Adventure Thread - Group A

Rei giggles. 

"I really don't think there's anything else to do without Sano, so until he shows up I believe we can go now!"

"Oh, uh..." Great job, Clay, you got her attention - especially with Tiki and Rei already shifting their attention to the beach - and you're either going to have to own up or tell a really convincing lie. Clay's aware that his poker face could use work, so he sighs and goes with the truth. "I grew up with an Infernape troop on the other side of the mountain. Don't actually know how I got there. So I can fight and swing on trees and talk to Pokémon and stuff. I... only found out about other humans like a year ago. You, uh, remember all those weird stories about a monkey guy out on the edges of farms around then? That was me and Fan here."

Fan has been doing a surprisingly good job of staying still so far, but when she hears herself being introduced she scrambles up to Clay's shoulder and mimics a bow. Clay continues, "Master Nob from Saffron found me and taught me how this whole human thing works."

If he was going to say anything else, he's interrupted by Tiki grabbing his arm, preparatory to dragging him off again, probably.

Tiki waves happily, and with a burst of unnatural strength, pulls her friends down to the beach. "WE'RE GOING TO THE BEACH!!!!"

Tiki's eyes sparkle, as she runs towards the water while shredding off her clothes. "WOOHOOOOOO!!!" She runs into the waves in her undies! 

Rei giggles as Tiki races off to the water while disrobing. She merely finds a rock to sit on, and settles down there, keeping the umbrella over her, consider her light skin would burn fairly easy in this sun. She lets all five of her pokemon out to have their own beach fun. Raido merely sits down, letting the sun bear down on it's leafy pelt. Hari, being the future fire type, flies a bit away from the waters itself, instead finding food to nibble from the sands and surrounding area. Shinpuru bolts for the water, being a very eager bidoof and hits the water, swimming happily around Tiki. (Although still occasionally staring Tiki down as a potential threat to Rei, but only when she's not looking) Zumu, being of a similar type to Shinpuru, also trots to the water, a bit lazier than the other normal type. Sheru makes his way down himself, and floats around in the water like a little helmet boat. Until Shinpuru notices and begins gnashing his teeth in the water like a hungry Sharpedo and chases after Sheru.

This is the closest Clay's ever been to the ocean. He's really not sure how to feel about it. It's not that he's afraid of water - Clay would strenuously insist he's not actually afraid of anything, and in any case he's done the 'meditating under a waterfall' thing, probably more easily than the Chimchar he grew up with. But it's so big. Why is it so big? He's not sure he trusts it.

Fan is even less enthusiastic about it. Luckily there are other things she can enjoy doing on the beach; Empress and Tower's game of 'King of the Rock' is familiar and she joins in eagerly, though she quickly develops an unfortunate habit of using Tower's tough shell as a stepping stone. Once Clay lets his other Pokémon out, Red Child sets off to join Star and Justice running around... though it may look a bit more like he's chasing them, when he isn't getting distracted by interesting smells on the tideline. Flower takes shelter from the sun under Rei's umbrella - evidently creatures of the night are not keen on sunny beaches. Only Sandy and Baloo make their way into the water confidently, at which point Baloo promptly starts a splashfight. Apparently Pancham parents don't teach their cubs not to challenge a Water-type to a splash fight.

Clay hangs around at the water's edge, splashing in the waves as they come up the beach. "This water feels... weird. Doesn't feel like the water in the river at all." Over his shoulder, he calls to Rei, "Is there something weird about the water in the ocean? It feels weird."

"It's full of... salt?" Clay frowns. "Like a big soup somebody put too much in? How did it get there?" Soup is really Clay's only reference point for salt dissolving in water.

He leans down to wet his hand and rubs his fingers together. "It feels kinda sticky. Is that the salt?" He ventures out a little farther, enough that he's actually in danger of getting his clothes wet. Maybe it's like a bath and taking your clothes off is okay? He's honestly not sure. Master Nob had to work hard to get him to live with clothes to start with and he's still uncertain about context there.

"Nobody put it there, Clay, that's just how it is."

Before she can continue, Tiki runs up to her, looking just a 'tad' indecent, and Rei covers her eyes but laughs.

"Tiki, really. And I think I'll just stay here, what I use for undergarments might not survive the water, so I'll stay here and stay decent for now. Perhaps while we are in town we can find something else for me to wear so we can come back! I'd rather not go in my kimono, I've already damaged one, and ruined a second."

Rei, when wanting to stay in one spot, really can't be moved. It's like a rock. The situation looks rather silly with Rei having one hand over her eyes and one hand 'attempting' to be pulled by Tiki.

"Tiki, I wouldn't go in with my Kimono considering the salt would damage it, so I would need to undress like you, and then what I have on would break apart, leaving me in a very undecent state. Not one I'm comfortable being in. Also, you really 'can't' move me if I'm not willing. I know I'm much stronger than you. It will have to be another time."5d6+2
