attack is powerful, it seems that the Frillish's durable skin is more resiliant than expected, deforming and then springing back with no damage done thanks in part to the angle of the attack making many of the bubbles simply slide off its skin rather than detonating against it.

With the ship locked on course, Victor strode dutifully from the wheelhouse and heavily along the deck of the ship, fetching Precious' ball and giving it a toss. "All hands, we've been boarded!" He barks. Surprisingly, the Bulbasaur appears with much less prompting this time, but immediately turns and growls fangily at her master. "Don't yeh eyeball me yeh rotten cabbage, you know the rules when I gotta keep near the wheel. Pomp later, fight now." With an irritated toss of her head, and a loud snort, the Bulbasaur arched her back and shot a toxic glob of sap in an arc towards the nearby Inkay. zW67|k1X1d20 Acc Sludge Bomb V. The Frillish moan and shriek as two of their number are battered, their ghostly limbs finally coming around for payback. The Frillish that has remained unscathed so far decides discretion is the better part of valor, hanging back and focusing its ire on Dolly, one of the two mon that have most definitely hurt its fellows. It sends out streamers of light green energy, thin filaments extending from its limbs, which latch on and attempt to drain away some of the young parrot's vitality. Frillish 1; Absorb AC 2: 15, Special Grass Damage: 25 before defense and resistance. The most injured of the two Frillish copies its unwounded partner, though it turns its ire upon Aquila, attempting to drain the little eagle dry. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be as offensively minded as its brethren, the strands it sends out are fewer in number, and much thinner. However it still manages to make contact. Frillish 2; Absorb AC 2: 15, Special Grass Damage: 18 before defense and resistance The last Frillish, although nearly as injured as its cohort, opts for a different tactic; given that it's boxed in on two sides, it spins its limbs about, producing a shockwave of bubbles that slap into both Dolly and Aquila. Frillish 3; Bubble AC 2: 16, Special Water Damage: 25 The Skrelp, seeing the Inkay coming at it (and the others) from the back, reacts with great speed, Hopping forward slightly, even as it spits a globule of sticky ink, which reacts with the air to form a thick noxious stream enveloping the Inkay... just in time, it seems, as the little cephalopod sends out its own blast of psychic energies, aimed at the newly emerged and highly intimidating form of Victor. Unfortunately the smokescreen proves too little too late, the attack slamming into Victor's broad glittering torso. Psywave AC 5: 17, Damage: 19, do not apply defenses or resistances Dolly - 15 Aquila - 13 Ezra - 11 Ann - 11 Gina - 10 Inkay 3 - 8 Inkay 2 - 8 Mantyke - 7 Precious - 7 (assuming agility training has been applied) Gladius - 5 Victor - 5 Frillish 1 - 4 Frillish 2 - 4 Frillish 3 - 4 Skrelp - 3 Inkay 1 - 3

Dolly seemed to brush off the first attack, though the second one certainly hit harder. However, Dolly was a clever birdie. A clever, mimicky birdie. And that Frillish had given her a very, very good move to help her damaged state. Drawing upon the power of birds, Dolly copied the not-so-useful Absorb, to make it a much-more-useful Absorb, against the injured Frillish that hit her with that nasty little Bubble. Payback never tasted so sweet! Dolly used Mirror Move and copied Absorb! AC(2): 17 Dmg: 17 Grass Special

As Ann is struck by the Inkay's Psywave she activates spite in retaliation. A wispy black shadow feeds back along the path the wave took disabling the attack. Seeing the danger that it posed Ezra directed Ann to put it to sleep. Ann responded by using hypnosis on the offending Inkay attempting to lock it down for a bit. Spite as free action

Figuring the best place for her was 'not by the water', Gina shifted back closer to Erza and Ann, placing herself squarely in between them all. Perfect! Even the Mantyke should feel the effects of her song, too. Sliding her hands to the right fret, Gina prepared the group for the upcoming onslaught of attacks with a hearty chord, her companions(and new Mantyke buddy) feeling a protective aura about them. "Hunker down, boys! They can't hurt you none!"Gina spends 1AP to use Song of Life; +5 DR for Erza, Ann, Gladius, and the Mantyke until the end of Gina's next turn. Maybe the Skrelp, but I'm not sure if it's in the Burst 4 radius or not. It's iffy. Alas, Victor and Precious aren't close enough because she couldn't move far enough.

The other Inkay facing the two fliers, seeing that this meal isn't nearly as easy as it had thought, begins to swing from side to side, making aggravated poses at Dolly. The little bird chirps in confusion... and then anger, her feathers fluffing up in agitation even as he flight path gains a wobble thanks to not paying quite as much attention to her flying. Inkay 3 uses Swagger on Dolly. AC 4: 10. Dolly gains +2 Attack combat stages and is now Confused Back on-board, Ann's quick actions quickly put the Inkay that had tried to blindside the party to sleep, leaving it twitching and squirming as it sank to the deck, its burns and the toxins from Precious causing it pain. It quickly shakes off the effects though, glaring about blearily, flopping to the deck of the ship and seeming to have trouble regaining its bearings. Inkay 2 takes 2 ticks of damage from poison and burn. Inkay 2 sleep check DC 16: 18. Inkay 2 wakes up, but is tripped and slowed. The Mantyke, seeing that one of the Frillish is wobbling dangerously, decides to take action. Flopping overboard once more, the little mon dips under Dolly to slam into the beleagured ghost... only to pass through the gelatinous mass in surprise! Mantyke uses Tackle. Victor squinted an eye shut down at Precious. The Bulbasaur was notoriously cruel in his mind which was strange given how pampered it was, and how kind it's former owner had been. Perhaps he had left that go for too long. Maybe it was time to begin recruiting again. A large hand swept under his greatcloak and closed over a ball. Maybe it was time to let Precious know that she could never be his one and only. That was lost with his crew. Y5UHaM5Q1d20+1 Pokeball Vs. Inkay 2 (AP Spent) 1d20 Capture Check

Gladius stared out over the waves in frustration. There wasn't really anything he could do against any of the pokemon fighting over the water...but he could do something about the ones on the ship. He strolled the ones battling on the ship, smacking the flat of his blade against his shield in time with his steps, trying to draw their attention. Gladius is slow at Overland 5, so can't reach anyone. He shifts as shown on the map and uses Iron Defense.

Precious rounded on Victor, a betrayed look in her eyes, the vines that had attempted to thwart him arching as though to strike him. Tears built in her eyes, and the quadruped hunched forward, shivering with upset and rage. Those red eyes shot a hot glare at the ball that lay still on the deck behind her. "Saurrrrr....!?" The Bulbasaur barked up at him, as those vines ever so slowly retracted into it's body, hesitating several times along the way.
Victor took a heavy knee, and rested a large hand over his partner's bulb, thumb gently rubbing between her ears. "Precious, I miss him too, but I can't be him. I have tried to make this as easy for you as I can, but we can't do this just the two of us. You can't be my one and only... not the way that you were his. I'm sorry." He rumbled softly.
With a poignant nobility, the grass Pokemon held back her tears, but head low returned to her Pokeball with neither the usual pomp or circumstance she received. Victor's hand closed slowly over the spot where she had been.

Distracted by the clanging and banging sounds, one of the Frillish veers away from its original target, and sets its sights on Gladius. Swimming closer, it uses its tendrils to pull itself up onto the railing, before taking aim at the armor-clad man... And sending a burst of green tendrils slinging towards him from one tentacle. Absorb AC 2: 17, Special Grass Damage: 22 Its wildly battered companion, seeing one friend surrounded on all sides while the uninjured schoolmate advances recklessly, takes drastic measures as its body begins to ripple, and then seemingly dissolves into the water. Those last bubbles seemed to hurt, and Dolly's flight pattern became unsteady as her wing was injured in the fight. However, she didn't let it set her back, and powered through to peck at the heavily-injured Frillish in the water before her, hopefully taking it out for good and freeing up her companions. Gladius weathered the attacks that were sent his way quite well, taking them on his shield easily. He continued his banging and grunting, making as much noise as he could. The more attention he drew, the better. As Dolly took down the Frillish between them, Aquila gave a thankful chirp. He nodded his head back toward the ship and set off toward it at top speed. Aquila is sprinting 8 onto the boat.

Ezra's heart sank upon seeing a blast hit Ann, he gave her a worried look but she shot back her best-determined one. They'd been in worse scrapes but that didn't stop him from worrying about her. Turning at a noise just behind him he saw the wounded Aquilla fly back over the ship. Ezra reached into his bag as he slid over to the bird in a quick fluid motion. Pulling out a potion he began to spray it on any problem areas as quickly and tenderly as possible. Once the contents of the bottle were emptied he gave the small bird a quick pat before standing up and turning to face Ann. Who continued the attack for her part, shooting out another wispy blue flame at the nearest Inkay. She then immediately flew back a bit to hide behind Ezra. Ezra had Medic Training - Potion +20 HP

All right, everything was going well so far...Victor and Precious had a moment, the riled up pokemon were falling, Erza was taking care of Aquila, Gladius was still good, and Gina still really couldn't directly attack. However, everyone was far closer together now, so she saw a chance to help end this fight early. Moving by Erza, the barmaid slid her hands further down her guitar, strumming a fast and hard chord that filled her companions(and possibly the Skrelp) with a familiar power. "Hit 'em hard and let's get going! We don't got all day!" Gina continued to give encouragement, keeping spirits high. Gina used Song of Might! +5 bonus to damage rolls for everyone but Dolly and the Mantyke(Range Burst 4). Even Victor and Precious this time!

The Inkay, seeing one Frillish dissapear, and a second go down under a combined assault, seems to have had a serious change of heart. Looking back at the roiling waters around the atoll, and the scraps that were floating there for the taking, it considers the group of people and mon on the boat, and decides that discretion is the better form of valor. It jets away in a light cloud of ink.
Mantyke, seeing Aquila limping along onto the deck of the ship, quickly flops back onto the wood as well, looking to get as far as possible from the vicious mon that have taken over its former home.

'That's right...eyes here...,' Gladius thought as the hostile pokemon focused their attention on him. As the Inkay slammed into his shield, Gladius began his counterattack.
This time when he slammed his sword into his shield, Gladius also stomped his foot. For a brief moment the ship grew still...unnaturally so. Then, beneath all of the hostile pokemon...and the Skrelp...the ship began to vibrate, shake and shudder.
As the deck beneath their feet became unsteady, Gladius struck. Two swift slashes in a cross-shape directed straight at the Inkay, both finding their mark as Gladius sported a wide, wild grin on his face.
