Lia shows Noel the way to the healing machine, waits for him and heals her own pokemon after. She makes her way to the break room once more as it seems the day has finally come to an end. She sits down and leans back in a chair, rubbing her temple.
Today was not a good day.

When it becomes obvious that sitting in the break room wasn't going to lead to anything, Lia realizes that this place 'does' in fact host quite a few pools that she could just do some actual swimming in. Especially now that the day is over. Scier grabs a towel for her and sits nearby while she begins doing laps in the pool. Inbetween laps, she takes moments to float, and begin planning out her actions.
I'm 'really' screwed when it comes to the Vermillion Gym, aren't I? Flare, Czolg, and Los all gotta go... If that Voltorb was any indication.
Lia seems to finally remember something, and shoots straight up out of the water.
Dan... After we fought that kick ass match, what did he say? He said Skala would shine there. HMMM. Maybe it's time to give Skala some time back in the sun. But we gotta up dat moveset if we wanna get anywhere. We'd need something besides Shadow Punch, preferrably something ground typed. Other than Skala... well my girl Scier is always up for a fight... Maybe Krol or Kwarc? We'll have to see.
Lia leans back to float once again.
So then, straight down through Saffron? I know that path, at least. Or...
Lia shivers a bit in the water as she remembers Mt. Moon.
Could Rock Tunnel be as bad as Mt. Moon? My team and I could really use the training fighting through the hordes but... I'd be alone this time. Hmmm.

With adoption hijinks and trade shenanigans out of the way, Lia looks for someone to challenge. She finds some weird guy with extra weird facial hair and a partially open shirt. Calls himself Akira and says he's a 'Veteran' trainer that's looking for a good battle.
He will fight with 3 Pokemon, 1v1, with no items.
