Soseki exhales another puff of smoke before speaking up, "Fuck it, lets go" he speaks abruptly before heading in a seemingly random direction. As he passes Suzume he looks to her and chuckles again briefly. He was growing tired of the company for the most part and didn't want to give the group the idea that they were in control.

Kin is taken aback by Soseki's sudden change of heart. Or maybe it was the vulgarity that left him standing for a moment. "H-hey, wait up." Kin quickly heads after the other boy. Hopefully the girls would follow after them.

Chiyo looks between everyone again and timidly follows along, she wasn't going to take the lead but why would they let Soseki take command? She cant help but think this isn't going to go well. As she follows she looks around in hopes she will spot something of use or a clue as to where they were, or rather what was going on.

As Soseki and company head out in a random direction, Chiyo notices the lights in the distance coming even closer. As the lights approach, their form starts to come into focus, sort of. The crew sees androgynous faces, pale save for the masquerade ball style masks, the rest of their forms obscured by the fog You can tell through the fog that the students do not seem to have conventional bodies, instead their necks connect to a membrane of slightly off color fog |

"Well... that's unsettling." With the general weirdness of the dream Suzume is finding it hard to be completely terrified of these, but she still watches for what madness they produce next.

Chiyo pauses as she sees the faces, before taking a few steps back to be behind the group completely. Glancing around to each she cowers in what this nightmare could produce next.

Well the glowing masked people were pretty unexpected. Kin didn't quite agree with Suzume's use of the word 'unsettling'; it was a dream after all. Though the obscuring mist did make it hard to tell if they were horribly misshapen monsters or something.
Since neither of the girl's seems to want to confront the apparitions, Kin speaks out. Or really, rummages around a bit for something appropriate to say, which also seemed a tad undreamlike. He eventually manages to scrounge up something, "Hey! Do you guys....knowhowtowakeup." He barely project his voice enough that they might be able to hear him and stumbles halfway through.

Soseki looked to the weird fog faces, they weren't the weirdest thing he'd seen but they were defiantly new.
With the group seeming taken back by the sight, Soseki spoke up "I just set a fire in a school classroom full of stuff that could set alight and a slightly spooky mask face is scary to you? Figures"once he's finished addressing the group he began to move forward to get a better look
"Yo! Cone out of the fog and stop looking freaky and weird, the scaredy cat girls will wet themselves" he called out. If it wasn't for his blatant insult, he could be mistaken as a guy who was trying to help.

"I'm not a scaredy cat. I just want to know what's going on..." However, he doesn't sound entirely confident in denial. Well that was an interesting question. Kin hadn't really thought about being afraid before Soseki had mentioned it. Maybe there was a bit of merit to it. Still he couldn't help but think about how dreams had never bothered him and Rin before.

"Be quiet already! Stupid thug! Thanks to you and your fire I've already got wet enough today!" Suzume yells at Soseki, not even aware of what she has just implied. The masks are barely registering next to THIS annoyance. Why'd this guy have to show up in this dream or whatever is going on.

The unreal fog encompassing the crew turns into a gaseous frost, the glowing-eyed masks vibrating and coming into clearer view, their faces as stony and stoic as before, but with a newfound eerie menace behind them. Each of them seems positioned so that the empty eyes are fixated on the delinquent. In the distance Soseki hears what sounds like chanting at first glance, except instead of scary latin phrases, it sounds like multiplication tables. slowly Sako's eyes drift shut

With Soseki collapsing, the mists turning icy and the liveliness of the masked figures, Kin is left to wonder how it was all connected. Plus it's odd to think of someone being asleep inside of a dream. Did those creepy masks have something to do with it? Whatever the cause, Kin shakes the other boy awake, crouching down to get a better grip, "Hey! Uh...now's not the time to be sleeping. So wake up."

Once shook awake, Soseki looked up at the boy before quickly scrambaling to his feet. "Yo, get off me I'm fine, I'm fine." Brushing himself off he looked back at the strange stony masks before grabbing his kendo sword from his waist. He hadn't noticed it was there until now but he didn't care how it got there. "Right then you..." he spat the words like a curse before trailing off "Your dead meat, you hear!" and with that he leapt forward towards the nearest foe swinging at it with his sword. Attack with struggle.

He's attacking it... she thought. Well I mean why not, not like much else of this makes sense... Fight stupid with stupid. She grins, both at her internal dig at Soseki and the thought she had. Stupid though it might be she'd try it out. "Lets see how you feel about being put to sleep!" she declares as she runs up just behind Soseki, drawing her Cornet, and then plays a lullaby Sing KMBTgCnjd20 vs AC 10, Burst 2, Friendly - but Soseki is not friendly so put that thug top sleep, if it misses targets instead suffer -2 evasion d20

Chiyo, looks up as she hears a loud noise, only to find its source to be Suzume playing a lullaby? Why play a lullaby at a time like this? Regardless this shouldn't be something on her mind right now. What does she do? Suzume and Soseki seem to be combating the masks, but what could she do, she's never fought anything before outside of pokemon but that hardly counts, creatures that don't exist in reality. Chiyo, Frustated shouts "Soseki! Be careful!" and reaches out at him, her entire body and outfit glowing in a dim light, Soseki's body mimicking the same light creating a light barrier around him. Chiyo pauses and blinks, "Wha? What did I do?" she says surprised. Hopefully it was something useful. She attempts to examine the creature they are fighting
Standard - Sage ability on Soseki, 8 DR or a full tick of DR for a Full round, whichever is higher.

[/div] Surprisingly, you can't seem to determine a direct parallel between this Shiftless Horde and any particular lore Soseki's blade slashes one of the faces dead on, but faces no resistance, as if slashing through air. Suzume's song however, seems have more effect..maybe. The chill you all feel becomes a bit warmer, and the horde of faces doesn't seem to do...anything

Soseki didn't seem all that fine to Kin since the other boy crumples to the ground once again. Although Kin is confused by how quickly the lullaby had put him to sleep. At least the creepy masks seemed, well, less threatening.
Kin hesitates before waking Soseki up again. "Soseki, you're getting as bad as Uematsu at falling asleep," he intones after a 'gentle' prod from his foot. "Oh, and why are you glowing," Kin adds as an afterthought looking between the boy and Chiyo. His thoughts don't even stray to the creepy masks at this point; other than putting Soseki to sleep, they hadn't even been harmed.

Once again woken by Kin, Soseki scrambles to his feet in a huff, he looked like he was gonna kill someone behind the slightly tired haze. Looking from person to person then to the weird faces he only then heard what Kin had said.
"Shut it, i'm noting like that idiot" he snapped in responce to being similar to Uematsu, but then as he registered the second part of what Kin had said, he looked at himself to see he was indeed glowing. Taking a few steps back from the faces, Soseki looked concerned. "Yo, this is creepy as hell, whats doing this? Is it those mask things? and why couldn't i hit it?"
Flicking his arms as if to shake off the glow he decided to ignore the glow and focus for a second, "Ok screw it, i say we get the hell out of here, cant touch this thing so why try, cmon" He says before turning and heading in another direction.
