The cave turns out to be quite shallow. You can't quite see the back of the cave clearly (mainly due to lack of light within the cave), but you can tell that it doesn't go any farther than about 10 meters. (~30 feet)

Clay grumbles as he's shaken awake, blinking rapidly to clear the sleep from his eyes. "Huh? What happened?" As Tiki explains, he eyes the ball suspiciously. "Huh... So it's been following us this whole time?" He doesn't look like he particularly likes the idea of keeping the thing around. Of course, he's hauling around a Pokémon whose capabilities he has even less idea of. He hasn't even thought to crack open his Poké Tome and see if it can explain what the heck kind of Pokémon looks like a candle and can let attacks go straight through it. He shivers a little as they approach the cave - it gives him a strange and rather unpleasant feeling. Still, he's not gonna back down now... even if he probably should. Despite a nice rest and Sano's talented care he's still got a lovely collection of bruises, but that doesn't seem to have damaged his bravado much. Regardless of Tiki's caution he strides boldly up to the cave mouth and calls out into its depths. "Hey there! Anybody home?"Perception: 8

"Clay, can your new candle friend light the way a bit? This cave is pitch black. It must go really deep!" Sano peers into the cave, his eyes not adjusted yet.

An eerie moan echoes from seemingly every corner of the cave at once.
"Get out....! Get out...!"
Immediately after, a single, bright blue 'orb' or 'eye' appears in the back of the cave, seemingly floating by itself. A single line in the center is the only thing even resembling a pupil. It almost feels like it's staring into your soul, and the creep factor just intensified ten-fold.
Focus Check DC 12 or you find yourself running for the hills (so to speak).

"Eh, it doesn't look that deep. I've jumped -" Clay's boasting is cut off by the horrible voice that resounds through the small cave. For a moment he just wants to run, but he forces himself to stand his ground, planting the end of his staff between his feet as if he can draw strength out of the earth that way. He didn't turn tail and run when Fire Lady tried to roast him or that pack of Grimer almost took him down; he's not going t start now. He takes a deep breath and calls out in the hissing and popping language the candle Pokémon used. If the eye's staring into his soul, he gets the weirdest feeling of his soul staring back, reaching out toward the eye's owner. We're not looking for trouble. We were curious. Even as he speaks, though, he can feel he's not getting through. Focus to stand his ground: 12Intuition to channel the 'mon: 14 vs DC 15

The haunting voice that creeps out of the cave chills Tiki to her bones, and she freezes up, unable to move. "EEEK! C-c-Clay! W-W-What was that!? What's in there!?"

Sano gets spooked and darts backward, looking for a good place to hide. Even the toxic sludge of an angry Grimer is preferable to a cave-demon, or whatever monstrosity uttered those words.

The eye begins to turn a deep, crimson red, matching the blade that becomes visible. The floating sword (for that's what it looks like) repeats its message.
"Get out....! Get out...!"
DC 10 Focus to stand your ground. Clay gets a +1 for succeeding before, while Sano and Tiki get a -1.
Despite their initial fear, the party manages to push past it the second time and stands their ground against the floating sword.

Tiki, despite her overwhelming fear, holds strong, and is able to grab one of her pokemon. "G-guys? W-W-What do we do!?"

Tiki moves forward, slowly, behind Sano. "C-Clay! You gotta talk that thing down, or it's gonna start hackin' and slashin'! " Tiki stands her ground, staring at the floating blade, and gripping Star's pokeball tightliy.

"Okay, okay... okay." Clay sets his staff down and steps forward cautiously, raising his open hands. He has no idea whether the Pokémon will interpret this the same way a human would, but... it's a sword, right? So it understands the armed/unarmed thing. Maybe. He looks at the sword steadily but doesn't quite make eye contact. "We're not gonna hurt you, okay? We didn't come looking for trouble. We just heard about something weird around here. Didn't know this was your cave." He glances back toward the cave entrance for a brief moment. This cave looks pretty lived-in for being only inhabited by a creepy sword... "Hey, does someone else live here? Do you have a trainer?"Intuition (to improve the sword's attitude): 12

As Clay approaches the sword, something leaps out of the shadows at him. It's a person! The girl looks no older than 15-16, and her eyes are the same vivid, blood red as the sword's blade. It is only then that the party notices the sword's tassel is wrapped around her wrist. Surely someone ought to have noticed her earlier, but a scary red sword can be rather distracting.
(Combat will begin at this point, but I'll post the relevant info later tonight.)

As the combat rages on, a white-haired girl in a beautiful white kimono is riding side-saddle on a Skiddo through the swamp path. Despite there being no sun permeating through the trees of this place, she idly twirls an umbrella resting on her shoulder. An excitable Bidoof is sitting on her lap, looking back and forth for anything interesting. Enemies to fight, dangers to crush, wood to chew on. Usual things.
As they trot through the swamp, she thinks back on her last couple of days. She had gotten to Saffron late in the day, missing out on a pokemon (Which is ok, she already had two) as well as most of the day's festivities, including finding a branch to join. She rested in the town with the promise that the next day would have her get into something. But she saw in the morning everyone hustling and bustling and decided to leave it for later in the day. No need to rush into it, afterall. Hearing a rumor of ghostly lights from some of the talk, she knew she'd have something of interest to her to check that out. Most likely another hoax of spirits. One of many. Regardless, she finds herself trotting on her Skiddo in Lavender Swamp.
There's not much to behold until she hears clangs and blasts and sounds of battle.
"Raido, I think we are needed. Help me find the noise."
The Skiddo approaches the noises slowly, and they find themselves in front of a cave. The woman dismounts with a graceful hop, and returns Raido to his Apricorn Ball, leaving her and the Bidoof. She resets the umbrella resting on her arm once more, and looks to her minute Bidoof.
"Shinpuru, please lead the way. As usual, I will make sure I take attacks in your stead when I can. Let's see the situation."
The woman walks around the corner into the cave.

As the Oddish takes the spirit out, the girl breathes a sigh of relief and looks toward the party.
"Well done!"
She clutches her chest.
"And I would discuss what to do and introduce myself, but it seems the seeds are still draining me. So I... hope that you three... aren't untoward and will help me..."
She sits down on the floor as the leech seed finally saps the last of her health away, and she falls unconscious. The Bidoof runs over and stands in front of her body, with another adorable angry look.

All the joy Tiki was feeling drained out of her as the new person slumped to the ground. "YAY!...Ohh...OH! Miss...um...Miss Lady, are you ok!?" Tiki runs over to her, and kneels next to her head. "Hey! Can you hear me!? Oh man...You guys we gotta get her back to town!"

Clay leans against the wall, breathing hard despite not actually having accomplished a whole lot physically. Part of that is the adrenaline. Part of that is that he really is starting to feel lightheaded. "Hey, thanks for - oh." Aaaaand the girl in white is on the ground. That's not good.
He glances over at the other mysterious, unconscious girl. And the three scattered Pokémon. He makes a weird growling noise in the back of his throat that would probably be a curse if it was actually a word. "Mumblegrumble stupid crazy girl doesn't have a troop..." He shakes his head. "We should get her back, too. Figure out what the heck is going on here...
Of course, he dropped his staff to try and convince the sword his intentions were peaceful - and they saw how well that worked - so now it's way back at the entrance to the cave. Can you bring me that, sis? Not feeling so steady right now... Fan scampers back to the cave mouth - stomping on the tree stump's head rather mean-spiritedly on her way - and returns rather comically dragging a staff three times her height. Clay manages to get it under one arm to use as a crutch so he can stump over to where the Bidoof is standing over his unconscious trainer. "Lemme talk to the mouse thing, tell it we're gonna help."
He leans down to address the Bidoof in chittering rodent noises, swallowing his frustration to try and actually convince somebody. Hey there. The guy over there - he points at Sano - can help fix your friend. And we can take her back to more people who can help too. We're not gonna hurt her, so don't bite anybody, okay?

The real Sano limps over to the kimono'd girl and the other two vanish in puffs of smoke. He checks her vitals briefly, wary of the powerful death-hamster chittering with Clay nearby. "She should be okay, but we should get out of here as soon as possible. The Sword-Girl might have friends." He stands up abruptly, wincing at his own wounds. "I'll tend to her wounds in just a second. I'm going to check to see if our enemy is still alive." Sano walks over to the fallen girl and surveys her injuries.

Shinpuru hops around frantically when the others approach. At first. But seeing Tiki's concern and Clay talking to it in a pokemon language lessens his nerves a bit. He steps to the side, but remains within death tackle range. He chitters back to Clay, letting him know he is a great warrior, and still healthy and strong. If they were to try anything funny, he could wipe them all out with a single blow!
And again, any anger out of the bidoof comes off as adorable.

Tiki motions over Sano. "Oi! Think you can use your first aid for her?" Tiki keeps watch over her, and also enjoys the Bidoof's movement and sounds.

No argument here. I saw you back there, that was impressive. Nice war dance, too.
That last part is the only one he has trouble keeping a straight face for, because even knowing he's talking to a Bidoof that might actually be able to take him in a fair fight, a chubby little hamster dancing around before charging into battle is hilarious. But he's not going to say that to a rodent on the edge.
"Okay, I think we're good here. Uh, somebody with thumbs, I've got some bandages in my bag but they're on my bad side. Little help?" He'd ask Fan, but he's also got some apples in there and if she found them she'd eat them all. "What are we going to do about creepy girl's creepy sword and pals? Guess we ought to bring them along too."
