"It's probably for the best! I forgot that I wasn't allowed to hold sharp objects anymore." Olivier noted sadly. He pursed his lips and mused quietly. "But I don't think being cut with that blade is the issue. When I was holding it, it felt like the real purpose of the weapon is to thrust, like *bang*!"
To illustrate, he thrusts a tiny, weak fist towards Falon's belly. "Like... A cheap shot! It would be really, really hard to miss like that if you were in close quarters."

Falon tils his head for a moment, before testing the sword, making sure he's well away from any other people. He makes a few practice swings and thrust, checking the balance and make of the sword. Light-weight, well suited for swift, precise movement... slightly balanced towards the end, and a thin, pronounced tip, excellent for thrusts. Still, the edges are properly sharpened and the balance isn't off so much that it becomes impossible to slash with it... He nods. "It's a pretty good sword, and you're probably right about the accuracy at close range. Mind if I use it?"

"Absolutely!" Olivier replies, smiling broadly. "I think you'll be better to use it than I can, and I sort of got it for the Guild anyways. So of course!"

"Well, it seems like today was a somewhat fruitful day for all involved," Farina calls out while stuff rummaging through the paperwork. "We've gotten a few new quests as well but it only looks like 1 or 2 are possible right now. I'll work out the details later on tonight. In the mean time, the rest of you should go shower and relax while we wait for our final two to arrive."

Finally, after what seems like an eternity, Nette (and Merit) arrives. Their entrance is announced by the tall forest-spirit slamming the door open wide. "We are home!" She quickly steps inside. "Brr. It's a bit cold outside." It takes a few moments but eventually she realizes why "inside" wasn't much warmer and nicer then "outside" and closes the door behind them. Then she quickly kicks off her boots and heads to the common room, plopping down in the sofa beside Nee.

As Merit walks in, he rubs his eyes wearily and yawns. "It took a while to get back, but we had a calm day." He approaches the resource storage bins and starts to place the materials inside. "We covered most of the desert, and we found several mining points. On top of that, we registered the Geomagnetic Pole at the Oasis bar. It's currently broken, though."
Merit finds an empty chair and sits down, rubbing the literal sand from his eyes. "How did everyone do?"

"Yes it seems like everyone really had an interesting time. From what I can see, it looks like our gatherer came back with a bit of a haul and a new pokemon for us, which is great." Farina seemed happy relating this news to everyone.
"AND I GOT SOME COOKIES!" Sariah yelled as she ran circles around the room chomping on a cookie.
"I think we've all had a long day, how about we go to sleep and when we wake up, we can decide what we'll do next. We also got a few more beginner's supplies from that guild hall. in so that we can explore a bit more, but we'll definitely need to start coming up with ways to earn more En so that we can purchase our own supplies in the future. Overall, good work everyone!" Farina then added, "I'll expect a full report of what everyone did, in written form by tomorrow morning so that I can review it."
"Yep yep, just put them in my box and I'll get it to her!" Sariah was now casually munching on her cookie on top of a box in a nearby corner. With a slight yawn, "But for now it's time to rest~"

"Hmmmmm..." Nette hums, looking somewhat distressed. She squirms for a while in the sofa before leaning towards Merit and his chair. "I - *uhm* - I can't write..."

"Hmm?" Merit tiredly stares at Nette for a few seconds before comprehending. "Oh, well, we can write a joint report then. Shouldn't be too hard, though. For some reason, I can recall the entire day perfectly. It's as if I've already committed it to paper."

"*Pewh* Thanks." Nette sighs in relief and sinks back into the couch.

"Ugh, a written report. I hate those." complains Helios.
Turning to Merit, he asks, "What's broken, the Pole or the bar? Thanks again for the salve, by the way, it really helped."

"Report, huh? I can do that, at least." Not like Bee wasn't already scribbling as much as she could in her journal; she could turn it into a proper report easily enough.
"I should, uh, probably not be on the ental-making committee, though." She'll readily admit she's not very good with money. She can keep track of it but she's terrible about hanging on to it.

"The pole was broken, but we could still register our badges to it. And no problem, Helios. I'm glad it helped out." Merit stands up and looks at Nette. "Let's go write that report while it's fresh in our mind."

"I love to write!" Olivier chirped, quickly writing down a fluid version of name in a stylized, flowing font. "But, I spent all day with Farina, so I'm not sure if I should write the report or whether she would. It's all very confusing!"
He tapped his quill. Well! There was still something he could write. He jammed the quill into the inkpot and set to work on a piece of paper, the feather dancing gracefully as it kissed the page.

Having finally returned to your new home, the few of you who went directly to your rooms notice that your room doors all have a paper attached.
"Welcome back from your second day of adventuring. Farina probably already told you about the report... but in case you had any doubts... All you need to do is write:" As you look down on the paper you see a crude drawing of a sheet. Sariah attempted to draw an example of the format for the report, but her writing is rather sloppy. You can make out Day 2 on the top left of the sheet as well as the list of allies for that day on the top right with the location dead center. Below that you can see the words "Quest (if any)" but the lines from then on in her example are unreadable.
"So yeah, just do that! Easy Peazy~"
"P.S. We need to start getting organized on making En for the guild. I'll teach you all about G-En tomorrow!"

"*Hmm*" Nette hummed and cautiously eyed the ominous piece of paper on their door, slowly making sense of it. Earlier she would not have been lost, with no idea what it could be. But now - now she had learned! It really isn't that hard! she thought happily to herself. Though it was worrying that, just as she had missed it earlier, she hadn't noticed their room was needing exorcism. It's good that we have Nithia around to protect us. With a delighted hum Nette headed back into the common room.

Olivier was too busy writing to read, pen hitting the paper with grace and fluidity only seen by hermits who weren't crazy. A glancing eye over his shoulder might read, Day 2.
Exploring the Town with Olivier and Farina.
Quests Completed, BRING ME COOKIES!!! and Too Many Swords.
Quests Gained, Medicine Maker.
Synopsis.
Today I spent time with Farina and we explored the town! It was FUN! We saw the blacksmith, the Medicine Maker, and we got cookies for Sariah! The cookie lady was cute. I should see her again whether I have a reason to or not! Alternative means of money were discussed. I might be making Pokéballs for the guild if we can get a kit. Which would be fun! If we can find a way to sell them, then we would make a little money on the side!
But I'm tired now! Good night dear friends!
Sincerely,
Olivier Sinclair. Having completed his report, he pushed the still wet paper away from him and laid his arms onto the table. There! Now to just wait for the ink to dry. He propped his arms up and stared expectantly at the paper. Oooh! What fun!

Falon diligantly goes to work on the report, quickly summarising the events of the day in a surprisingly neat and concise way. ... aaaand dot. Now just to wait for the ink to dry... Fingerdrum ...any second now... fingerdrum ... maybe if I just apply a little bit of heat... Exactly thirty-five seconds after finishing the report, Falon's patience runs out and he tries to speed up the process, increasing the heat of the paper to dry the ink... spontanously causing the paper to go up in flames, the report quickly burning to nothing but ashes. Falon blinks for a few moments at the ashy remains of his report, caught up in flashbacks back from the academy... he had been in this exact same situation before... multiple times. Sighing, he wipes the ashes away and into the dustbin, and briefly considers redoing the report, before shrugging, figuring someone else (who isn't as likely to burn the paper) would do it. Instead, he heads of to bed, resting up for the next day.

Bee, of course, had been informed already about the need for the report. She lay the wrong way on her bed, her journal open in front of her as she wrote it out.
Day 2---Solemn Forest NW/Solemn Cave---Bee, Falon, Henry, Nithia Quests: The Hidden Passage
She went into a detailed description of the environment around the cave and the two chambers they'd visited, complete with maps and transferring a couple of illustrations she'd made of the area and particularly interesting carvings (especially the ones that finally did open the passage to the second chamber). Occasional cheery asides were involved, among them Can Murkrow learn to talk? It'd make things a lot easier. She ended with a note of what still needed to be done - they needed to explore the rest of that dark chamber, catalog the Pokémon in it (she was sure she'd heard some moving around in the darkness), and see if it led to any further rooms.
She made a mental note to get some more charcoal. Despite the smudging it was faster than waiting for ink to dry, but if she was going to keep making her journal and writing the reports she was going to run low quickly... She blew on the paper to remove the excess - the foot of her bed was liable to acquire a permanent coat of charcoal dust if she kept that up - and went to bring the report back to the common room.
