In her defence, JoJo had only planned on lecturing her travelling companion, but watching him brutally strive to crush the hapless creature's skull, she kinda lost it. She strode right up the very intimidating, very muscular, very big Max Press, and proceeded to reach up and slap him in the face, accidentally dropping Billie Jean (to her credit, BJ managed to use her super jumping powers to shift to her trainer's shoulder with relative ease) " You heartless JERK! Fighting a wild pokemon in defence, or planning to capture it is one thing, but why the hell would you beat up a pokemon just to get 'stronger'?! It's not strong enough for you to want to catch it, so it clearly isn't a fair fight. Not to mention what happens to the poor thing after you beat it up? Do you know how many pokemon get eaten while they're unconscious because some lunkhead bully like you thought they made good punching bags?!"
At that point, a smart trainer in her position would've back-pedaled a little, or at least apologized for the sudden slap in the face, but instead the newly minted trainer turned her attention to the poor doof, checking to make sure it was okay Move | Struggle | Category | Physical

The Bidoof takes a nasty hit from Max, but doesn't seem terribly injured. In fact, it seems to be attempting to flee.
(Either of you may try to stop it if you wish to. Otherwise it will escape into the tall grass.)

JoJo came storming up on Max pretty fast, but he paid her no mind. She was an ally, and he was planning his next attack against this wild Bidoof. He didn't care about knocking it out and leaving it in the wild like that. Trainers have been doing that for decades. The entire Pokémon ecosystem has practically come to rely on Trainers behaving this way to keep the Pokémon species population in check.
Max's trust in JoJo proved to be misplaced. Totally unprepared for her attack, Max takes the slap right across the face. As the sting of the impact lights up every nerve ending across that side of his face, his vision goes red. She is saying something to him, but it just sounds like "Wah wah-wah wah wah-wah."
With a bestial roar, Max forgets all about the fleeing Bidoof and attacks back with a wild swing. Struggle attack, base AC 4.O8oXU5UG1d20 Damage.1d8+15

JoJo was relieved to see the bidoof walk off relatively unharmed, and was about to turn and say something along the lines of " we should probably go before he brings back some friends" but the instant she turned back to face Max he had swung a giant meaty fist that landed square in the rib cage. Before JoJo could even catch her breath, another robot arm decided to give a personal greeting from behind, hitting in just the right spot to make JoJo cough up blood. Meanwhile Billie Jean, though offput by the sudden rush of violence, kept her balance just long enough to cling to her trainer's hair. This was bad. The pompous dancer didn't know how she expected her ploy to save the bidoof to play out, but this was not it. She couldn't turn this into a full blown fight: Billie Jean was a lover, not a fighter, so it would be two-on-one, and regardless of who won group harmony would be almost irredeemable. With all other options lost, the day-seven trainer fell back on her greatest asset. Staggering back into a stable position, Jolyne fell back on her training as a dancer took a graceful, careful pirouette away from her travelling companion. She withdrew into a frightened, gazelle-esque pose, seeming to play with her bow in worry, and with misty eyes from a 70-30 split of pain and force of will " You don't really want to hurt me, do you?JoJo takes 1 injury JoJo's shift action: Disengage JoJo's swift action: Activate Adorable Fashion (effective 4 evasion until the end of the round JoJo's standard action JoJo used | Flirt | Class | Status | Type | Typeless | Accuracy Check | e9DEC4ls1d20 vs 2

JoJo's attempt to infatuate Max doesn't seem to work, but his swings have become wild and uncoordinated. Roaring like an animal gone mad, Max swings and swings again, JoJo gracefully dodging out of the way, until he begins to exhaust himself. Beldum never attacks again as long as JoJo doesn't attack Max. Eventually Max runs out of steam, and pauses to place his hands on his knees and catch his breath. He's dripping with sweat. If Speed Evasion applies to everything like I think it does, that's why I played it out like that, with Max basically avoiding the effects of the Move. Also, no more attack rolls against a fellow PC are necessary to get the point across that hitting him causes him to rage.

JoJo felt like she was spinning forever, dancing circles around the raging athlete. By the time Press had worn himself out, Billie Jean was holding on by a single strand of hair, which promptly snapped mere seconds after her trainer came to a stop. The self-styled diva of Pallet wasn't angry anymore. It didn't make sense for someone in as good a shape as Max to get winded before she did. Something was going on, it had to have been.
"Are you okay?"

"Fine," Max pants, wiping his mouth. The faintest whirring noise can be heard coming from his elbow and shoulder; almost machine-like in its sound. He looks around like he's learning his surroundings all over again. He looks for the Bidoof and then seems to understand that it got away. He looks for his Beldum and finally notices it behind him. He recalls it into its Poké Ball.
"Sorry," Max finally adds. "I don't do so well when I get hit. You okay? Did I hurt ya, do we need to head back into Pallet for healing? Hey, wait, why'd you hit me anyway?!"

JoJo resisted the urge to facepalm, but could not fight the compulsion to frown.
"You were going to use that bidoof as a punching bag. It wasn't going to attack you, and we both know that a bidoof wouldn't come close to counting as a challenge for your beldum. Beating it to a pulp and leaving it for dead is bad enough, but then you had to take those odds already stacked against it, and then beat up the thing yourself. You cannot convince me that two against one with already superior force isn't bullying " JoJo had tried to explain in a calm, level voice, but she was on a roll, and by the time she had finished she was practically foaming at the mouth. She stopped herself, took a deep breath, and swallowed her pride.
"I'm sorry I acted so rashly."

(that looks about right) Buddy Holly went reeling back, receiving a harder blow than he was used to. At the zenith of his backward motion he clung to the bow JoJo had moved from BJ to him before the match, gaining a certain confidence, and charged forward to show the Big Goof exactly what he was made of. The sentret charged past the zigzagoon, scratching across the Big Goof's back and letting a thin stream of scarlet flow out of its back. Shift: 2 meters past Big Goof (Pass) Swift: Activate Adorable Fashion (effective 4 evasion until end of next turn) Standard Buddy Holly Used | Scratch | Class | Physical | Type | Normal | Accuracy Check | HXDkGdsg1d20 vs 2
| Damage | 2d6+18
| Crit Damage | 4d6+26
| Range | Melee Pass | Effect | None |
(Feel free to double check my math, but I believe that Big Goof was brought from full health to 11 in one hit, meaning it gained two injuries. It already had two injuries before it was healed and you can only heal 3 injuries per day, so when we heal up a second time make a note of that and only heal one injury) 1d20·2d6+18·4d6+26

(ooc: Tell me if I did this wrong Using Live and Learn Feature) "Try it again!" Kyo says, seeing as the attack was just missed then another attack was made on the Big Goof. 5QHRkVcS1d20+2 (Accruacy with Live and Learn) 2d6+14 (tackle) 1d20+2·2d6+14

(Pretty much, yeah)
The Big Goof charge and hit Buddy in just the right spot to send him flat on the Earthshaking, eyes glazed over in unconsciousness, game, set, and match. JoJo ran up the the Sentret and cradled him in her arms.
"Good hustle out there buddy, and great job, Goof! Now let's go patch you both up"
Buddy Holly gains 2 3 injuries and is fainted (How much XP do each of us get?)

The group decides they want to see if they can't encounter a few more Pokemon before nightfall. After maybe 20 minutes of searching, the group comes across and Oddish and a Wurmple playing together.

JoJo looks on, her heart warmed at the simplicity of these pokemon enjoying each other's company. These were not what Jax was looking for, but they'd been walking a bit, why not take a break? JoJo sat and watched the pokemon at play
