Clay is starting to wonder how he wound up quite this far out of his league. He's not giving up yet, though. Unfortunately, Mufomono only has so many useful attacks to deal with this thing. It's going to be resistant to the next move, but it's really Clay's only option.
"C'mon, finish it off! Bite!" Pushing against the sandy vortex, Mufomono launches herself forward to snap her long jaws at the bigger crocodile.

Clay considers the small bird thoughtfully. Flying-types are still a bit of a hole in his strategy, with no Rock or Electric moves to call on, so it's mostly a question of avoiding someone who'd do badly. After a moment's thought, he sends out Red Child. The Growlithe prowls in front of him as he sizes up his opponent.
"You know, I tried to find you once or twice, see if I could get any tips. Didn't realize you'd been all the way on the other side of the ocean." Clay shrugs his shoulders fluidly. "Whatever happens today... no hard feelings, huh? No point holding a grudge when you did your best. And anybody who can evolve a Pokémon in two days has me beat in one way, at least." That doesn't stop him baring his teeth in a grin as he watches her across the ring.
"Now, Red Child... show your teeth!" Red Child gives a long, threatening growl, his eyes fixed on the bird - then he leaps at it, fangs snapping!
Red Child's init: 14 (18 if Agility Training is used as orders) Clay's init: 14 (if it matters)

"Whoa!" Clay jerks back, but not quite far enough to avoid Ashley's flaming punch. Ouch, that hurts! He swings his staff back at her, a driving blow with the end of it that he hopes will knock the wind out of her. "Can everybody do that trick but me?"
Of course, he's got tricks of his own. He leaps right over Ashley's head to land behind her, putting his back to Red Child. "Stay on your toes, buddy! We can handle these two!" Red Child is whining quietly - getting pecked hurts - but he growls and snaps at the Fletchinder again, hoping to take some of the wind out of its sails. He turns around quickly to bare his teeth at Ashley - who's this fiery-headed human who wants to burn his alpha?
Clay uses Bash! on Ashley! AC 3 vs CYiYmgYM1d20; on 15+, target's Initiative drops to 0 2d10+22 Physical Normal damage Clay uses Splash! He makes a single Jump at High Jump 3, Long Jump 5, and gains +2 Evasion until the end of his next turn. Clay uses Agility Orders as a Swift Action.

Clay hisses in pain as the flame burns his skin. Really hisses, a crackling, popping noise like a bonfire collapsing - something from Flower's language that he's pretty sure is an actual curse. "You really wanna make this personal? We could. But the last girl who made it personal, my friend blew her eardrums out."
Despite the pain, he leaps up, lifting himself right off the ground with his staff for leverage to aim a kick right at her center of mass. Red Child bites savagely at Fletchinder once more, hoping to bring the bird down before its sharp beak can come into play again.

The quick jab is enough to put Red Child out for the count, just barely - he falls down with a whine, even with his teeth locked in the bird's feathers, and Clay growls under his breath as he's hit with another fiery punch. "Your bird's gonna regret that. C'mon, Baloo, show 'em what we're made of!"
After Red Child's fall, Clay decides a sturdier Pokémon would serve well, especially with the bird down. Baloo grunts as he drops heavily onto the field, stomping his feet like a sumo wrestler and glaring at the turtle that replaced it. Clay lets out a low growl in Baloo's bearlike language. "Go for it! Comet Punch!"
The two of them turn toward their respective opponents - Baloo lashes out at the turtle with a flurry of rapid-fire punches, while Clay swings his staff at Ashley again, aiming for a brain-rattling strike. Even if he doesn't take her down, he hopes he can at least make her back off and give himself some breathing space.

Ashley is sent spinning, only barely keeping her feet. She shakes her head, dazed briefly, but lashes out anyway. The turtle doesn't even feel the blows from Baloo landing, and just sort of snorts a bit of smoke. Even so, it's shell lets out even more smoke and steam.

That last punch sends Clay reeling, barely on his own feet and breathing hard. Now looks like a good time for him to get out of the line of fire - he dances away from Ashley's and her Torkoal's attacks, trying to keep himself out of reach. He lets out a sort of honking, barking sound. "C'mon, buddy, time to power up!" A fiery red aura swirls around Clay's fists, and mirrors itself around Baloo's paws.
Then he looks up at Ashley. "Okay, okay. So we can both beat six kinds of Mankey crap out of each other. Let's see if you spent as much time training your Pokémon as you did learning to burn people, huh?" Frustrated by the Torkoal's thick shell, Baloo brings his paw down in an overhand chop, trying to find a weak point.
Clay binds Spirit Boost as a swift action. Baloo gains +5 bonus Physical damage.

With you retreating, Ashley decides to step back as well, satisfied that she punched you enough to get the message across.
"Conflag, show it how to really do some damage."
The turtle suddenly curls up and rolls forward, crashing into Baloo. Ashley binds Incandescence and uses Focused Orders.

Baloo staggers back, yelping in pain, and Clay hisses between his teeth again, his hand going to his chest where the turtle struck Baloo. Apparently the deeper connection has some disadvantages - he's getting Baloo's pain unfortunately clearly. "Come on, you won't go down that easy! Hit him again!"
He's wishing he'd just pulled out all the stops and sent out Sandy, but too late now. Baloo goes for another chop, powering through the pain to try and land a solid blow on the turtle.
