"Drat." Brandon says, recalling his Pokemon. "Now I'll have to come back a third time. Well, guess that's what I get for having a bunch of Pokemon weak to Ice. We'll just have to bring along some ice braces next time I guess. Or train harder, one of the two."
Brandon shakes his head and wishes Kaeda luck with her battle, despite her icy reception to him earlier.

Finding herself already at the top, Kaeda waits only a short time before someone else arrives. They appear from seemingly out of nowhere and walk over to her.
"Greetings. My name is Anastasia Strovassi, and I am the Gym Leader here. Congratulations on your last match. Come with me and we'll get you and your Pokemon warmed up a bit before your match."
Anastasia leads Kaeda over to what looks like an empty plot of land, only for her to open a very-well camouflaged door into a warm house. Once inside, the Gym Leader guides Kaeda to the healing machine so her Pokemon can be fully rested before beginning the Badge Match. Whenever Kaeda is ready, Anastasia asks her what sort of challenge she wants to take: Basic (non-contact) or Advanced (full-contact).
