"I mean, you both are here and aren't freaking out so I assume everyone is ok? What happened? And did Zoey run off with her then?"

As if on cue, a half-asleep Zoey comes tumbling down the inn stairs, drawing everyone's attention. She rolls right to her feet, however, seemingly unharmed. "I'm okay! I'm awake now!" She proclaims.

Tiki waves to Zoey, and glares back at Rei. "Almost! Would've liked to have been filled in on this situation. There was almost an incident when we got to the plains. Zoey, and Miss G almost got hurt! Damage could've been avoided if there was a discussion had!" Tiki hmphs, and blows some hair out of her face.

"Well, she tried to jump in on D'Mara's side - she didn't know what was going on, just that somebody was fighting her mom. Miss G's big dog stopped her from hitting and then just kinda... sat on her. You know like I used to threaten to have Red Child do? So that part was okay."
Clay shakes his head. "You aren't gonna believe the next part, though. See, we'd gone down to the plains 'cause we were hoping to find Entei, after Tiki saw him there before. And, well... it came to us. Entei, and Raikou, and Suicune." Clay's been wondering, in the back of his head, whether this means Raikou intends to find Rei at some point... After all, there's three of them.

Tiki waves her arms about in excitement. "All 3 of those legendaries showed up! They then fought D'mara, and she ran off! It was incredible! But, the best part..." Tiki holds out her hand, and after concentrating for a moment, her eyes give off a blue sparkle when they hit the light. Then some faint, blue wisps crawl up Tiki's arm, and a translucent, crystal shape floats on Tiki's hand. "We got a gift...This is from Suicune. It seems it's going to help us." Tiki smiles as she senses what feels like cool water washing over her hand.

Rei glares back at Tiki. She's not in any mood to deal with this right now, not with everything else on her mind.
"Look, ok. There was no way that I would know that D'mara would have been out there. But you and I aren't on calm talking terms anymore, if those expressions of yours aren't clear."
She sighs, and turns to them both.
"Alright, look. I'm still right. If I told her when I met her or shortly after, she wouldn't be here right now. She would have ran off and joined her-"
Rei looks as Zoey falls down the stairs.
"-And she wouldn't be here now. Lady Genevivie being there seemed to help keep her for a moment so she didn't do more rash things."
Hearing the fact that legends actually stepped in to save all of them and THEN gave Clay and Tiki a god-like gift as a result... That upsets Rei. Her friend was mind controlled and tried to kill her with her life on the line and nothing happened until after Rei beat her. The only one who has offered her anything was very literally the reaper offering her a deal. Any other dealings with one just are demanding her to fight for them. The only person to help with Holly's issues was her own sister, who only cursed her in return.
She turns away.
"It seems like you were all very lucky..."

Clay makes a quiet, thoughtful noise. "... You know, they don't think like humans do. Or even the same way normal Pokémon do. I didn't get any impression like that off of Xerneas, though, so maybe it's different for them. But there are three of them. If you went out there with us, maybe..."
He sighs and trails off. "Anyway. I got a pass from Miss G to get into the Archives. I know you said you didn't think we'd find anything new there, but is there anything you think I should look for, anyway?"

"...I have no reason to head out there. I doubt they would show up without someone like D'mara out there again."
Hopefully that should put an end to that thought for Clay. He's been blessed by a legendary, which is fine for now until they start asking him for their end of the deal. Then he'll know.
"As for the Archives... well outside of your family things... if you can find any info on D'mara and how and/or why she got the dark branch started. I found some of her notes after meeting Zoey in her house. Something happened to her about three years ago that prompted a personality change. Before then she was doing..."
Rei stops as she remembers the 'pairing documents' and shakes it off.
"Well not what she is doing now. Outside of asking the 'Time Traveler' for help looking into the past, I'm not sure how to find out. Maybe if we can get his help, narrowing the time down would assist in finding the event that caused it."

Tiki grumbles about knowing what her expressions are, and turns away from Rei. She was obviously jealous, and always thought she was so right all the time. Tiki just rolled her eyes, and popped in when D'mara was mentioned. "Miss G didn't have any info on her either. Said she was like that since she had been there. Also, we kind of had some way of findin the other legends, but how do we even start findin a time traveler?"

"Looking at the start of the Dark Branch sounds like a good idea, yeah. Miss G said D'Mara turned up about two and a half years ago, so not long after you and Zoey say she changed." Clay drums his fingers on the table thoughtfully, distracted from his thoughts about Raikou. "I have to wonder what changed, even if it's probably not in the archives. 'Cause if three years ago is when she got Yveltal's power, she went crazy with power really fast, but if it's only when she started looking, what made her start?" Well, either she went mad with power or Yveltal's personality changed hers somehow, which doesn't say very good things about the late god of death.
He rubs the back of his neck. "I haven't heard anything from Darkrai yet, but it's only been three nights. It was usually weeks between the nightmares, before. If we talk with it somehow, yeah, the time traveler... whatever it is. You didn't run across it in anything you read, did you?" Clay wrinkles his nose a little; he blames a lot of Rei's change in attitude on Cresselia's envoy, even with everything else that went on around the time the envoys visited and Rei left the Guild. Then again, he might be projecting from his own reaction to Darkrai's emissary and her abrasive demeanor.

"To be honest, from the read of the notes, I actually thing something happened to her and THEN she went after Yveltal. There's claims of her wanting power, so I think that led to her going to find it."
She sighs when she hears about the news.
"You'd think time is of the essence with the way they talk but they sure don't act like it... Alright. Just keep that in mind if you do get in contact. Otherwise, I really haven't heard of who this legendary could be so I do not know."

"I mean, seeing as Darkrai's who warned us about this to start with, I still think it's doing the best it can and has some sort of weird limit. I mean, besides only sending nightmares. That part's a pain." He rubs his forehead. "So, did you find out anything new yesterday? You said something about the ruins under the city?"

She pauses.
"I won't lie, the main reason I'm looking into this is for a fortified backup for our upcoming fight. Everyone seems to think it'll be a one big fight, but this is a war. We need somewhere to retreat to if things get bad. And an underground city can easily be fortified..."
Rei rubs her temples.

If it winds up looking like the nightmares, I'm guessing the longer it gets drawn out, the stronger she gets." Clay shudders a little and shakes his head. "If there's any possibility of taking her down all at once, it's better for everybody to do it that way."
He hums thoughtfully. "But if the underground city's got a way into her house, then maybe we can find answers about what happened to her down there. And maybe even some way to undo it. So yeah, exploring down there might be important even if we don't need a hideout."
Clay's mostly already eaten, but Fan leans over his shoulder to snatch a few remaining morsels from his plate. He tweaks her ear gently and continues, "So, do you have any plans for today? If nothing else is up I was gonna go check out the Archives today, but I know you won't wanna come along for that." What with refusing to go back to Saffron and all.
