She looks over to Nalkeya.

Lia tries to flash a convincing smile before turning to leave.
"But yeah I'll leave you two ladies alone. Have fuuuuun."
Unless they have more to say, Lia heads back outside to meet with Kaeda.

Kaeda raises an eyebrow. "Alright then." Kaeda hops on her Hydreigon, and takes off to Fuschia. Upon reaching the center, she obviously swaps her dragon out for something else, and heads out to the base of the mountain. "*sigh*...I hate this."

Fuschia Gym's Base Camp is as lively as it is on every challenge day. Trainers milling about, getting ready for the long climb up the mountain.

Lia runs with Kaeda to the base of the mountain and waits at the bottom for Kaeda. She gives her a kiss good luck and unless she has something to say, watches her go and waits for her shortcut up the mountain.

Surt the Darmanitan attempts to climb up the rocky face, but his hands slip several times along the way, nearly sending both him and Kaeda back to the bottom via the Express Route. Thankfully, they make it to the first switchback, where it really starts to get cold and icy.

Keysi almost seems to chuckle at the request. He states that there is no such thing as 'gentle' teleportation. How rough it feels is based on the individual, though he also claims that Alakazam like him have the 'smoothest' teleportation among Psychic types. He lays a hand on Lia's arm and teleports the two of them to the top of the mountain. Lia instantly feels cold and a bit dizzy from the sudden lack of oxygen.

Lia has to shake her head and try to shake off the weird feeling and quickly dons her winter coat so she's not freezing to death. She looks around, wondering where she's been ported too.

Keysi has teleported the pair of them to the top of the mountain. The same arena she fought Valisilwen in last time she was here, except this time she is alone but for the Alakazam. Which has just vanished again. Thankfully she's not waiting long before Gym Leader Anastasia comes out of the small building a ways off of the arena.
"Hello again, Lia." She says politely, the Alakazam and a Glaceon now at her side. "Are you ready to challenge me then? How many Pokemon would you like to use, and will you be wanting the Basic or Advanced Challenge?"
Kaeda's Darmanitan has some difficulty with the constantly melting and re-freezing ice on the rocks, and only just barely makes it to the top of the second switchback after nearly an hour's climb.

Lia stops and is too curious not to ask.

It's really hard to climb a mountain it turns out, but they must push on.

Anastasia nods. "She fought hard, and in the end did manage to secure a victory, though it was a close one. That strange, purple Luxray of hers proved to be the mvp of the fight, though Keysi did give it a run for its money once he Mega Evolved. If you are ready, however, we may begin the battle at your leisure. This being an official arena, it has been specially shielded so that stray attacks do not cause undue harm to the environment, or those still climbing the mountain below."
Back down on the mountain, Kaeda and Surt begin their final push. They have only just made it to the top when the storm that has been raging the entire time suddenly intensifies, forcing them into a small, nearby cave that seemed just a little too conveniently placed. Of course, by now, Kaeda knows that the storm is caused by a Pokemon, and is part of the Gym Challenge, so of course there'd be a helpful place to hide when it randomly intensifies.

Lia curses under her breath. She had hoped she took the wind out of her Vali's sails by roughing up her pokemon, but I guess this is neither here nor there. Although that note about having to face a mega Alakazam didn't really settle Lia's mind. She wish she had Los, but without ONE of these badges, that's not happening.
She just nods.
"Alright sure. Whenever you are ready."

Thankfully Kaeda's Darmanitan has enough body heat to keep them warm in the cave. They wait out the storm, and keep on climbing.

The storm lasts only an hour, but it seems like an eternity. Eventually though, it does subside, and Kaeda and Surt can finish the last leg of the journey. There are no more rocky faces to climb this time, so it is only a relatively brief trek up the rest of the way. Darmanitan's body heat, however, makes it at once slightly easier and slightly harder. Easier in that the snow melts away in the immediate vicinity of the fire-type, but more difficult when it is re-frozen moments later, even around the Darmanitan's legs! By more actively breathing little streams of fire, however, the pair eventually reach the top. At the mountain's peak stands only a battle arena, with no visible structures nearby (the leader is a well-known ninja, however, so it's likely cloaked somehow). Whether or not a hidden structure exists, there is a small bench in an alcove that is shielded from the storm. No sooner does Kaeda think to make her way towards it when she sees a figure exit it. It is likely that Kaeda does not recognize the young, purple-haired lad, but he is there nonetheless. He shivers a bit as he exits, then takes notice of Kaeda and her Darmanitan. "Oh, hello there! A fellow Challenger, I assume?" He calls out as he slowly approaches the pair. "Quite an impressive Darmanitan you have."
