UPDATE 2: And I've my choices.
Barberry and Mathis are welcome to Group 1 alongside the reserved slot.
A new group of luckygrace, flarnith, sixer, and matanui3 will be made.
Everyone else, save your sheets. I'll come find you first if I need replacements down the road.
Thanks everyone! You all made it difficult, which is good.

UPDATE: I'm closing recruitment! I'll be looking everyone over this weekend, and choosing probably on Monday, so polish those apps everyone! You're already making it difficult, and I like challenges!
Thanks everybody!

Greetings everybody! ClockworkBen here. I'm running this game right now, but I am down one of my two groups. I am therefore reopening recruitment for one of the Groups. This game is a more simple and vanilla one. As always, feel free to ask questions and stuff, and I'll answer whatever is asked.
For a quick way to contact me, add me on Skype if you haven't already (clocktowerben), and I can add you to the group conversation for this game. Alternatively, let me know in your post or a Private Message, and I can get you in as well.
Backstory
14 years ago, there was war across the young region of Eisen. A great evil manifested itself in a Malamar known only as Zoltan, and with his supreme intellect, he goaded Team Chain and Team Liberty, two diametrically opposed organizations of Humans, into a scuffle that threatened all who lived there. With this front in play, he conducted his plan to subvert the Humans that he despised, and thus control the entire region, which would be his stepping stone to the world. However, Zoltan himself was discovered by six Trainers, whose heroic deeds had stopped the fighting between Team Chain and Team Liberty, and gathered together the 18 Type Diamonds. The reigning Diancie of the underground Diamond Kingdom took these gems and weakened Zoltan enough to allow the Trainers to battle him and seal him away. In the aftermath of the event, the Humans rebuilt what was lost, and both Team Chain and Team Liberty lost their expanding influence. All seemed well now, and Diancie returned to oversee her Kingdom, seeing to it that each Type Diamond was returned to where it belonged.
Today, 14 years later, six Trainers from all over prepare to strike out and tackle the new Eisen League Challenge, the first legitimate League Eisen has ever had since it's settling. With eight Gyms and four Elites, how could they not set out to make a name for themselves as the region's first Champion? Their journeys would set the tone for all future challengers, young or old. Though murmurs exist that Team Chain and Team Liberty are quarreling once more, there is no real evidence to support the rumblings, and no one really pays heed as a result. With all as it is now, everyone is settling in for a long period of establishing the region as capable of standing with any of the others.

Eisen Region
Eisen is a new land that was settled by several notable innovators from across the known world thus far, and from there, has steadily grown into a region in its own right. However, tumultuous times almost ended the dream. Fortunately, when everything was settled, development resumed, leaving the region with the League it was now establishing. The region itself is home to eight major cities, several smaller towns, and plenty of unexplored areas.
As was expected by many, those who'd cause trouble have banded together, and the region is home to two warring teams; Team Chain, a group centered on establishing Human dominance over Pokemon and their powers, and Team Liberte, who seek to completely eliminate anything that would drive a wedge between Human and Pokemon equality. Their small size generally keeps them out of the spotlight for the time being. Contests, musicals, and movies, are all popular art forms, and participation generally elevates one to a spotlight across the region.
The technology is decidedly modern, with some areas of advancement. Everything has been recently receiving a coat of Steampunk paint so to speak. This focus however does lend some suspicion towards those who are more primal in their powers, and creates an uneasy conflict with some religious folks.

Professor
Professor Connor Flikt
Gender: Male
Age: 38
Classes: Ace Trainer / Duelist / Chronicler / Researcher
Pokemon (On-Hand): Furret
The Professor of the Eisen region. Smart and serious in equal measure, but is easily influenced by those surrounding him. Because he has a good eye for detail, he's able to identify problems easily. His focus is on the Pokemon Battles, studying what exactly gives the Pokemon their seemingly limitless energy, their infinite potential, and sheer variety in attacks and effects. He's generally a kind soul, but underestimates others often. He has recruited six young trainers to aid him in his studies, since becoming a Champion will naturally involve plenty of battling. Scatterbrained at the worst of times, but highly insightful at the best. He is infamous for his love of the renowned street magician, Princess Fortissimo, being one of her biggest fans. The most likely to watch late-night contest specials.

Prior qualifying applicants do get priority should they report in. That said, I'll need two others beyond them, and potentially up to four if they don't, so feel free to apply people. That should about cover it. Note also that combat will happen at a roughly equal balance to exploration. I may choose to allow or disallow specifics involved in the Playtest Packets, so consider those as being very free flowing. Thanks for any interest!
