Floyd tilts his head in thought before responding with slightly unfocused eyes.
"Saffron Genetics developed a method to create pokemon-human hybrids. I don't know how anyone profits from this but I also don't see how having that knowledge aids humanity. A criminal element within the company stole this information and kidnapped several researchers, forcibly creating hybrids from random people they kidnapped for unknowable ends. The same criminal organisation created something called Delta Pokemon - impossibly typed pokemon that they offer to trainers struggling in gym battles for unspecified favours later. They gave my a Delta Vespiquen in return for blood sample that they took later and they have indicated they intend to exploit this connection further somehow. Our friend was abducted by this criminal organisation and with the aid of one of your former employees who was kidnapped and unwillingly turned into a hybrid we were able to find a list of four off the books sites that we assumed were the criminal organisation stealing more resources from your company. If that is not the case then you should know that at least one other party accessed that information before we did, likely the criminals."
He says in an utterly flat tone before blinking and focusing on the woman.
"And unless you have any proof that you're telling the truth we'll have to reject your mercy. There is too much riding on our actions and knowledge for us to let you stop us."

The woman seems entirely nonplussed about Floyd's explanation. "I see. That is very interesting news. I wasn't aware people were going around handing out Delta Pokemon so openly. Yes, I know about them. They're supposed to be a secret project, much like the Hybrids. Yes, I know about them too. Clearly if you three have learned about these beyond-top-secret projects, then we need to increase our security and do some house cleaning. I do thank you for bringing this to my attention." Then she seems to remember Floyd's comment about not understanding how this applies to 'helping humanity'. "Ah, yes, I suppose it's only fair I explain things to you, if only in the hopes that it will dissuade you from further violence. These projects help humanity by enabling us to understand Pokemon better on a genetic level. Delta Pokemon are a natural occurrence as far as we can tell; a mutation of sorts. We're attempting to look into how they occur so we can predict them. Pokemon naturally live very long lives compared to regular animals, and even people. Even with all of the advances in medical technology and lifestyle improvements for the everyday person, we still have barely managed to crack the century mark in our individual lifespans, and even that's rare. Now, by combining the DNA of a human and a Pokemon we can, hopefully, extend the lifespan of these brave volunteers. Again, Hybrid Poke-People (or whatever you wish to call them) are meant to be part of a volunteer-only project. It's a very dangerous and expensive project, which is why it is nowhere near ready for the public to become aware of it. Additionally, we hope to learn more about Pokemon in their native habitats by being able to interact with them more directly. To become part of their communities in a way that no human ever has before. Do you understand now? I do hope so."

"People have lost their memories, their bodies, their identities. Saying you'll clean house is meaningless. The victims deserve vengeance - the criminals must be exposed, their ill deeds brought into the light so they can never again enjoy life, even if they avoid jail time."
Floyd says, quieter than before.
"Not because my friends have suffered, not because I have put myself at risk. Because that is what justice demands. Because secrecy is why this happened, why no one has been able to connect random people disappearing. Because your company has people who pretend to be police in order to take down those that oppose them."
He looks back at the woman.
"Does the name Vasiliwen mean anything to you?"

The woman shrugs. "While I may personally agree with you, due to these people besmirching the good name of Saffron Genetics, I cannot say what will happen to these people when they are inevitably brought to justice. Secrecy is an unfortunate necessity in my line of work. It keeps the average citizen happy and contented. Would the world be a better place if such secrets didn't exist? Perhaps, but most likely not. Not as the world is now. The government keeps secrets for a reason, young trainers. They may not like it, but they do it in order to protect the general populace. Were it not for us meeting under these circumstances, perhaps I would have suggested you try getting a job in law enforcement, or government when you eventually retire from the life of a traveling Pokemon trainer. For whatever it may be worth, young man, you seem like you have a good head on your shoulders. I'd truly hate to see that go to waste, so I implore you once more to encourage your friends to come quietly with us. We'll get this whole thing sorted out. If you resist, I'm afraid that it will only hurt your case."
At the mention of Valisilwen's name, the woman's eyes narrow almost imperceptibly. Were it not for Floyd's inherent paranoia, he might have missed it. She recognizes that name, if nothing else. For just an instant, her calm facade is replaced with irritation, but then it's gone again. "I'm afraid I don't know who you are referring to. I've never heard of this person before." She's lying. She's lying. She's lying. About this if nothing else, but this one instance of confirmed lies is all it takes for Floyd's mind to jump down the rabbit hole of paranoid delusions.

Floyd's eyes flick to Kaeda, looking to see how she's reacting before speaking again.

Kaeda, while glaring holes into these people's heads, has tried to read the lady's mind as she talked with Floyd. She also plants the suggestion of teeling the exact location of the hybrid facility. Telepathy focus check: 3b20UaAg6d6 6d6

Kaeda finds her telepathy blocked entirely from the woman and her two bodyguards. The other two are able to be read, but all she gets is a sense of resigned duty from the first and excitement about showing off his Pokemon fashion from the second.

Kaeda rolls her eyes, grumbles, and looks to Floyd. "Done with them yet? I'm set to leave them to their watery grave, so we can hurry on out of here." Kaeda taps her foot impatiently.

Ugh! This wasn't good. These guys weren't messing around - but somehow she doubted their generosity. Or her own chance at a fair trial for 'terrorism'. And if they are legit they really should lock their doors better - what if someone really wanted to unleash a plague!
But on the other hand; watery grave sounded a bit harsh. Too harsh. But one thing at a time. Jane was sure that she could talk some sense into her new friends after they had smacked these scrubs along a bit!

"We aren't going to kill anyone."
Floyd says to Kaeda, giving her the harshest glare he'd ever given anyone - his eyebrows twitched downwards.
"But we won't be surrendering so a trio of nameless goons. So either fight us or get out of the way."
He finishes turning back to the woman and pulling a pokeball off of his belt.

The woman sighs. "Honestly, I can't say I'm surprised at this point." She, surprisingly, seems genuinely saddened that it came down to a fight. "Jericho. Nathan. Please take care of our guests for me? I have other business I must attend to at this time. Oh, and try not to injure them too badly if possible. I'd rather they not be laid up in the hospital for weeks, however convenient it might make things." She and her two bodyguards turn and leave, heading further into the complex. This seems to imply there is another exit somewhere up ahead. Possibly one only known to high-ranking employees.
The two remaining men turn to face the group, one drawing a handgun and a Pokeball, and the only only pulling out a Pokeball. The man with the gun seems to have some sort of strange device on his left arm, however. It's unclear what it is.

Oh no a gun! Jane was startled by it's sudden appearance - she had expected those things to be censored at the very least!

Backtracking through the facility isn't difficult. Busting the already damaged exit open again and re-sealing it a second time is much harder though. Still, it gets done, and the group is once again floating on the surface of the ocean. Probably best to return to land and regroup for a new attempt tomorrow.

Floyd climbs aboard Calyx and looks at the other two.
"We can set out at dawn to get Lia, but we can't leave before that and be in any condition to fight. We need our rest." He says bluntly, brushing his hand against Ossia's pokeball. "Especially since they might know we're coming now."

"Yeah... This went poorly." Jane sighed. She had hoped to be reunited with her other friends now. Bleh. She really didn't like this whole situation; something was clearly fishy. It almost felt like she was barking up the wrong tree somehow. But on the other hand - that woman was clearly guilty of *something*. "If that hag was telling the truth we might not be welcome around civilization anymore ... And if was a lying liar like she looked we're 'only' in trouble with some weird science-criminals. Bleh!"
She looked quite sour as she remounted Tia. Then, after a long hug from her pokémon, she felt a bit better. "That really doesn't matter now does it? We'll just have to regroup and try again! Now - uh ..." Jane steeples her fingers and tries to look down on her feet, but they're under water. "Do you have a spot where I could crash? I *uh* couldn't find my house ..." Gods that really sound as dumb as it is doesn't it?

Kaeda is in a pretty gloomy mood just as she's thinking over things. Her attention is grabbed when the others speak up. "Huh?...Yeah...We the next place tomorrow..." She then stares at Jane for a moment. She was still a total stranger....Buuuut they had housed much stranger folk, like a eevee maniac, and 2 human/pokemon hybrids..."Hey...We have lots of room at our place. It's up near Cerulean....You did help us out here soooo....Just stick with us, yeah?" Kaeda rested her head on her Mantine, and shut her eyes as it carried her back to shore.

"And if it turns out this is all a false lead for you, we'll help you find your friends and home when we've saved Lia."
Floyd adds with a confident nod.

"Yes! Thank you!" Jane nodded her head vigorously, relieved that she wasn't sleeping outside tonight. And by the promise of further aid! She kinda missed people already ... Plus there were something clearly fishy going on - and not just because they were in the middle of the ocean.

Floyd gets up well before dawn the next day, preparing to raid another facility and hopefully rescue Lia.
