The Maractus explodes in what only could be considered a vat of cacti stroganoff that splatters all over the oasis.

A'Lincoln noted looking at the cactus juice now spilling all over the Oasis, "Nice Shot, doesn't look like the cactus is getting up any time soon."

Celina looks down at the ground, saying something quietly to herself, before looking up towards the others. "Indeed, nice shot Geier."
She then spoke, looking up at the still fairly high sun, guarding her eyes while in the comfort of a trees shade. "There is something you all should know about me, something that will be a bit of an inconvenience for our group." She took a deep breath and continued. "Because of my brand, I cannot be out and under the sun for long periods of time, in fact, the traveling we'd done since the temple to here has been a bit much for me. Hence, why I've retreated to the dark shade of a tree. So I'd like to ask something of you all. Would it be possible to do most, if not all, of our traveling at night? While my brand has its curses it does have a blessing as I can see perfectly fine in the dark, as well as anybody could see in the light of the sun. We don't know when we might come across another oasis with adequate shade to rest. "

Gennidran gives a small smile and nod of approval Geier's way as he begins to move towards the numel- until Celina speaks up. He listens attentively without speaking until she finishes.
"I understand your predicament- but the night is dangerous. Without fire, you'd be the only one of us who can see- and besides that, who knows what Pokemon or dark dealings come out when dusk settles. Perhaps there is a way we can take some leaves or spare cloth and fashion you a shield from the sun of some sort?"

Celina thinks for a moment, unsure of the validity of his plan, and then she replied, "It might be possible if we had enough of the right materials. I'm not sure, though, Shadrum is a naturally dark place and my journey to the temple lead me through The Edge where I went through blizzards with little to no sunlight. So this is a problem I've rarely had to deal with, and the solution has always been to get into the shade or darkness to recover."

A'Lincoln thought carefully for a moment before asking, "Do you know if the Numels would be able to keep fires lit for us?"

After a silent moment spent observing the... extensive splatter formerly known as Maractus, Martel says, "A shield or cover would be much more preferable to travelling when the rest of us are nearly blind. As capable as you are in avoiding fights, we might be relying on your powers too much if that was our only defense against hungry beasts." That said, she didn't know how much protection someone so Marked needed. Or what they could do if shading Celina was unfeasible... Perhaps if they all had enough light, the threat of an ambush wouldn't be such a concern? Or it would make them a brilliant target.

"Perhaps you could fashion something out of Geier's new pet's leaves. I think those large fronds would be serviceable for you" he added in after the others spoke, taking a closer look at the Maractus corpse himself to see if anything was edible.

"That sounds like it could work, you don't mind taking some of Harvest's leaves, do you, Geier?", Celina says to Geier.

"Of course not, Masters. A wise solution!" He seemed unperturbed by the violent death he'd inflicted on the Maractus. However, his beak clacked in annoyance as Harvest pulled back, resisting his attempts to prune one or two of its large wings. "Aaack! Obey, you ungrateful creature! You're a tree, they'll grow back." After a minute of struggling with the much larger Pokemon, it finally relented and willingly shed a couple of the smaller (but still adequate) fronds that ringed its neck. "Hmmph. Finally. You'll get no praise for this disappointing performance, beast." Proffering the broad fronds to Celina with a slight bow, he recalled Harvest to its Pokeball and eyed one of the larger Numel with some trepidation. "I admit, Mistress Celina, I have never... ridden a Pokemon before."
Geier, of course, was well accustomed to working around her malady; it was one of the primary reasons the Shadrum had taken to slavery and indentured servitude of other Branded, to be their eyes and hands during the harsh days of the surface when such excursions were necessary.

"Thank you Geier.", Celina said, bowing as she accepted the leaves and set most aside as she carefully worked with one or two of them. "Well if it makes you feel better, neither have I. But, how hard can it be, especially since they're letting us ride them?", Celina said as she worked. Focus to make some sort of leaf parasol. Spending 1 AP.

"As you say, Mistress Celina. I bow to your superior understanding of these beasts." Approaching the Numel he'd been staring at, Geier's beak clacked a few times rapid-fire in nervousness before he clambered up, being none too gentle with his talons and ending up with a death grip on its head.
It quickly dawned on Geier how silly he must look perched on the back of a Pokemon less than half his height. It seemed sturdy enough, and he was not by any means a heavy man, but it seemed likely the Numel would struggle to carry him very far. "... hrrrm. Perhaps I ought to try one of the evolved ones instead," he admitted. He waited for the others to begin mounting up before joining Celina on a Camerupt - they were meant to be guiding the others on this first leg of the journey, after all, and it seemed prudent to be able to easily compare notes.

Having successfully finished her parasol, Celina puts the rest of the leaves away in case they need they need them later. She smiles as she holds it above her, protecting her from the sun as she joins Geier on a Camerupt. "Well everybody, shall we start moving then?"
A few moments later, in a flash of realization, Celina turns around immediately, now sitting backward on the Camerupt and facing Geier. "I just realized something! Geier, we don't know what you and Martel can do! I mean you're very precise with your crossbow for sure, but that can't be all you're good at is it? Plus we still don't know anything about what you can do Martel.", Celina says looking around at the group for confirmation that she's not a bit crazy and that they neither showed nor told what they were capable of or that they did and Celina just completely forgot.

Taking his spot on top of the back of one of the Numels, A'Lincoln didn't say much. He'd said everything he'd needed to and it was just time for them to go on their merry way.

Grimacing at the question, Martel answers, "No, I definitely mentioned my, 'skills'... The problem is, they aren't impressive like any of yours. Anyways, you must have forgotten because it was uneventful. All there would be to show would be shocking one of you...". Hoping she had finally explained adequately, she claimed one of the Camerupt to ride.

Celina bows her head, "My apologies, Martel. How about you then, Geier?"

After giving the body a once over, Gennidran quietly moves over towards a Numel to mount himself.

The Numel and Camerupt make the process easy for the group so they can ride them without issue.

Once they got on the road, Geier let Celina guide the way without his input for a while, setting about organizing and processing the materials he had gathered. He spread a stained rag across the Camerupt's broad back and soon it was littered with plant cuttings, small iron or glass vials, a lump of wax, and various arcane-looking tools. The Camerupt's gait was gentle enough that he only needed to spare a fraction of attention to keeping things in place. After some time, Celina might have detected strange and nose-wrinkling odors from behind her until Geier finally cleaned up his tools and secreted his newly-crafted arsenal away into a number of hidden pouches and pockets. He gave a satisfied hrrm at his handiwork, then looked up to see how the rest of the group had been faring. Crafted 2 Antidotes, 4 Smoke Balls, 5 Caltrops, and 4 Toxic Caltrops.
