It's a tight fit to get in, but once in it isn't too badly cramped. Seems like you can only walk single-file though, so you'll have to pick who is going first.

"Hey, wait up!" Unless Rei makes any particular attempt to stop him, Clay will wriggle into the gap after Tiki; Fan darts ahead of him, trying to catch up with Tiki and give her some light. Of course, he remembers how tall Rei is, so after a moment Clay turns around and offers her a hand. "Need help? Or can you make it?"

The crack just barely allows for Rei to enter by ducking down as Clay pulls her through. Once inside, the pair quickly catch up to Tiki and Fan, following the tunnel down further below the earth. After what feels like an eternity, the narrow tunnel opens up into a large cavern. If one were to hazard a guess, they might say this cavern is at least 100 ft or more below the path through the mountain. Sitting in the center is what appears to be a statue of a Pokemon, though it isn't one the group recognizes.
Suddenly, its eyes flash a deep green and the statue begins to move. It stands up to its full height... of around 4'3". When it speaks, its voice seems to resonate within the party's heads, as well as echoing through the chamber.
"HUMANS! WHY HAVE YOU COME HERE?"
Despite appearing like a Pokemon, everyone understands its words with perfect clarity. This must be the Guardian.

Tiki's eyes go wide, and she tilts her head. "Uhhhhh......Hello! We came to investigate the tremors. We believe it was because the guardian of the mountain was angry....You are the angry guardian....right?"

For such a small thing, its presence surely is frightening when it wants. The pink creature might even seem a demon in the right lighting conditions.

Despite how this guardian looks, Rei can feel the power eeking out of it. She looks up, and gives a bow, regardless.
"We were seeking you because we were sent to find you to aide in stopping the way these workers are drilling through Mt Moon. We had heard you were cause tremors and it would only intensify with time. We don't want people hurt, but we also need your help in stopping them."

"SO YOU WERE UNABLE TO CONVINCE THE OTHER HUMAN. THE ONE IN COMMAND OF THE DRILLING. THE TREMORS WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE UNTIL IT STOPS. IF MINOR TREMORS ARE NOT ENOUGH, PERHAPS I SHOULD COLLAPSE THEIR TUNNELS AROUND THEM." Seeing the look on your faces, it adds "FEAR NOT. THEY SHALL NOT BE HARMED. THIS TIME."

Clay finally gets over his shock at the size of the guardian enough to say something. He just wasn't expecting the guardian to be the size of his Infernape relatives, tops.
"I... don't think that's gonna help. He's pretty stubborn. He'd probably just say it was normal earth shaking or something." He sits down on the cavern floor, frowning thoughtfully. "See, he's not convinced you exist, and he really wants this tunnel through fast. Which is weird 'cause there aren't any humans on the other side of the mountain. 'Cept me and I'm not even there anymore." At least, to the best of Clay's knowledge, there aren't any other humans living west of Mt. Moon.
He drums his fingers on the floor as Fan imitates his thoughtful pose. She's not so great on the whole meditating thing yet but she can do lotus position quite well for a Pokémon with such short hind legs.
"So you want the digging to be quieter. And he thinks quieter tools aren't fast enough. And he's not gonna listen to us about what you want, 'cause he doesn't believe in you and he doesn't really like us anyway." He's repeating himself now, but he's trying to think through this. "I dunno if he'd fit in here, but maybe you could come out and talk to him? If he knows you exist maybe he'll take you more seriously, and then nobody needs a tunnel dropped on their head."

"IT WILL BEGIN WITH THE DESTRUCTION OF THEIR HARMFUL TOOLS. IT WILL CONTINUE WITH COLLAPSING TUNNELS JUST AS A HUMAN LEAVES THEIR 'WORK STATION'. IF PRESSED FURTHER, BLOOD WILL BE SHED. ARMED WITH THIS KNOWLEDGE, IF YOU ARE STILL UNABLE TO PERSUADE THE HUMANS, I SHALL DEAL WITH IT MYSELF."

Tiki nods in understanding. "Okie Doike! We can all meet up at near the entrance to the cave in the morning." She takes a sigh of relief, and looks to her friends. "Anything else?"

Clay hops up off the floor nimbly. "Maybe you've got something we can show him to prove we've been here? He's kind of a jerk, I don't know if he'll believe us even if we do tell him what you told us."

It's still fairly light out, as you only appear to have been down there for about an hour or two. The Foreman and his workers have all gone home for the day to (reluctantly) give you time to sort out this "Guardian" business. It does occur to you that the Foreman (whom you spoke to before) mentioned that it was his boss that was pushing the deadlines and such. Maybe if you find this person you can convince them where you couldn't truly convince the foreman. Then you wouldn't have to worry about any of the bad stuff the Guardian mentioned!
