"Chaaaaaa~," Bolt cooed as Luke pet him. Jack couldn't help but laugh right along with Luke.
"Mmhmm. This is what Bolt has always wanted to do, to set off on a journey like this and make friends," Jack said happily, clearly very happy that his friend was so happy.
Bolt nodded happily as Luke pet him. "Pika-chuuu."
"This is our dream. I'm sure he's having the time of his life," Jack said with a wide grin.
"Pi-ka!," Bolt said, nodding happily and nuzzling Luke once more.
Bolt looked over his shoulder to see what mischief he could get into and found Luke's hood. He grabbed it and started tugging on it, trying to put it on.
"Pika pika pika pika...," he muttered in a low voice, pulling the hood up over Luke's head messily. Then Bolt dove into the hood, squirming around until he had managed to climb on top of Luke's head, using Luke's hair as a bed and his hoodie as a blanket. Finally, Bolt's head popped out from under the hood, right atop Luke's.
"Pika," he said contentedly, settling in comfortably.
Jack couldn't help but try and stifle some laughter. "I think he likes your hoodie Luke...it makes a perfect blanket...," he said with a grin.

"Gah!" Luke gasps as his hoodie was stretched out by Bolt, laughingly trying to get the Pikachu off "Get off, ya rat! You're stretching it! I do not have bed hair!"
He tugs at his hood, taking it off before removing the lighting rat from his head, holding him in his arms, facing him, as he smiles at Bolt. "You're a handful, aren't you? Not sure how Jack puts up with you."

As Dave bent down, the Natu slowly hopped out of the bushes, its feathers ruffled and one of its wings bent at an odd angle. It stayed a little back from the group of trainers, staring at them with unblinking eyes before glowing a light blue for a split second before the color sputtered out the the bird rapidly blinks for a few seconds.
Bolt takes this moment to jump out of Lukes arms and move closer to the Natu, though the bird takes a few steps back as the Pikachu nears it, eventually circling around where Dave was inbetween the two Pokemon. Bolt seemed to take slight offense to this and began rapidly chittering at the bird, which just responded with the same blank stare, before looking up at Dave and attempting to glow once more to the same result as before. Thinking on it for a moment, Dave remembers that Xatu, the evolved form of Natu are known Telepaths, though Natu isnt known to have the same ability.

Dave looks askance at the Natu's wing, before noticing Bolt's antics. He turns to Jack and says, irritably, "Would you mind getting your Electric," he emphasises the word, "mouse out of here? He's spooking it."With that delivered, he rummages through his bag, pulling out a container and pouring some water into it. With a more calm and quiet tone, he puts it in between him and the Natu, saying "I don't know what you're trying to say, but you look hurt. Here, drink this. It'll help with some of it, at least. I can take you to the next town's Pokémon Center, if you want, where they should be able to help with that wing."Using Fresh Water.

Jack smiled at Luke as he struggled with Bolt. "Lots of practice," he said with a teasing grin. "Nah, Bolt is my best, oldest friend. I've known him all my life. I wouldn't change anything about him," he said confidently, smiling genuinely.
As Bolt scampered away, Jack moved a bit closer to Luke to chat. "Bolt seems to really like you. He doesn't usually get so familiar with people so quickly," Jack said with a warm smile. "You should know, he gets kinda attached. Like it or not, I think you're stuck with him as a friend for life," Jack said with a knowing grin at Luke.
It was then that Dave interrupted with his usual complaining.
"He's not spooking it, Bolt is just trying to make friends," Jack protested, "...not that you'd know anything about making friends...," he muttered under his breath.
"Come on Bolt, let Dave figure it out by himself," Jack called.

As the battle wraps up and the lighthearted play begins, Jacqueline steps back a few feet, quietly recording Bolt, Luke, and Jack playing to put up as bonus content on her blog later. As she does so, Floon drifts in her direction, giving a light "Floooooooooo~" and a nudge when it reaches her. She stops recording at that, lightly adjusting Floon's tophat as she gives Floon a little scratch. Floon responds by drifting down to her hand and wrapping its arms around her wrist, closing its eyes to take a nice, secure nap.
She continues to stay a little ways back from the boys, watching Dave's gentle care for the injured bird with a perplexed look on her face. She might actually like this Dave, if only he'd show up more often.

Luke snorts at Jack's remark. "However will I manage?" he says drily, before blinking and smiling as Bolt darts off to pester Dave.
Leaving Jack and Dave to sort that mess, he turns back to his own mon. Giving Abbadon one last pat, he returned him to his ball. Although he was a good fighter, he was a bit too aggressive for Luke's tastes, especially to have out in the wild. Looking over to Maia, he frowns a little, thoughtfully. Maia was okay as a scout, but well... she was no Gawain. He really didn't want to walk out in the woods without some protection out, especially not with how jumpy the mon around here had been.
Having few other options, he calls out Palamedes, making sure to release him outside of the field of view of the Natu (no need to further spook the little bird). The little canine was a lot more stable than Abbadon, and over a better fighter than Maia. He smiles at the pup, petting him and scratching him behind his ears. "You up for a little adventure, buddy? Gawain's resting, so I need you to watch our back and help out if more trouble shows up." He thinks for a bit as he pets Palamedes. The Lillipup and Herdier around this parts have been rather uncharacteristically twitchy... I suppose the Murkrow acting up might have something to do with it, but I'm not sure if that's all there's to it... "Hey, Palamedes, do you know what's got the other Lillipup around here so on guard? Is there something going on besides the problems with the Murkrow?" he asks Palamedes, curious to see if the pup had an idea.

Bolt ran over and jumped on Jacks shoulder without too much protest, though he kept looking back over his shoulder at the bird, his fur prickling a bit as it continued to stare.
Palamedes looks up at his trainer and cocks his head sideways before yipping a bit. It seems like he's agreeing with Luke, though he keeps yipping like there's something more to it, however the Normal type trainer isn't quite sure what he's getting at.
The Natu greedily slurps up the water, looking better, but still obviously hurt. It once more flashed blue for a moment, before realizing it was getting nowhere. The little bird hopped a little closer to Dave and looked up at him once more before trying to jump up onto his shoulder, before falling to the ground as its wing is unable to hold it up.

"Watch it there," Dave says, a little sternly, as the bird leaps for his shoulder, "You'll just hurt yourself more. Look, I can carry you to the Center, though it'll be a bit, or you can ride inside a Pokéball. Your choice." He holds out one of the capsules for the Natu, if it wants.

Luke blinks a few times as Palamedes yips away. "I'm not sure why I thought that would help... Thanks buddy." Giving the Lillipup one last pat on the head, he gets up and looks over to where Dave seemed to be having some moderate success in befriending the Natu, waiting for him to finish.

The Natu bounces forward a few steps, inspecting the Pokeball for a second before pecking at the button in the center and being pulled in. For a moment, the ball shook in Daves hand, before eventually chiming with a successful capture.

Dave's relieved that the bird decided to go for the ball. It means that he can put off going to the Pokémon Center immediately, in order to head for the Dreamyard. Whatever exactly that was. Might be a good thing to ask the person who lives around here, in any case.
"So, Luke," he ventures, once they start heading on the path again, "Do you know anything about a 'Dreamyard' around here?"

Luke shrugs, a bit surprised. "A bit, sure. Why though? Planning on visiting?"

"No, I just like wasting my time randomly asking people about places they might have information on, that I have no intention of ever going to." Dave replies, sarcastically. He doesn't particularly enjoy the thought of a gaggle of tagalongs, though... so hopefully he doesn't regret mentioning it. "Someone mentioned the place, but I haven't really been able to find out much about it."

Luke frowns at Dave's sarcasm, a tad annoyed. "I was just asking, no need to be snide..." he mutters, before sighing. "The Dreamyard is an abandoned research facility, where they studied dreams and ... Dream Mist, I believe. Lots of Psychic types in the area, as well as other Pokémon related to dreams and sleep and stuff, like there's something drawing them there." He thinks for a moment if he can recall anything else. "I think one of the Sages, the big shots of Team Plasma, was arrested there the first time they were causing trouble..." He shrugs, "That's all I've got. A spooky place full of Psychics and the like, that had some interest to Team Plasma in the past. With them starting to act up again, who knows?" - he shrugs again - "They might be interested in it again."

Jack continued to scratch Bolt's fur. "What's got you worried buddy? Something not quite right about that little bird? You're not normally like this...," Jack asked.
As the conversation shifted, Jack shrugged. "Team Plasma could be there, but either way I think we should check it out. The Dreamyard would be a great place to look for psychic pokemon to add to our teams, and those are normally pretty rare and powerful pokemon," he said. "I don't really think it's an opportunity we can afford to miss out on. Good thinking, Dave."

"That's interesting..." Dave mumbles, before having his train of thought interrupted by Jack. "Hey, now. When did I say I wanted tagalongs?" he asks, irritably. "I didn't mention it to turn into a group trip, especially not for sightseeing." He shakes his head. "I'm just going to pop in, grab something, and get out. I don't plan on hanging around at all with Plasma around. 'Specially not since it seems there's something they might want there." He starts walking in the direction of the path again, clipping his new Pokémon's ball to his belt. "I obviously can't stop you from doing whatever you want, but I'm not going to bail you out if you get in over your head."

Jacqueline walks alongside the three, watching as they talk with a perplexed expression on her face. She pets Floon absentmindedly as she leans slightly in towards Luke, speaking with no particular attempt to control her volume. "Man, Dave really never gets tired of the whole 'I'm fiercely independent and don't want anyone else around me' thing, does he. I wonder if it gets tiring... Nah, he'd just say 'The only thing that's tiring is having to put up with you guys never letting me be alone', or something like that."
She giggles in amusement at herself, then suddenly her eyes widen and she gets a sheepish expression on her face. "Whoops, definitely told myself I was going to stop mocking and assuming things about him. Well that didn't last long..."

Luke flashes a quick smile at Jacq's comment, before turning back to Dave. "And if you were planning on going to the Dreamyard on your own, who's going to bail you out when you get in over your head?" He tilts his head, frowning thoughtfully. "What are you planning on grabbing over there anyway? Just a few moments before you didn't even know anything about the place."

"I don't need your permission to go check out the Dreamyard, Dave. Jeez, you try and give a guy a compliment...," Jack said, shaking his head. Bolt mimicked Jack, shaking his head at Dave.
"Besides, like Luke said, Team Plasma used to be there. What makes you think they'd go running back there? It doesn't seem like a good hiding place if everyone knows you used it before," Jack said. It made sense to him.
"And the way I remember it, Me and Bolt didn't need any bailing out in that Team Plasma attack," Jack said, crossing his arms. "Pika-pi!," Bolt shouted angrily, likewise crossing his arms.
"So that settles it. Me and Bolt are gonna go check out the Dreamyard. What about you guys, you wanna come?," Jack asked, looking to Jacq and Luke.
