That'll be fine, I was only leaning at two max for the world cup winners. But I'll rewrite it so that there was only one winner, with his mother serving on the E4 multiple times. I was more or less trying to establish the pedigree of the family.
MySpaghetti.jpeg
Yea sure, I'll give details on that.
This is a yes and no answer. He's more open in regards to him using his talents, but he always has the notion that all it takes is one person to report him.
Of course, I more or less have a rudimentary idea of their battling style.
I'll be honest, it was a dump stat. I reworked it so he had at least a Novice in guile. Makes more sense that way.
Anyway, I'll do the touch ups in a few hours.

Goliathus1) The style focuses less on power more multiple rapid attacks (open palm strikes with kicks thrown in here and there, mostly sweeping of the legs) and keeping some degree of flow and rhythm which links into how he follows a beat. 2) He doesn't mind vocals but they don't suit his style. 3) He'll strike objects or himself or hum/click/make noise in general to make sound a lot and tends to enjoy doing it even as he walks (thus the pathetic stealth) 4) He has no preferred genre and will take sounds and samples from others to mix into his tracks that he makes. 5) Probably the practical side of Music makes the most sense to be his favorite class.

Well, I finally got a chance to update my character sheet a bit. I just need to put a bit more about her childhood, but don't really have much in the way of that prepared right now

1. I would say Virizion is the Culture school as Cobalion as the Science school. Although meeting nerds from different kind of culture, and that open up his knowledge about technologies all over PokeEarth is very plausible. Hmm... if it could fit alright, I'll still prolly keep him in Virizion, as his view of Pokemon as more than just a means to an end fits better there. Plus meeting people from other cultures and picking up some of their knowledge and tech seems like a think Vekus would do. Plus it lets him still aspire to go to Cobalion town, which gives him some reason to move around the region some. If it really won't fit though, lemme know. 2. You will still have to pick one favorite class. Just spitting ideas, maybe some kind of engineering class? Though I can't promise all sort of engineering will be available in Virizion. Hmm... I'm imaging there prolly isn't a class for like 'functional costume making', especially at Virizion... Pokeball Engineering a thing? Or else maybe Pokemon Anatomy, or whatever you'd call a class that delves into how pokemon do what they do, and maybe do some disection? 3. You are probably still working on it but a picture and/or some physical descrption is/are definitely needed. Picture and description are in there now. 4. What is/are his favorite cartoon(s)? Feel free to make up anything. A Poke-version of real life stuff is totally fine. A pokemon version of Power Rangers is definitely up there, despite not being a cartoon. I can imagine a pokeverse version of Digimon would also be incredibly up his alley, due to it dealing with both the wonders of technology and digi/pokemon and humans working in harmony. Season 3 or 4 where the humans and mon did fusiony things were prolly his jam. Poke Laggann was also prolly a favorite, especially the first 8 or so episodes. I'd imagine though that he would have a pretty wide breadth of things he's at least tried, to get more catchy one liners if nothing else. 5. Does he attend cosplay events? What about roleplaying(mostly LARP) or acting? Due to my own complete ignorance of LARPing and how it works, Im prolly gonna say he didn't get into much of that, much as it might fit the character. Cosplay stuff and conventions were likely some of the highlights of his year, and he prolly went to a fair number, and got caught trying to sneak into a fair bit more. Acting he likely tried a little of, but found the inability to riff the lines really frustrating. It totally had nothing to do with how hard it was to remember all the lines either. Might still add some stuff to the background and/or clean it into more of a narrative than bullet points, but its all pretty much there now, in rough form

Questions! 1. Has Alia ever consider being a sailor like her uncle or taking up any martime career in her life? 2. Virizion is definitely perfect for her battle style and is right on the city she grows up in. Has she ever consider Keldeo though? They are pretty good with fashion design, less so with technology though, that's Cobalion's specialty. 3. Assuming logistic isn't a class in Virizion, what is Alia's second favorite class? You don't have to change your favorite class. 4. How's she doing with Electric Pokemon? 5. Does the move Thunder(or Thunderstorm?) has the same effect on her as an actual thunder? 6. What's your fluff reason for pathetic focus? And the high guile? Answers! 1) She has thought about it - a lot even. Her uncle put many wonders in her head about travelling the seven (or applicable setting number ) seas and seeing the world. But he also put some really scary stories in her, so while she has thought about it it isn't something she have actually considered seriously if that makes sense. I image her uncle as someone whom would treat her as an equal and spared no little detail in his tales so she'd be just a bit traumatized. Like that scary film you saw when you were a child and your parents didn't really checked the description properly... 2) She has certainly considered other schools, but Virizion tipped the scales by being close by which let her stay with her family. I envision her a bit more like "I build cool stuff" rather then "I design fashion!" so even though creative she probably leans more towards engineer then designer, if that makes sense. So leaning Cobalion due to technology and even towards Terrakion due to "give all pokemons a chance (trough the power of technology!)" but choosing Virizion due to proximity and tactics. (Also I liked the idea of a cosmopolitan port city!) 3) Hmm. I would say some sort of mechanical class. Do Virizion have extra credit projects along the lines of 'build something'; sorta like a scaled up science fair? I know some people at my university built a small car, she'd love something like that! 4) In most cases, quite well. And she could probably figure out something cool to trick one out with : ) But a bit more on the next one: 5) As above, in most cases quite well. I'd say her fear of thunder is not so much about flashing lights and loud noises but the totality of the experience; the sky darkens and water rains down from above. Typically *exactly* how her uncles scary stories would begin ... A pokemon move like Thunder or Thunderbolt is unlikely to provoke that response. Now if Kyogre decides to make an appearance with some electric friend we might be talking panic ... (Or something of that calibre!) 6) A little bit of the mad scientist vibe I think. I'm not sure if I'd play it up often, but it was one of the inspirations I had when dreaming up Alia. Hope that helps and please do come with more questions. It is enlightening for both of us I think : )

Okay, I have an idea. Tell me if it entirely fucks up the world:
Breeders supply the Colleges with Pokemon. Trainername, the son of a pair of breeders, did not much like breeding and wanted to go to one of the colleges. His parents stated that they could in no way afford it, that they'd already sent his younger brother to college, that his younger sister had shown no interest in the ranch, and that they had to have SOMEONE to carry on the ranch. Understandably, he was rather pissed at this. Befriending one of the Pokemon on the ranch and digging out a PC to research, he managed to bootstrap himself into passing the exam, and is setting out to prove to his parents and to the others who have doubted him that if he can't go to college, he'll bring himself to the top through sheer stubbornness.

I'm not the GM, but that doesn't sound completely lore-breaking, just something not allowed because Independents have been restricted from player options.

Alright, I couldn't find a picture that fit what I was going for but here's Hakan Durenod who was raised away from the world of Pokemon, and who's trying to shake the world up with a little sand.

Hold up, just realized something. If we can't control our starters, literally all Type Aces are illegal, as you need at least ONE Pokémon of the appropriate type even with Elemental Connection, right?

pretty sure the GM said that we'd be getting a pokemon of the type of our desired type unless we had done something particularly bad

Daedalus Wow, this forum doesn't censor swear words? And I have been using "Furret" and F*** to replace the actual term. Anyway, your idea works perfectly if independent is allowed but as it is not, it doesn't. I see many ways you can go with changes. I can allow your character to bootstrap himself into passing the entry exam of a college and then hack into their database and turned his tuition fee status to "paid". Student loan is actually an option but if you are bootstrap, why not do it all? And I am sure forcing yourself into college would piss your character's parents off. If you are to go this route, then I would required you to go Adept Tech Edu. and boosting it up when you can because no one can do such cyber crime without outstanding knowledge of the computer. Alternatively, maybe he gives his father a term as exchange of going into college. He can only be in the league for say, 5 years, and then he has to retire no matter what to take over the ranch. many ranchers are former trainers, some retired early after they know they can't make it big in the battle scene and decided to take their talent to a more backstage kind of work and a career with conssitent income. I am not sure why the parents need their children to take over the ranch so quickly though, is there any reason for that? I would imagine they can work until they are very old or something before passing it down to Trainername, like decades down the line. There are other ways to tackle the character but I think the concept kinda lost its jam when you take out the "no college and to the top through sheer stubbornness" part of it. Lockon You have 5 Pokemon to choose from and a Vegas chance at a final randomization draw. It is very unlikely that you will not find a Pokemon of your Type Ace's type among them. If you end up with a starter of the type, then you are eligible. And if you don't take the given Pokemon, like maybe you like the types but not the few useless craps presented to you, then you can leave the features there but they will have no effect until you find a Pokemon of your type. Unless you are going for something like a Dragon Ace or an Ice Ace. For those types, you really need to consider taking the ugly Axew presented to you even if it's your most uninterested Dragon pokemon and not risk your luck on the reroll and the random twist of fate. And don't worry, I am fine with people not growing attached to their starter and dump them in the middle of the game. It will hurt the Pokemon deeply and maybe me too, but we will live...to hate you . Or you can just hold off on Type Aces until a few levels later. Again, in the case of Dragon Ace or Ice Ace, you might not be finding a lot of Pokemon of said types in the beginning of the game so perhaps delaying diving into Type Ace is better. Just start with the Elemental Connection as a fluff of your attachment to that type. Or you can be as stubborn as Daedelus's concept and see how it goes. If you work your ass off going through the every city you visit looking for deals, scan the internet, read every notice on the PokeCenter's board, pray to Arceus a lot, dive deep into the the wild (where no year 1 student has gone before year 2) and you might be able to find some rare types somewhere. Or you can just find one from some shady contact in the black market. You will need a lot of money for a rare type though, and bear the risk of getting arrested and suspended from PBCA tournament for a time period. And you might even get conned and the egg hatches into the dumbest Slowpoke in the world. And maybe that Slowpoke has some insane inheritance moves from level 20 to level 90 but you throw it away out of anger before that is revealed. For the more common types, you have nothing to worry about, and I am willing to overrule the rule and let you hold on to Type Ace as long as you can find a Pokemon of said type in say, the first 3 days. Most are available in many ways but most easily in the wild. But don't say I didn't warn if your way of looking for a Ghost Pokemon is to go deep into the forest at midnight and shout your lungs out hoping a Ghost Pokemon will come out to meet you. A super annoyed Trevenant might just drop a Wood Hammer on your head and keep you perma-trapped in the forest under its illusion.

Wow, this forum doesn't censor swear words? And I have been using "Furret" and F*** to replace the actual term. We have not deemed it necessary as of yet to activate the censors, as it has the potential to stifle roleplay, so long as people are mature about it. Self-censoring is never a bad thing, though. But, please, regardless of your personal choices, keep it PG-13 to abide by Proboard regulations. I'd rather we not have to begin censoring things, but if people begin to take advantage of our lack of filters, we will do what's needed. So, I would recommend erring on the side of caution.

Warr 1. Your Guile should be Pathetic if I am not mistaken. 2. Creative writing is definitely a class in Keldeo, not sure if I want to make it optional or compulsary, but it is a class and poetry is part of it. Your favorite classes can stay but putting it out there if you want to change one of them into creative writing. Poetry club is definitely there. 3. If you must absolutely pick one favorite class, what's your pick and why? 4. What's your opinion on changing scholarship to student loan? Scholarship sort of contradict what I put on Independent being Independent because some of they can't afford to attend the the Four Schools. 5. I personally see Keldeo students as very open to all type of artistic pursuit and even non-artistic pursuit so Wade probably won't get so much hostility from his dream. Some might tease him and berate him but he is definitely not looked down by the whole school. Keldeo is never fully about contests and battle, they will respect say, an architect or a wood sculptor, who utilize Pokemon in those tasks. People with such interest rarely go to Pokemon school though. 1. Guile was raised by the bonus edge from level 2. I felt it made sense to do, because he would have been taught to get over his failings in acting in school. 2. Okay. 3. Creative Writing is likely his favorite, because he enjoys being able to tell a story, that's his ultimate reason for wanting to become a 'modern day bard' because he wants to be able to tell stories to inspire people and he wants to be able to see great things that are worthy of being written as heroic tales. History is probably a bit further behind because not everything in history is inspiring, so yeah, creative writing is the answer. 4. I'd prefer if possible if he got a partial scholarship, even if it only covered a bit and it required loans for the rest. Because that makes it something that he can actually have some real loyalty to the school for, because if he's paying them to train him just so that he can fulfill his dream, I don't think he'd have as much loyalty, unless he paid them less than otherwise required because of scholarship and maybe a work program or the like to help repair pokeballs broken during pokeball handling training by other students at the school. Thoughts on partial scholarship with the rest covered in student loans? Is that enough of a change to make it jive with the setting and the existence of independents? 5. Okay, sounds good. I'll change that as soon as I get a chance to sit down and edit his profile/sheet. I wasn't sure if they were super hard core artists or if that was the stereotype or if it was the stereotype because it was partially true. Thanks.

I have managed to put together the beginning of my character! (Name is still pending, that always takes me a bit admittedly, and I am working on getting the backstory out in words) There are a couple links on her sheet at the moment for reference as to what I talk about for her Musician class and goals (They are on the Musician Class on the first page and one is also linked in the Pokemon Wishlist). While I'm thinking about it, would you think that this is be a new form of creating/manipulating her own music in game or a new medium of doing so? (That's what I've been brainstorming it as and wanted to check before I wrote too much into it)

endlessrainPlenty of days to go so no rush. RobotSorry for the late reply. The idea is pretty interesting and complete anonymity is possible. The chairman and by extend, high ranked comittees around the industry, have a lot of power. Asking everyone to STFU about his identity is fine. Even asking the government to make him a legal, second identity is probably okay too. I use probably because I am not 100% with this idea as of now, but the Pokemon industry has helped out on various things that the government is concerned so the government is more than willing to assist them if necessary. GreenwolfkateThat's very interesting and definitely a new medium of doing so. I have not think the whole musical techonology level thing thorough for Varius(just don't think it would come up in the campaign) and I am probably Pathetic in Music Tech Edu., but I think your character will have to also come up with tools that connect the gloves with the stage equipments herself for the gloves to function. And yes on the idea itself.
