Clay yelps in surprise when the stick starts to get pulled under, and pulls back reflexively, digging his heels into the mud to keep from being pulled in. He's not all that heavy, but he's stronger than he looks, and his arms tense as he yanks back on the stick.
(Athletics result: 12, plus whatever bonus from assistance)

There is a loud sucking sound as you literally pull a large lump of "swamp sludge" out of the water. Suddenly, eyes appear on the sludge and it grows arms and a mouth.
"GRIMER!" it shouts as it rushes to attack the nearest person/the one who poked it with a stick (Clay).
(Switching over to the Group Battle thread when I have more time.)

Tiki lets out a big sigh after the final Grimer is finished, but is immediately concerned when Justice starts up another coughing fit. She goes to her knees, and holds Justice. "Justice!? Are you gonna be ok!?" The Chikorita stops coughing enough to give a goofy smile, but starts up again. "Ooohhh..." Tiki lets out a sad grumble as she starts digging through her bag. "Oh no....no no no! Why didn't I go shopping for supplies before we came out here!? I'm so stupid! I'm so sorry Justice!" She turns to her friends, "Hey you guys? Do any of you have a antidote for Justice? She can even cure one of you, but she needs some antidote for herself. I can even pay you back when we get back to town. Please."

Sano rushes over to the Chikorita, putting away his weapons and retrieving his first aid kit from his bag. He wipes some of the sludge off her face with a handkerchief.
"She'll be okay, but the bruises won't go away with the poison. Let's get her to a more sanitary area, and she'll be as healthy as a fresh beansprout." He smiles at Justice, admiring her attitude. "Taking on a Poison type was very brave. If you'll let me, I'll make you and your friends feel better."
Mitis trots over and stands near the captured Grimer proudly before preening herself.

Clay is... really not in much better shape than Justice. Once the last Grimer is down he sits down heavily, coughing hard. "Ooogh... now I know why mom always said to stay away from Zubat. Stupid slimy things..."
Sandy gives a pitiful little cough of his own as he sits in front of Clay, though he's in much better shape in general. He glances across the water at the berry that started all this trouble curiously, as if asking whether they're still interested. Meanwhile Clay is rooting around in his bag, still coughing intermittently. "I got a couple of Antidotes in here somewhere... Master Nob gave me a bunch of stuff before I left for the Guild."

Tiki smiles, and helps clean up Justice, and gives Sano a big hug. "Thank you soo much! We'll be sure to make it up to you! Ah, Justice, why don't you go help out Sandy." "Chiko!" The restored Justice, now seeming like her normal, air-headed self, trots over to Sandy, she begins waving her leaf around, and rubbing it on Sandy. (Healer Ability:The target is cured of all Status conditions.") Tiki also retrieves her captured Grimer. "Seems weird how we fought pretty hard, and now two of these are our partners. But, I'm sure we'll get along!"

Sandy looks at Justice a little warily. He's not wild about getting a leaf rubbed all over him... even if he very clearly feels better afterwards. He shakes himself, as if to say ew, Grass-type cooties, get it off, but he's not coughing anymore.
Clay gives Justice and Tiki a weak smile. "Th-thanks. Everybody else okay? Ish?" Which is code for "is it okay if I drink this antidote myself before I fall over?" See, Clay can be subtle, or at least something resembling polite.

Sano paces over to Clay, drawing a fresh cloth and wiping some of the sludge and dirt from his forehead.
"Save it for a more urgent moment. Let's get to a safer area so I can sanitize your wounds." Mitis bites the ball of her new companion and places it in Sano's bag.

Moving with the others away from the water, she takes out her pokemon to look them over.
"How are you Star?" Star smiles, and wags its' tail. "It hit pretty hard huh? At least you aren't injured."
"Justice, you feeling better?" Justice is busy playing and chasing Sandy, despite Sandy not looking too happy. Tiki giggles. "Oh. Good. Get over here silly!"
"And finally you." She looks at her new Grimer. It looks pretty rough, but still holding together. She pets her new gooey friend. "Welcome to the family! You need a name!" "Grimer!" Tiki takes out her tarot cards, and draws one with a flourish. "Hmmm...You are...Hermit!" "Grimer!" "You like it huh!?" "Grimer!" "I knew you would!"
She turns to the others. "We all seem fine. Hermit here is a little hurt though. How are ya'll?"

"Sorry about this. Didn't know seeing how deep the water was would mean getting attacked by the mud..." He struggles to his feet, the Antidote still in his hand.
Tiki reporting on her status prompts Clay to do the same. "Sandy's still mostly okay." Apart from not being too thrilled about the sudden chase-playing; he lets out a little Mudkippy sigh of relief when Tiki calls Justice away. "Fan's fine, haven't even had her out yet. Candle guy's probably pretty beat up, haven't really had time to check. Still need to name him...
He sways a little and covers his mouth as another cough makes his shoulders shake. "Think I could use a break, though." He's not really cut up, considering all the attacks against him were flailing, goopy limbs and hurled globs of mud, but he's got a lovely collection of bruises, not to mention the poison.

After some discussion, the party agrees that the safest course of action is to rest for awhile and let any uninjured (or lightly injured) members keep an eye out for anything heading their way. Everyone's injuries and battle damage are treated during this time. Once rested and refreshed, the party elects to move on to the next location, in roughly the direction that the Wild Litwicks told Clay there was a 'weird spot'. Once at the next area, it seems it is Clay's turn to take a quick nap, as he yawns loudly and curls up on a semi-dry patch of land, fast asleep.
More aware of their surroundings this time, Sano and Tiki manage to spot a yellow and brown Pokemon slinking among the twisted, muck-covered trees towards Clay's sleeping form. It doesn't seem to realize it's been spotted right away, allowing the remaining members of team CAT (Clay, sAno, Tiki) to decide what they're going to do about it.

Tiki jumps as Clay suddenly goes down. After a quick scan of the foliage, turns away, and looks at Sano. Whispering, "Sano, there is a pokemon over there. It's what knocked me out last time. Wake up Clay quickly! I gotta pay back that thing for earlier." Tiki turns quickly and tosses out Star as they rush the pokemon.
Star-18 (28 from Juggler Whenever you send a Pokémon into an encounter from a Poké Ball, they receive a +10 bonus to their Initiative during that round.)
Tiki-9
Star lets out a small bark, and grinds to a halt kicking dirt towards the pokemon.

Tiki follows Star in, and readies her knife, and hits it over the head with the butt of it.

The Pokemon is startled by the sudden kicking of dirt into its face, though it turns to face its attacker anyway. It's eyes flash blue for a moment, and Tiki feels a sharp pain inside her head.

The Pokemon begins to weaken, but it's eyes flash blue for a moment when Star slams into it. Star finds herself unable to use Tackle. (Star is Disabled! Lasts for the Scene.)
The Wild Pokemon tries to assault Star's mind.

Star looks around confused at not knowing how to Tackle something anymore, but after hear ears twitch, she quickly shakes off the Drowzee's attack. She then uses Sand Attack once more!

Female, Level 9, Hypnotic ability, Quiet Nature. The Poké Tome says it's a "Drowzee". A Pokemon that likes to eat dreams.

Tiki picks up the ball, and waves it around. "WooHoo!! I got you-...you...? What are you anyway?" She takes out her Tome, and scans it's information. "A...Drowzee?A Pokemon that likes to eat dreams. Huh!? Creepy! Welp, welcome to the family anyway, Drowzee!"
Tiki, with Sano, shake Clay awake. "You all right there, Clay?" She presents the captured Drowzee's ball. "It was this thing called a Drowzee that had put us to sleep. With that taken care of, we can finally check out that area that those candles were talkin' about." Once Clay is able to move again, she and the others head towards point 16.

Upon reaching the rough area of where the Litwick said the "(good) weird place" was, you find what looks like a small cave that appears to be lived in, possibly by a human. The area gives off this weird, somewhat oppressive aura, however. Odd that the floating candles (I never actually stated you could ID their species IC) would think this is a "good" place; but then, maybe it doesn't feel oppressive to them. Who can say?
Make a Perception check if you're going to look into the cave.
