Luke flinches slightly as Jack claps him on the shoulder, but doesn't react to it otherwise.
He gives a weak smile as Jack talks, still looking somewhat... fragile. "It's okay, really. You had no way to know."
He's quiet for a few moments, before smiling a bit broader at Jack. "And yeah. I'll take a couple of good friends over a trio of bad brothers any day."

Jack smiles back at him, squeezing his shoulder reassuringly. "Definitely, and not just good friends. Best friends," he says with a grin, cocking his head to one side.
"So...what kind of foods do you like? Any favorites?," Jack said, trying to change the subject to something more cheerful, "and I don't guess you have any idea what Jacq or Dave might like either, huh? I'd kind of like to make him something nice, as a peace offering after that team battle...I just don't know what kind of food he likes. Or if he likes anything for that matter...," Jack said, trying to make a joke. "At this point I'd just settle for a kind of food that he doesn't hate," he said with a mock frown, a playful glint in his eyes.

Jacqueline smiles slight at the register-boy as he responds, a slight smirk growing on her face as she speaks with her foreign affectation. "What, this is the only place that would hire you? I find that hard to believe, you aren't that bad looking, and you seem to have at least somewhat of a desire to work. Although I suppose knowledge could be the issue..." She pauses a moment, seemingly thinking, then randomly pulls some fabric off a nearby shelf, and gestures it towards him. "Quiz! Tell me everything you can about this fabric, and maybe a few suggestions on what sort of clothing item it would be best made into."

Luke shrugs. "I ... don't really have a favourite... don't really like spicy foods though, but other than that..." he shrugs again, "I don't really mind."
He smiles at Jack's remark. "Yeah, that might be a tough one."

Dave
Dave was able to finish up his shopping without incident, people finally calming down enough that no one even bothered him. At least until he began to head out onto the Route to the next town.
"Excuse me, mister?" a small voice sounded out from behind "You're name is Dave, right? I saw you on the TV in the Tournament! You're really strong!" A small child, no older than six or seven was standing behind Dave, his face marked with the signs of recently crying
Jacqueline
The boy yawned and tilted his head "Really, you pick up Kalosian Silk and act like it was an accident, little miss Lumoise?" He laughed "Fine, it's made by harvesting the silk from Spewpa, because it holds together better than either Scatterbug or Vivallions, though the main people like it is because it can catch light in a variety of colors, having a different shade depending on how you look at it, like a prism. They theorize that it has something to do with Vivallions changing pattern depending on where they're from. As for what it"s for? Most commonly it's used for dresses and other such garments for high class gatherings, though I'm sure you know that" He says with a sly smirk
Luke and Jack
The grocery shopping was going smoothly, and for once the pair wasnt under the ever watching eye of the drones, the machines not being able to make it into the building.
A few people point and wave, but overall, the experience is quite tranquil, though the basket was quickly filling up

Freshly restocked up on Pokéballs, Dave heads out for the town. Unfortunately, just as it seems that he'll be able to get away scot free... alas, life decides that he could never be so lucky. He turns to see who'd spoken - it hadn't been a voice that he recognized.
He inwardly winces a little bit at the signs of crying, remembering the last time he'd gotten involved with something crying. Thankfully this one is less likely to end with him getting a gash. Besides, the kid seemed to be at the impressionable age, so, might as well make a good impression.
"Yes, that's me," he says, nodding, before crouching down to the kid's level, "But it's nothing that anyone else couldn't do. One day, you could be there - or further - if that's what your goal is. Don't let anyone tell you different." He gives a small smile. "Was there something you wanted, kid? Uh, sorry. You know my name, but I don't know yours."

Jacqueline rolls her eyes as the boy calls his 'Miss Lumiose', a look of mock annoyance forming on her face. "That'd be Miss Snowbelle to you, not Lumiose. If you assume that every Kalosian is from Lumiose, you might end up offending some of the more stuck up ones."
She holds a stern look for as long as she can, which isn't every long, a smile cracking on her face. "But anyways, I'd say you pass the quiz, with flying colors even, so you obviously aren't an idiot either. Almost makes me think you could have actually hunted down a different job, if you'd tried a bit harder." She pauses, and then a sly look crosses her face as she leans on the counter, leaning in towards the clerk. "In fact, you almost seemed to know too much about that fabric. Are you sure that this was the only job you could find, or is that just the excuse to use to hide your hidden passion for fashion?"

"I'll keep that in mind. Easy on the spices for ya," Jack said, making a mental note. After going through the checkout, Jack paid up and packed away the food, still holding some in bags--what he planned to cook soon, at least. (Spent $2000pyen on food scrap)
"There, all stocked up," Jack said, relieved. "Hmm, they said I could use the kitchen at the Pokemon Center, but I don't want to head all the way back there...is there a park nearby where I could set up my cooking kit and we could do some training?," he asked Luke.

Dave
The small boy looked up at Dave "My name is Aaron" He sort of hesitated and kicked the dirt a little before continuing "See the thing is, I met these guys, who said that my Pokemon was unhappy being stuck in a Pokeball all the time. That I was doing something bad by keeping him, and if I really was his friend, I would let him free, to pick what to do on his own"
The boy began to choke up and a few small tears formed in the corners of his eyes "When I let him out of his Pokeball, they grabbed him and ran away" The tears began to fall in earnest at this point as Aaron struggled to get out the last of what he wanted to say "But you're real strong, and, and I'm sure if you found them you could get my friend back for me. Please....He's my best friend in the whole world"
Jacqueline
The boy rolled his eyes "Did you seriously use the term 'passion for fashion' ugh you sound as hip as a 92 year old from Lacunosa Town" He laughed at his own joke before pushing himself up from the counter "Anyways, mademoiselle Snowbelle, I get a ton of questions about these kinds of things, so I had to study up quick. Before starting here I couldn't tell a Cottonee blend from a Caterpie Silk, but some time on the web and in the library fixed that."
He looked at the small collection of Pokeballs at Jacqueline's side "Ah I see now, you must have been in town for the Tournament a town over, I've been trying to figure out why someone like you would be someplace like this since you walked in. That makes sense of it. Though, I don't remember seeing you during the broadcast, so you musn't be very good, which I guess makes sense with it being a tournament about battling, and not running away" He says with a wink
Luke and Jack
Checkout went smoothly, Jack and Luke both cradling bags full of various goodies, Bolt eyeing the bags greedily before Gawain pulled his attention away.
As the duo left the store, Luke was able to guide them back to where he had left Jacq. Looking through the window, they saw her talking to a boy around her age, maybe a bit older, who seems to be chuckling about something. It seemed she had just finished up her purchase, based on the bag of fabric sitting between the two

"Hmmm." Dave frowns at that. "Well, Aaron, I'll see what I can do about getting your friend back. What those people did wasn't right. Can you tell me what your friend and those guys looked like, and if you saw which way they went?" Even as he's talking, he's getting a bit of a sinking feeling. At first, he'd figured that it was just some older kids pulling a cruel prank, but now he's getting flashes back to the tournament...

Jacqueline smiles and nods along with the boy as he talks along, right until the end. The shift in her demeanor is jarring to those who don't know her, her eyes shifting from bubbly happiness to cold disdain in milliseconds. "You didn't see me in the tournament because I wasn't here to participate in it. And, next time you think you're hitting it off with a girl, maybe don't try to flirt with an insulting stereotype, asshole." Jacqueline doesn't particularly wait for a reply, and if he says anything, she doesn't listen to it, grabbing her stuff off the counter and striding out of the building towards Luke and Jack, seething anger set in her expression.

Luke smiles and waves as Jacqueline approaches, but his face quickly falls when he notices her mood, concern growing. "Everything okay, Jacqeline? Something went wrong?" He begins fidgeting with the cords of his hoodie.

Jack followed Luke. He was about to make a comment about Jacqueline's...impressive stamina...when it came to shopping when she stormed out in a huff.
Jack adjusted the bags he was carrying, shifting the weight. He was getting tired of carrying them around...but couldn't help but notice something had upset Jacqueline. "Yeah...you alright Jacqueline?," he asked, parroting Luke.

Jacqueline's expression softens mildly as she walks up to the younger boys, but just a little bit. She sighs loudly and shakes her head, pinching her nose. "It's nothing, I'm just annoyed. The idiot in there thinks that insulting my Kalosian heritage is the same thing as flirting."
She shrugs, attempting to shake the negative emotions off. "Anyways, lets get going, shall we?"

Dave
Aaron sniffed loudly "My friend is a Riolu named Riley. And..And all of the guys were wearing the same weird white and blue clothes. I...I thought it was some kind of uniform like the police and that I could trust them, but they ran off with Riley before I could even react to what was happening. I think I heard them mention something about a Dreamyard? But I'm not really sure what that means. There were a lot of them though...like five? And I bet there are more wherever they're going. But you're real strong mister, I'm sure you can save him!"

"I see," Dave says, nodding. "Riolu are rare and strong, steadfast companions. I can see why they would take him. But, they could never unlock his true power like you could." Dave smiles at Aaron. "Because he needs a good friend to become a Lucario. I'll do my best to get him back." He thinks for a moment, wondering how he would go about this. "You said that you let him out of his Pokéball. Was that just your typical release? Or did you actually fully release him? Because if it was just the first one, that might make things easier, if he could just be recalled..." This was going to take some planning. And searching. Thankfully, either his PokéNav or the Center should have what this 'Dreamyard' is. But, the numbers problem is something else to consider...

"Sure," Jack said. He pulled up the location of a nearby park on his 'dex, after a little rearranging of his grocery bags, and they headed there. The park was quiet enough. Green grass fields and a few trees here and there, as well as picnic tables with plenty of carvings. Jack headed for a small covered patio with an outdoor grill and sink area. Once there he let out all of his pokemon to play while he prepared their (late) brunch, as well as food for the others, to their liking. Before long there was a veritable mound of cooling pokemon food and numerous zip-locked bags full of different treats of different kinds--sweets, savories, and so on. Once the food (and the dishes) were done, Jack sat down with the others to eat. "I'm sorry this is so late. I didn't expect to get into a battle so early," he said apologetically. The fact that he had been injured the night before due to the fight with that Honchkrow didn't really help either. Once the food was done it was time to train. First Jack pulled the Pidgey aside. He wanted to make sure the little bird wanted to actually travel with him, and once that was settled he gave the bird the name Chuck, after a story he'd heard a long time ago. Jack apologized to Tye for how the earlier battle had gone, promising to do better in the future to avoid situations like that, and set to training his pokemon, inviting Luke and Jacqueline to join in for some joint training. Cooking 14 Baby Food and a number of buff foods, 9 in total. All are listed on my sheet. Applying EXP Training to Pokemon after they eat. Giving 3 baby food to Luke and 2 baby food to Jacqueline.

Luke, having fed his mon, sits a bit by the side of the field, takes out his grooming kit and starts grooming them, giving some extra attention to his new mon. As he's working with Palamedes, he is talking to him, first explaining to him how he trains his mon, what he wants for them, and how he is going to help them achieve that. Then, he starts assuring him, telling him that he's a lot stronger than he thinks he is, and that there's no need to be so afraid, so careful all the time, that he has a right to be heard, to be assertive. It would seem the talk helped, as the little pup looks a whole lot more confident, adamant even, after the training. Feeding Maia, Abbadon and Palamedes the Baby Food, exp training for those three, Focused Training for all, using Type Ace, Extra Ordinary and Changing Viewpoints on Palamedes, spending 3 TP, giving him Type Strategist, Last CHance and changing his Nature from Careful to Adamant.
Palamedes gains a level, is now level 12, and has gained +1 Speed. Can learn Helping Hand, won't though.

Dave
Aaron sniffed "I just let him out like normal..." He rummaged around in his pocket and produced an empty green Pokeball with yellow circles on it "This is Riley's Pokeball. If you get close enough, you should be able to recall him"
His eyes grew wide "Are you really gonna go get him all by yourself?"
He rushed forward and hugged Dave "Thank you so much Mister Dave!" He says as he breaks off "If you get him back in his Pokeball, you should be able to send him back through the PC system, so you don't have to come all the way back here and can keep going towards being the Champion!"
Jack, Jacq, and Luke
After his time with Luke, Palamedes was not only standing with more confidence but his very cry seemed to have got deeper.
The park was calm, being pretty much empty other than the three of of you and your Pokemon so you were able to complete both your meal and training in peace. Though while everyone was eating, Bolt and couldn't decide if they would rather play or eat, which resulted in the amusing scene of Bolt standing on top of a table, cheeks bursting with food, pointing behind Gawain to cause the Eevee to turn around before jumping down and taking off with a little of his food as well, though Gawain did eventually catch up with him and Bolt gave it back without a fight
As the sun passes its zenith in the sky, and begins its descent downward, a few people filter into the park, though not near enough to cause any discomfort to the three of you or your Pokemon.
It seemed as though if you left soon, following the shortcut that Luke knows, you could make it to the next town by nightfall, and even challenge the gym the next morning if you felt inclined to
