The sun was rising over Nuvema Town once more, the majority of tourists have vacated after the Tournament ended the day before. The Pokemon Center was almost empty, a few stragglers and locals hanging out and getting breakfast before setting off on their own. Compared to the past few days, it was an almost idyllic scene, though no one planned on staying there for too much longer.
On the outskirts of town Dave, Jack, and Luke all made it to the start of Unova Route 1. On either side of the trail stood trees that towered above the trio, the sounds of bird and bug Pokemon filling the air, along with the sounds of the ocean off to the west. The leaves on the trees were almost completely brown, a few already beginning to fall to the earth, autumn being in full swing.
Bolt and Gawain have already put the battle behind them, chattering at each other as they look around at the falling leaves. each of them jumping and trying to knock them out of the air.
And hovering a few meters above the group is another one of the drones, a sight that is becoming more and more familiar to the trio. It's rotors spin silently as it slowly trails after them.

Dave had gotten Hal healed up at the Pokémon Center (again), before heading off to sleep. If the time since arriving in town had taught Dave anything, it's to always prioritize being ready to fight at any time. But, sleep was welcome at last...
But, the morning came too early. Mornings in Unova weren't so fun, because this would be the middle of the night back home. Oh well. Best to try and get used to the time difference now. And no other way to do that than actually waking up. And getting out of bed. Okay. Any time now.
...maybe?
At last, getting up, Dave makes his way down to grab something to eat, see if there's any caffeinated beverages served, and does some training with Hal outside, in an attempt to wake himself up more. It's... marginally successful. He's at least alert.
After what seems like ages, but probably wasn't much more than perhaps an hour, Dave finds himself at the entrance to "Route 1". Huh. I thought Route 1 was over in Kanto. There were plenty of green spaces back home, but they were all clean, and well maintained. Not like this. Here it just seemed like some god decided to place things down all helter-skelter. This would take some getting used to...

When they reached the pokemon center last night, Jack had decided to leave Tye and Crawler there overnight. Crawler had taken a lot of damage in his battle against Abaddon, and Tye, after fighting in the tournament, and again in Jack's battle with Luke, also needed some extra time to recover.
So, the next morning, Jack was up as early as ever. He made breakfast for himself, Luke, and all of their pokemon, and packed it up neatly to take to the pokemon center. After leaving a note for Luke, since there was no need to wake him up early, Jack left for the pokemon center. There he and his pokemon all had breakfast, and waited for Luke to start training...which proved to be a very effective session.
Now, out on Unova Route 1, Jack took in a deep breath of the fall air. It was a beautiful day. He could hear the sounds of distant pokemon, birds and bugs. He already had a bug-type pokemon on his team, Crawler, but he was certainly open to more...and especially to a flying type pokemon.
Jack walked up besides Luke, leaning over and whispering in his ear. "You know, if we split up to look for pokemon, that one drone couldn't follow us all," He whispered slyly. "We could even take a bet. Who do you think it would follow?," he asked, whispering the question with a mischievous grin.

Luke arrived not much later than Jack at the center, having woken up only a bit after him, having went to the center directly after having read his note, if only because he had left Maia there for the night to heal up properly.
After breakfast and a training session with Jack, they headed out for the route.
Luke grinned slightly at Jack's remark, before shaking his head. "They probably have more drones floating about out of sight. Don't want to run the risk of missing any of the action after all," he responds quietly.

"I know, I know...but there's only one way to find out, right?," Jack asked. "Besides, don't you want to go look for some new pokemon?," he asked, nudging Luke in the ribs with his elbow.

Luke winces slightly as Jack nudges him, but smiles nonetheless. "Of course I do. Just don't feel like betting is all..."

"We don't have to actually bet anything...just see who's right. Y'know, a friendly bet," Jack said. "So...whadda ya say we do it? We count, '1-2-Go', then split up, sound good?," Jack asked. "And, by the way, I think the camera will follow you," he said with a grin.

Luke grins at Jack's proposal. "Sounds good." He shrugs awkwardly at his last comment. "I don't think so, but whatever..."
He stands still for a moment, before turning back to Jack. "Well, on three then?" he says, grinning.

Jack nods and grins. "One...two...three, GO!," Jack said, starting from a whisper and ending rather loudly. He took off like a shot, running off into the forest on the opposite side from Luke, Bolt hot on his heels.

Luke grins and darts off in the forest as well, Gawain running a few steps ahead of him.

As Luke and Jack nod at each other and take off, the Camera Drone turns quickly between the two before turning down and focusing on Dave, slowly hovering above him still.
Jack
After about a minute of running into the woods, Bolt overtakes Jack and skids to a halt, looking upwards and crying out "Pika-pikaaaa!" As Jack looks up he sees a trio of flying type Pokemon fluttering around and attacking a fourth, clearly of a different species. The smaller bird seems to be favouring one wing and is attempting to land on one of the branches of the tree. Bolt looks back at Jack for guidance, clearly wanting to get involved.
Luke
It doesn't take long for Luke to realize the camera wasn't following him, leaving him and Gawain a peaceful walk through the woods. Well, peaceful to a point. After a few minutes, Luke hears the sounds of a scuffle coming from the bushes ahead of him. As he peeks through the bushes, he sees two canine Pokemon standing across from each other and growling before slowly circling each other. Gawain stand behind Luke for a second before poking his head out of the bushes
Dave
Free from the other two, Dave was able to soak up the sights and sounds of the Unovan Countryside. Instead the first thing he heard was the sound of a small Pokemon crying off in the distance. It seemed like he could make it to the sounds in just a few moments if he wanted...

Luke stops to think for a moment when he sees two Lillipup fightng for dominance... or at least, attempting to. Seemed the two were both too nervous to start anything. Shrugging, he figures he might as well move in and see if he could defuse the situation somewhat. He carefully steps out of the bushes, a gentle smile on his face as he slightly waves at the Lillipup to catch their attention. "Hi there!"Charm Check: 13

As the other two dart off, Dave notices the drone stay near him, and rolls his eyes. This was going to take some getting used to. At least in the Battle Tower, all you had were your battles recorded. Well, and I guess the interviews, if you were a really high level battler.Shrugging, Dave decides to just try and enjoy the peace and qui- Well, that didn't last very long. Oh well. Might as well go check it out. It might be interesting. At the very least, he might be able to shut it up. Pokémaniac/Identification: 16

Jack looked up, seeing the Spearow attacking the injured Pidgey. "Hey! Leave that Pidgey alone!," Jack said urgently, trying to get the Spearow's attention.
"Alright Bolt, let's help that Pidgey out! Electro Ball that lead Spearow, go!," he said, pointing at the Spearow that seemed to be leading the attack.

LukeAs Luke stepped out of the bushes towards the two Lillipup they take on an even more aggressive stance for a moment, before seeming to calm down for a moment. At least until the smaller of the two takes the opportunity to nip the other on the back, causing the two to go right back to growling at each other. The smaller one makes another move towards the bigger one, who runs and stands in front of Luke, looking back at the young trainer for a moment, before entering a battling stance... Gawain stands beside Luke, watching the scene unfold with his head tilted towards the side JackBolt ran forward and unleashed the blast of electricity, catching the Spearow by the wing, and sending it tumbling down to the forest floor. One of the remaining birds continued to harass the Pidgey, while the last one turned its sights on Bolt, charging the Pikachu beak first. The Pidgey, meanwhile, does its best to get away from the Spearow and dives down a few more branches DaveDave comes around the bend to notice a small ursine Pokemon, a Teddiursa, crying out as it reaches up and attempts to grab a berry out of a tree, but it's just outside of its reach. Sizing it up, Dave can tell it's fairly powerful for its age, though not as strong as Hal, naturally. It doesn't seem to have noticed him yet Level 12, Patient nature, Normal type, and Pickup

The Spearow landed a peck on Bolt, but a few angry birds don't count for much to a thunder mouse. The Spearow may have even immediately regretted its decision as static electricity played across its body.
"Bolt, stay focused and use Thunder Shock! We have to help that Pidgey!," Jack said, pointing at the nearby Spearow. Jack looked back at the Pidgey as Bolt unleashed his electrifying attack, hoping that it would be able to hang on long enough for Bolt to finish off these Spearow...

Sizing up the situation, Dave considers that he has three options right now. One is to walk away now, and try to get outside the range of its crying - but, given what he knows about things crying, they travel annoyingly far. So, that can be plan B. Or plan C. Nice thing about the alphabet is that there's so many plans to choose from. His second option is to try battling the thing, and attempt capture. Though, it's really in no fit state for battling, and attacking something that doesn't want to fight... doesn't really sit well with him. So, that leaves the third option. Which, really is the easiest. And probably the one that would shut it up quickest. Deciding to proceed with that, he walks over to the bush, picks the two berries off of it, and hands one down to the bear. He peers at the other in his hand, attempting to identify it. Or at least seeing if he can recognize it as a non-poisonous type. Gen Edu to identify berry: 13

Luke kneels down next to he Lillipup in front of him, having gathered that he wasn't sure what to do in a fight. "Don't worry too much. Just do what feels right, stick to what you know. Show them what you're made off, little one. You can do it, I know it." He speaks gently to the Lillipup, encouraging the small canine. "Let's start of simple. Tackle!"Luke binds Plainly Perfect for 2 AP The Lillipup uses Tackle! AC2: 16, 22+Attack Physical Normal Type Damage

Jack
Bolt released the electric attack on command, blasting the little bird and causing it to cry out in anger and fear. It quickly turned away from the electric mouse and turned tail, favouring its left wing. However it wasn't just running away..
As the static electricity pulses along the birds feathers, it takes off after the Pidgey, trying to get away from Bolt and help its friend take out the other bird, who continues to weave around the branches, leading the Spearow on a chase.
Luke
The Lillipup nods in appreciation as Luke gives it the pep talk and then guides it through the battle. It rushes at the other dog and pushes it back a few meters when they collide. However, the smaller pup wasn't giving up quite so easily. After a small coughing fit, it charged forward and bit Lukes new friend who howled out in pain, the air around its mouth distorting as if it was an especially hot day.
Luke knew that Lillipup, like the Poochyena that Team Plasma had used, were able to learn the elemental fang moves, and it seemed this one might be able to tap into some source and use Fire Fang....
Dave
Dave quickly recognizes the berry as an Oran, one of the most common berries back in Hoenn. The little bear sits down with the berry and begins to quickly devour it, looking up at Dave with a look of pure adoration, it's mouth stained blue by the berry juice. "Ursa!" It exclaims happily as it attempts to talk to the Trainer.
However, something doesn't sit right with Dave....

"Oh, uh, hi there," Dave says. "You seem young to be out all alone. There's, uh," he looks around, a bit nervously, "Not your mother around just waiting to maul me, is there?" Hal may be good, he thinks, keeping one hand on the Porygon's Pokéball, But not enough to handle an angry Ursaring. I've heard the stories... He does carefully put the other berry into his bag, though... and trying to make sure it doesn't explode. The blue berries tend to have the most extraordinary staining powers...
