Lopunny thinks for a bit, then agrees to go with Kaeda. She later finds out from Orpheus talking to it that its bright pink coloring makes it easy prey for predatory Pokemon.
Lopunny is Male, level 32, Patient, with Cute Charm and Klutz.

Kaeda claps with joy, and hugs her new friend. She carries him (as she will find out the gender from Orpheus as well) back to the others. "Lia! Eve! Look who I found! A shiny Lopunny!"

The Lilligant is blindsided and blasted with fairy magic. It reels in shock and staggers to one side, narrowly avoiding the poke ball by sheer chance. Once it recovers, it tries to put Orpheus to sleep!

Orpheus acts quickly to sync up her status with the Lilligant. Nap time for both pokemon. Kaeda takes this chance to walk up to the Lilligant , and boop it.
Orpheus uses Synchronize "Trigger - The user is Paralyzed, Frozen, Burned, Poisoned, or put to Sleep.
The foe which caused the Status Condition is given the same Status they inflicted."

Kaeda is first out of the gate, as she sends out Seiryu the Gabite to face the leader's pokemon. Kaeda starts setting up as she marks the enemy Arbok as their target. Kaeda also clears her mind to fight more effectively.

Nalkeya used Substitute! Arbok used Coil (+1 ATK/DEF, +1 Accuracy)! Nalkeya binds Debilitate as a Swift Action using Commander's Voice.

Seiryu flashes an intense glare at the snake, and starts kicking up dirt. A LOT of dirt. So much dirt, there's a sandstorm! Kaeda also takes this opportunity to attack the snake with her own powers.

The snake manages to withstand the attack, activating its Black Sludge in the process. It hisses coldly at the nasty dragon before spitting a huge glob of poisonous gunk at it.

Both KAeda, and Seiryu are thankful for the Pecha berries they ate earlier. It might be tough after using their poison defensive measure so early, but they have to fight on. The angry dragon dives under ground quickly. Kaeda takes this chance to move closer to the snake. "Hit them low, and I'll hit them high!" Kaeda barks her orders to have Gabite erupt near the enemy while she blasts the Arbok with another psychic attack.
Kaeda uses Commander's Voice to use Expend Momentum as a Swift Action

Arbok is defeated quite soundly, but it did its job of weakening the dragon slightly. Nalkeya tsks when both foes remove their poison via berries. No matter though, as now they are out of berries. Time to go for the "kill".
A Seviper takes the field and sends a wave of toxic liquid washing over both Kaeda and her Gabite. Shortly thereafter, Kaeda feels a sharp pain in her side, followed by the sting of poison as the "hidden" Nalkeya smacks her with kali sticks.
Seviper used Sludge Wave!

Kaeda dives out of the way of the giant wave of nasty goop, but this leaves her open to get hit super hard by the gym leader. Kaeda hops back up, and sets Seviper as the new target. Seiryu weathers the attacks, and with Kaeda's orders, charges the snake at full power.
KAeda uses Dive, stand up, Duelist to mark Seviper.

Kaeda coughs as she breaths in the poisonous fumes. This was getting on her nerves. Seiryu was still standing despite so much abuse. Under Kaeda's orders, he dove back into the ground, and erupted out near both enemies. Kaeda focuses her attacks on the gym leader this time as payback.

Nalkeya's Substitute fades away under Kaeda's psychic assault, revealing her location once more as the sandstorm ends. Seviper is badly hurt, but survives the Dig attack and the follow-up strike. It hisses in pain but resolves to sweep both foes one last time if possible.
