The Pokedex pings as it scans the Pumpkaboo, who is still twirling around in mid-air.
"Pumpkaboo, the Pumpkin Pokémon. Pumpkaboo's eyes can glow, which lights the way for travelers. They often sleep in the ground."
This particular Pumpkaboo is of the "small" variety. (You know everything that bulbapedia can tell you about it.)

Jax also scans the Pokémon from the back of the group.
"Does anyone intend to capture this one?" he asks, the excitement obvious in his voice. "Shall I bring out Abra to converse with it?"

Vincent follows the group's example and scans the Pokemon with his own Pokedex.
"Go ahead and have your Abra talk to it, I don't really want it," Vincent says calmly, almost a little detached.

"I kinda want this cutie, but if you need his help I'll stand back... Actually, do you want to come with us little guy?" JoJo asks, fishing a ball from her blouse to present to the Pumpkaboo
"I'm sure you'll get more spooks from a larger audience if you travel"

The Pumpkaboo seems to consider this for a moment. It twirls around JoJo's head for a bit before deciding that this seems like a good idea. It boops the Poke Ball and disappears inside. The ball pings a moment later.
(Small Pumpkaboo. Level 1. Female. Knows Attract. Cuddly nature.)

(Raven said to go here so here we go! Just doing Trainer actions.) Lia shouts a couple words to let Scier focus up before setting her eyes to focus in on the sandile she's facing down. Lia uses Focused Training (+2 to Accuracy, and +4 to skill checks total from Training/Orders)
She then uses her swift action to 'Tag' the Sandile through her Duelist Feature.

"Focus Vel, and let's start off with Sand Tomb!" Vincent gave quick orders. Vel concentrated hard on using the move for the first time, but in no time at all, a spinning vortex of dirt and sand was produced from the ground. It began moving quickly towards Scier. Initiative: Vel - 15 Vincent Standard Action: Focused Training and Brutal Training via Commander's Voice (+2 to Accuracy, +4 to Skill Checks, +2 to Critical Hit and Effect Ranges)
Vel Standard Action: Sand Tomb (Ground-type, Physical) AC4 vs AQdqTvVL1d20+2 (Target put in Vortex. Crits on 18+) Damage: 2d6+32 1d20+2·2d6+32

If you want, I'll let you re-do your move as it was a bit unfair for you to waste a turn like that. Scier sees the vortex coming, and floats quickly out of harms way. (Levitate, user is immune to damage and effects of ground-type moves) She responds from her newly elevated position with a mental assault! Confusion Ac 2 Psychic Special (Confuses on 19+) HWkEfdXx1d20+2 2d6+28
Assuming that was a hit, Scier ends the scene with +2 to Momentum.
Lia will just maintain Orders on her turn. For now.

I don't mind, I only used Sand Tomb because it's the only really ranged move that Vel has and I assumed Scier was making use of his Levitate Speed to stay out of Melee range since she's always floating around. Did you use Confusion on purpose to make up for the turn I lost, or was that a mistake too? Vincent resisted the urge to facepalm. Of course Chingling was be able to Levitate, so Ground-type moves would be ineffective. His frustration with himself is eased though, when Scier responds with a move that does absolutely nothing. Must have been Psychic-type. That won't work on Dark-types."Leer it and wait for it to come to you, Vel," Vincent said. Vel leered at the Chingling, making sure to give her an especially menacing stare. Vincent Standard Action: Brutal and Focused Orders
Vel Standard Action: Leer AC2 vs CLItup1V1d20+2 (Cone 2, Defense reduced -1 Combat Stages) (If Scier is out of range feel free to have her be not affected)
Swift Action: Intimidate (Range 5, Attack reduced -1 Combat Stages) 1d20+2

Uhhhh nope, that was me forgetting it's ground/dark. Oops. Guess we'll call this the real turn 1.
Also Scier is indeed floating but can only go 2 meters off of the ground. Still reachable by melee. Well that was... eventful. Scier floats closer and releases a sleepy yawn in the direction of the sandile. Yawn Normal status no ac Target falls asleep at the end their next turn. Can't miss.
Lia continues orders.

Vincent was getting a little agitated now, since practically nothing was happening in the battle so far. Perhaps his strategy needed some work. "Never mind waiting, just double up on Bite!" Vincent said. "Ah wait, if it only takes one attack, stop there!" Vincent added as he incorporated type effectiveness into this brutal strategy. Vel gets yawned at and can't help but release a sleepy yawn of his own. Suddenly he's struggling to stay awake. Despite his increasing sleepiness however, he manages to jump and try to bite into the metallic skin of the Chingling, the exertion leaving Vel panting with his mouth wide open. A few seconds later, Vel promptly falls asleep. Vincent Standard Action: Focused Orders and Strike Again! via Commander's Voice
Vel Standard Action: Bite (Dark, Physical) AC2 vs vZPcji3c1d20+2 Damage: 2d8+39
Standard Action 2: Bite (Dark, Physical) AC2 vs 1d20+2 Damage: 2d8+39
Edit: Actually, I just calculated the damage that the first attack would do, and it looks like it'd knock Scier out in one hit. Attacking more after that would just be overkill, so I had Vincent stop Vel from continuing further after that unless my calculations were wrong. 1d20+2·2d8+39·1d20+2·2d8+39

Of course everyone has bite when I do psychic starter.
Scier gets knocked right out and flops to the ground with a dulled 'ding' "Scier!"Lia's face betrays her swelling anger. "Fine then. Straight to the new guy."She recalls Scier and let's her new Golett out to play. Skala- Init 5

Should I be concerned, Vincent wonders as he watches anger play across Lia's face. Probably not, he concludes. Let's see if Cal is up to the challenge, she shouldn't have too hard of a time.
Vincent recalled his Sandile and sent out a Zorua. Come to think of it, I've never actually used her illusions in battle. I should do that at some point. "You're up Cal, use Pursuit!"Initiative Cal - 10 Vincent Shift Action: Recall Vel Shift Action: Release Cal Swift Action: Focused Orders
Cal Standard Action: Use Pursuit (Dark, Physical) AC2 vs d7HDk01W1d20+2 (Crits on 19+) Damage: 2d6+29
Sorry, but you're going to be seeing a lot of Dark type attacks from Vincent and his Pokemon D: 1d20+2·2d6+29

(Doesn't a manual switch forfeit the pokemon action? Also the dark issue is just with Scier and me running into dark types early on. Edit: And Golett too apatently... *sighs louder*)

Manual switching works like this: If it is a League Battle (no trainer participation), you forfeit your Pokemon's action to swap out. If it is not, all's good. See Core Book pg. 229 for the flow chart.

Gah, I kept thinking this was a Full Contact Battle. Ignore the attack rolls then, the command will be for later.

Lia focuses in on the new pokemon before turning to Skala. "You got this! Curl up!"The Golett turns itself into a defensive ball! Lia again tags the new pokemon using her remaining swift action. Skala uses Defense Curl! Skala endS the round with 1 momentum. I mean if you want to turn it full contact we can so Lia can punch you haha

"You know what to do," Vincent says, and Cal immediately rushes towards her opponent and tries to rake the curled up target with claws cloaked in a hazy dark energy. Vincent Standard Action: Focused and Brutal Orders via Commander's Voice
Cal Standard Action: Use Pursuit AC2 vs 2ZI9a5En1d20+2 (Crits on 18+) Damage: 2d6+29
Heh, I would've been up for it at the start, but now that we're already in the middle of the battle I think it might be better not to mess with the flow of the battle. If Lia challenges Vincent to a 1 on 1 spar afterwards he wouldn't say no though. Also, darn I wish I could use that perfect damage roll from last time... that sweet maximum 41 damage... Edit: Never mind, a crit is better! Crit Roll: 2d6+8 1d20+2·2d6+29·2d6+8
