Star is befuddled by the contrasting info she's getting. She backs away from the strange "Eevee," and comes back to Tiki. Tiki herself doesn't seem to mind much as she's preoccupied with the hyper new person. "Um. Zoey, right? Neat name. I'm Tiki. I like your Eevee."

"Uh, hi, Zoey. Nice to meet you. I'm Clay. And hi to you, too, ZsaZsa." Clay's a little startled by Zoey's abrupt switch from sleepy to perky.
He crouches down and yaps out a quick greeting in Eevee-talk - he can imitate Eevee pretty well, since Star's been with Tiki as long as he's known them and there are so many more of them between Tiki and Rei's teams. He reaches out with the familiar part of his spirit to connect with it. "Hey, there. I'm the girl with white hair's friend. I can sorta understand Pokémon so you can talk to me if you want!"
He straightens back up and turns back to Rei. "Um, is Zoey in on the whole thing we're doing?" Translation: can we talk about our chosen one thing around her.

Zoey glances back at the "Eevee", stifling a giggle. "Yes, she's great. Meeting new people is fun! Especially for ZsaZsa. She gets new people than just the servants who know all her tricks to mess with." Zoey states with a grin.
Clay reaches out with his spirit-thingy to the "Eevee" and is quickly just as confused as Star. It looks like an Eevee, but it doesn't feel like an Eevee. It feels like something else entirely. All ZsaZsa does though is offer him a lopsided grin. Maybe it's just got a funny personality?

Tiki tilts her head again. "Servants? Fancy. The place I stay at has some butlers, and maids." Star cautiously watches the other "Eevee," and barks out to Clay. "That no Eevee!"

Rei shifts a bit uncomfortably, bringing up things she doesn't want to talk about quite yet. But at least meeting Zoey distracted the others from their own uncomfortable questions to her.

"Yeah, I know. It's weird. Doesn't seem like it's hurting anyone right now. Let's wait and see." Clay gives ZsaZsa a slightly suspicious look, but shrugs and smiles back at it. He can understand Star being concerned, but honestly he doesn't want to make ZsaZsa angry when they've just met.
"Haven't talked about it yet - so does that mean you were gonna? I just wanna know whether we can talk about it in front of her or not." Never mind that they already are, obliquely.

Holly watches with a bemused expression as first Star and then Clay are rendered befuddled by ZsaZsa's tricks. Honedge is just...being its usual self. Leaning quietly against the nearest wall/object so as to not frighten random civilians by floating. Floating swords tend to freak people out, its learned. Zoey continues to babble about how the 'outside world' is sooo crazy and awesome and cool and stuff, and unless someone stops her, she'll probably talk Tiki's ear off.

Tiki is used to being herself, and is familiar with non-stop talking. This Zoey girl did love being outside a lot. With how she talked though....What kind of hole did Rei pull this girl out of?

Clay's attention's been on ZsaZsa and Rei, so he hasn't been really listening to Zoey chattering to Tiki. He leans over to Tiki now. "Hey, Tiki, can you keep Zoey company for a little bit while Rei and I talk about stuff?"

Tiki nods, and continues to watch Zoey. She was a lively one. She really did remind Tiki of herself before....sad times came....At some point when Zoey has to breath, Tiki jumps in. "Hey! Are you from around here? What do you like to do?"

Zoey informs Tiki that she doesn't know where she lives! Or, more accurately, doesn't know where her house is, besides it being "outside the city". She then talks about the amazing adventure that she, Holly, and Rei went on last night beneath the castle! How they found an entire city under there! It was soooo coool!

Clay follows her up, and once they've got the door shut, starts talking. "Okay. First thing, reporting, kinda. I'll get to my idea in a sec."
He ticks off his points on his fingers as he relates what he and Tiki uncovered. It isn't much; the trip to Saffron wasn't nearly as fruitful as he'd hoped. They confirmed Ashandra's alliance with Victini but didn't really get any guarantee that she'd really cooperate with them, they sent Clay's weird dream-message idea to Darkrai but haven't heard anything back, and investigating the Dark Branch yielded very little - a rough guess at their numbers, the fact that it's been deserted and not been cleaned, and the booby-traps in D'Mara's office, but no real clues unless Miss Sage turns something up about the ferns.
"I did ask her about one other thing, though, 'cause I've kinda been wondering if I could find anything out about my human parents, and I thought they might've been in the Guild. 'Cause they would've had to be out in the wild to lose me there, right? So I asked how I'd find out about old adventurers. Apparently the Guild's got a library in the basement, and Miss G's the one to talk to about getting in to see it. And then I thought that maybe there'd be clues there, if there was anything about D'Mara or the Dark Branch or the gods in the Archives." He brings his hands together. "So I was wondering if there was anything specific you wanted me to look up in there, 'cause I know you don't wanna go back to Saffron. If I can get in to look at it and know what I'm looking for maybe I could find something out. I know I still don't read too great but I might be able to, like, bring stuff back or something, if I don't understand it."

"Mm-hm! The weirdest thing was, it looked exactly like Celadon! Y'know, the city we're in right now! Dunno why it was buried or whatever, but maybe if we explore it we'll find out!" At some point while they were talking, Zoey went from 'disheveled bed-head' to 'perfectly groomed and clean'. But Tiki is probably too distracted by the thought of an entire underground city that looks like an exact replica of current Celadon hidden beneath the castle/modern city. "Oh, Rei and Holly found this weird, secret passage into my house from the castle basement! It was really neat! Rei said they were down there exploring, and I wanted to go on an adventure and eventually bring Mom home again. She hasn't been home in so long..." Zoey's expression briefly flashes from exuberant to despondent before the smile returns as she expresses how eager she is to go back later today and explore the underground city for realzies. |

"Whoa...You live underground too? I guess that's cool. Never done it myself. Lived at the Adventurer's guild for a bit, and lived in our caravan traveling around and stuff." Tiki frowns a bit when Zoey brings up her mom. "Oh...Sorry to hear 'bout that. Haven't seen my parents in good while either....Anyways, you're traveling now. We should go see the Vermilion Plains! Oh! And, the beach up at Cerulean! You'll love the beach!" Tiki always did get giddy when thinking of the beach.

Zoey shakes her head. "No, no, my house is surrounded by trees. A long way away from the city. I just don't know where exactly that is in relation to the city. For some reason, my Mom (or someone) put a secret passage from the Castle Basement into our basement and sealed it with one of those magic locks that require specific elemental energy. I assume Mom had it put there, but I dunno when or why. Maybe it has something to do with her whole 'I'm doing important work' and 'getting what I deserve' thing? I dunno." Zoey seems to grow sad again thinking about her mom, but once again perks right up at the thought of seeing new places. "I've never been to a beach before! I bet there are tons of cool things there, just like there are bound to be tons of cool things to see in that underground city! Ooh, ooh! I wonder if you can get one of those pass things to go into the Castle Basement too? Maybe then you could come with us when we go to explore it! Clay can come too, of course!"
