Tiki is now annoyed with Rei being annoyed. She shoots a look in her direction. "Yes you did! You said, 'About ten minutes ago I was about to choose Holly.' Right before we got to drinking! Ugh! You always do that! You do these things without a second thought, like there are no consequences! Then you act so surprised when it turns out you hurt somebody like that. How do you not even realize these things!? Without even knowing, you string me along by drawing out your answer, play with my expectations like that kiss when you don't even want me, you break my heart, and embarrass me in front of everyone in the mess hall! If I was more to you than all that, then you would've thought about what you were doing! If I making this up, and blaming myself, it's because I can't understand why you would do this to me! So, it must have been all my fault, or you were doing it to spite me, OR you had no clue what you were doing! Take responsibility, and wake up!"

Rei tries calming down.
"When I said that, you had hurt my feelings before, and Holly was there for me to make me feel better. But I CARED FOR YOU so I went to find you to mend our RELATIONSHIP."
Rei just sighs and slumps down.
"But it's clear I'm not going to get through to you. So fine. I didn't know what I was doing. That make you feel better? You won. Just run away. Ignore all the times I've been there for you. Fine. I'm done being selfless."

"You....You are the biggest....coward! You run away from any tough decision you gotta make! You don't fight for anything!" Tiki gets back up, and stands in front of Rei. "I won a fight I didn't even really want! I won a fight that was to prove to myself that I was better than slowly dying in your shadow! To prove to myself that my life didn't revolve around you! I was worried sick every day before today! I haven't had sleep since you came back!.......No, Rei. It doesn't make me feel better. YOU get to be the big winner. You get to be happy with me gone, and someone to love. You didn't fight for me to stay....You won't fight for anything. You should've walked over after that stunfisk knocked me out, and continued to wail on me! Break my legs! Break my jaw! Break my back! But no......You're too scared.....So I'll do what you always wanted....I'll leave. I'm going....I'm leaving to Celadon where I'll be all alone, and I'll die all alone! Cuz you've shown today that you don't care if I'm here or not. So, you win. Have fun being happy that you are free from the girl who was stupid enough to think you loved her." Tiki now turns to leave. She stands in the door way, shaking. ".....I'm gonna die...all alone...........I have bags to pack....."

"Oh, dammit!" Clay, as it turns out, is still in the doorway. He didn't try to stop Holly from leaving - not that he really could have - because frankly she was just really not helping the situation. But he'd thought for a minute there that they were making progress with at least getting Rei to talk to Tiki. Which to his knowledge she'd only even attempted about twice since making her decision, and neither for very long.
And now Tiki was trying to walk out. "Stop it! If we didn't care about you and wanted you to leave, why would we be trying to get you to stay? If Rei wanted you to leave she didn't have to fight at all. I guess I can sort of see why she didn't bring any Steel-types, if she thought you'd think it was unfair. If she really wanted you to leave she could've just turned down the challenge, or stopped fighting a lot sooner.
"Speaking of which, I know I shoulda been trying harder to talk you out of this. I kept saying the fight was stupid because I didn't want you to go!" Clay shakes his head and keeps himself planted right where he is. "I was doing the same thing Rei was, I was trying to avoid fighting about it because it hurt. But this is gonna hurt either way so I'm gonna tell you right now: if you leave you're still not gonna get away from me. I'm gonna come see you every chance I get, and I'm gonna keep trying to get you to come back, because I'm not gonna make the same mistake twice - I'm not gonna give up on my friends."

Tiki wipes her face. "Why? It's a waste of time, Clay. Just give up like-...." Upon turning to Rei, Tiki catches her statement. She tilts her head. "Huh?...What you say?"

Rei just lowers her head in her knees and sobs.

Tiki looks down to the floor. Well if Rei is gonna start crying, she is too. "....I just wanted.....you..." Tears roll down her cheeks. Tiki didn't want this either. She wanted to happy too, but....How could she when she would be reminded every day of her heartbreak? Thoughts about advice she was given kept coming back to her. Tiki fidget around, as her breath grew shaky. "........When people would come by to talk to me....A lot of the time what they told me was to just get over it, and move on.....Is that all it is?.....Every little feeling that I discovered...Every moment we spent together...The future I dreamed about...Everything I wanted..." Her lips quivers as she holds back a sob. ".....All...of my love.......It all means nothing now.....I'm just...s-supposed to give all of it u-up......get over it, and...move on......" Tiki hugs herself tightly as tears stream down her face again. "....I-Is that what I have to do? T-To be h-h-happy......I j-just gotta...." Tiki collapses to her knees as she's getting really tired, and keep this up much more. She has trouble getting words out. ".....I-...I-...I'm scared...."

Rei looks back up.
"I don't know what to tell you. I just want my Tiki back, in some capacity. When you say things like you'll die in a gutter or just be alone forever that hurts me so much."
Rei shuffles in the bed.
"And you aren't supposed to just give it up. You save it for the person you are meant to be with. With how much I've hurt you, I know it's not me at this point. I'm sorry I didn't pick you, but what was I supposed to do? Go against my feelings and pick you just to make you happy? Wouldn't that be the same as your 'fake happy' emotions? Me being with you in a relationship I'm not 100% committed to? It would just end... well like this. With both of us hurt."
She sighs.
"Look. I'm not saying that you'll get over it anytime, but I am saying that you can only go forward. I knew that's what you wanted deep down which is why I accepted the fight. If I lost and you walked then you'd be strong enough to survive. I want you to live, Tiki. If I really didn't care then I wouldn't be going through all this pain for you. Did I wait too long and make it worse before I picked? Yes, probably. You both said it was okay but inside I was panicking and didn't know what to do. If I picked too quickly I thought THAT would hurt someone more. I was wrong. I see that now. I've never had anything romantic in my life, I don't claim to be an expert. I did what I thought was right at the time but it's clear my upbringing didn't teach me well enough how to deal with my emotions. I'm just sorry Tiki. Please just move forward. I'd love to be a part of it but I understand if you never want to talk to me again."
With that Rei gets up to leave.

Clay sighs and finally moves aside from the door. At least he can't accuse Rei of walking away without having expressed what she's feeling, this time... even if it looks like it isn't going to have the result he was hoping for.
He wonders if he should mention going to find Holly or what his own plans are from here as Rei passes him, but he's pretty sure she's heard enough out of him for a while. Right now he's seriously thinking about getting out of town for a couple of days, but letting her know about that can wait a bit, probably, and Rei probably doesn't need to be told to go look for her girlfriend. He settles for saying, quietly, "Sorry, I didn't see which way Holly went."
At the last moment, he adds, "And you don't poison everything you touch. I think this one was a team effort anyway."

Rei just shakes her head as she silently moves past Clay. She tries to wipe her eyes as she leaves. Despite Clay's warnings, she probably 'is' poison to them. Clay will probably never look at her the same way again, Tiki and her are forever broken, she's even dragged Holly into this and hurt her during all of this. She's screwed up more than ever now.
She just walks her messed up self back to her room and flumps on her bed.

Tiki's pokemon arrive, push past Clay, and take their owner back to their room. Tiki has finally passed out, and remains knocked out for the rest of the day to catch up on a full day of sleep.

Clay doesn't block the way this time. He leans his head against the wall with a sigh. "Well, this is a mess."
He should probably apologize to Holly at some point. He's not entirely sure she actually liked any of them but Rei to begin with but, he should probably at least try to keep it from getting worse. Maybe... not just now, though.
Once Tiki's gone, he pushes off the wall and wanders out to go do some training. He's missed Branch training for today but right now he really just kind of wants to punch something.

Tiki is awake at some point. She just sits in the middle of her bed just kind of looking at nothing. She's in a bit of a state, like when she felt pretty emotionless when doing her "be happy phase." Star paws at her knee. Tiki looks at her for a bit, and sighs. "Guess we should start preparing, huh?...." Star hops off the bed, digs around Tiki's bag, and comes back with a note pad. Tiki begins to brainstorm for the performance in Celadon she has.

Later in the day, Rei awakes again. Her body finally had forced her awake, she was starting to get sore from being in the bed so much. She needed to be up and around, even if she wanted to just cuddle with Holly for the rest of time. While Holly rests, Rei goes to the market in Saffron. Without anything on the horizon outside of stabilizing her own mind, Rei needs something to keep her mind on. She picks up some general books for different hobbies and skills. She also buys quite a few berry planters and berries to begin planning a new item to create she had found out that would combine a berries benefits with her own useful chef items. She 'somehow' feels more capable for growing after tending to her one berry growing in the guild garden. These will be more expensive, however, so having her own personal growers will do to freshen up her room a bit. Seeing as she may not want to get out much for the forseeable future, it may do good to have some greens. She also trades in her sleeping bag for a double one for her and Holly if they ever venture outdoors outside of the guild in the future.
She heads back and sets them up on her dresser and plants an herb in one and a few berries in the others. She sets her new books next to the rented ones on her table, now covered in books. That's when she notices Shinpuru sulking in the corner. She goes over to him, and lifts him up for a hug. She sits with her back against the wall, and holds her little knight for a while.
"I'm so sorry my little warrior. I really failed you this time. Please don't be upset."
Shinpuru turns and chitters a little in protest. He's upset that they lost and Rei's unhappy about how it went down with Tiki, for sure. But he's more upset that he's been outclassed. Rei needs all the help she can get and if he's not up to snuff and is outclassed by pokemon like Star, then what good is he? Rei somehow shows a sign of understanding more than normal. Usually she can tell his general feeling by his chittering, but she's able to connect to him this time a bit more. Maybe it's because he's feeling not too far from what she's felt before.
"...Your pride is hurt, then?"
Shinpuru nods.
"I didn't see, but I saw your condition. I assume that was Tiki's Star. Star is her equivalent to you. Her first and oldest pokemon friend. So it stands that it'd be strong..."
Rei sighs.
"Trust me Shinpuru, I know how it feels. But I need you right now. We'll help you overcome it. You are my little warrior and you've grown so much since we originally met. You've been my only friend sometimes. I've always acted like you needed protecting. But... I think you did that for me. And now... now I can't protect you anymore. You'll have to keep me safe. I'm not training anymore and that means my skill will be lax. I... assume you heard what I was talking about with Holly?"
Shinpuru nuzzles close to comfort Rei. He didn't fully understand what Rei's going through, but he does remember training with her and her sisters. And how hard it was. That kind of pressure being pushed is a bit like what he's going through right now. Mostly that he put on himself.
"Ok... But yes. I'm not going to be taking attacks for you anymore. But you've grown tough since we joined the guild. You'll do good on your own, trust me. You don't need me anymore. Like I said, I need you."
Rei smiles (a bit pleadingly) at her little bidoof. Shinpuru hops off, and although doesn't look to have cheered up fully, he's feeling a bit better with Rei to fight for. He decides to gnaw on a piece of bark he has for his teeth and works on keeping them sharp.
Rei, in the meantime, heads back over to her table. No time like present to get through some of these. And might as well start at the top. Rei pulls out the book on Yveltal and begins to flip through it looking for important information.
