After a moment of staring at the stone, if Eve looks up, she'll catch Lia staring at her over the stone.
"Can... I help you?"

Eve did look up... eventually. "Ah! That's right!" She jumped up straight, almost slipped, and just barely caught herself against the rails. "I was going to ask if you were going to use your mega stone today? I've seen Kaeded and Orpheus use their mega stone before, but this will be the first chance I get to see someone use their mega stone for the first time! If you don't mind, could I watch?"

"I mean... I'm not quite sure if it's the best idea to do on open water? I don't want Los to eat the boat."

Eve blinked. After a pause, she asked, "... Like that one movie?".

Lia thinks for a few moments.
"I mean... in the movie, the Sharpedo wanted to eat people. I half-expect Los to say 'fuck it that boat looks tasty'."

"So then I guess that's an improvement... in a way." Eve tried to look at the bright side of things. "Hm... Well, whatever it is that you're comfortable with, I'd still like to watch the first time you mega evolve Los. Even out here in the open ocean, I think we have enough firepower to keep Los away from the boat. Though, I don't like the idea of having to fight against her..."

Kaeda gets up in the morning, trains her pokes, and with other people seeming busy, she happily rides Nemesis around further from the boat. The Lapras enjoys being able to roam, and stretch out more in the open water.

Lia catches Kaeda riding around in the water, and gives her a wave before turning back to Eve.
"I don't like the idea of having to blast Los either, so we'll wait. I'll be sure to let you know. It'll probably be right after we get back."

"Mm!" Eve agreed with a nod. Then she walked away with a, "Then I'll be going~" to let Lia admire her girlfriend in peace.

Kaeda battles a few random pokes about, and then after Nemesis has had some fun, they return to the boat. Kaeda hops back on next to Lia. "Hi there, beautiful. Enjoying the sights?"

Lia laughs and looks back out.
"You could say that."
She takes another look at the Mega Stone and then puts it away safely. She turns toward Kaeda.
"Have fun out there, babe?"

Several days later....
After nearly a week and a half on the open sea, Calyx finally begins to stir. He changes the boat's direction, which then leads to... the middle of nowhere. You are now sitting in the middle of the sea, with no landmarks around whatsoever. A quick look below the surface of the water reveals a giant, natural tunnel that seems to head straight down for quite some way. If a water Pokemon were sent down to scout it out, they would find themselves unable to push further than about 20 meters (~60 feet) down due to the underwater currents. It seems that it would take a powerful swimmer to be able to weather that and make any headway at all. This must be the place that leads to the hidden Blastoise sanctuary.

Floyd prepares quickly, changing into his diving gear and leaving his pokeballs in his bag. Diving into swift currents was an inherently dangerous task and he wasn't going to complicate that with anything more than the bare essentials. He straps his diving knife and waterproof flashlight to his belt and returns to the deck, smiling in anticipation as he nods at Calyx before turning to the others.
"I'd say wish me luck, but there's something better. Lia, can I borrow your underwater tracker in case Calyx and I get separated?" He says confidently.

Lia tosses both parts to him.
"I'll wish you luck anyway. Don't need to lose your armored butt out there in the sea. You sure you don't want me coming down to help?"

Floyd's smile grows wider and warmer in response to Lia as he catches the tracker parts.
"If you really want to follow you may, but you managed alone and I intend to do the same. Which is why I'm not wearing armour, I don't want to sink to the bottom and force Calyx to save me." He says.

Once Floyd is finished securing his scuba tank and breathing apparatus, he joins Calyx in the water and the two begin to make their way slowly down to and into the tunnel. It takes some time, and Floyd is nearly swept off of Calyx's back several times, but they eventually reach a point past the rapid currents. The water here is calm, but almost entirely dark. With only the small flashlight and Calyx's instincts to guide their way, Floyd and his Blastoise slowly push further on. By now, the tunnel has leveled out. No longer going deeper, but merely straight on ahead. Closer examination of the walls reveals that they are smoothed out by many years of flowing water.
After what seems like ages of swimming, something looms in the darkness up ahead. It turns out to be several large boulders that block the way forward. Seems like they'll need to be moved before you can go further.

FLoyd and Calyx carefully examine the boulders, looking for a weak link in the obstacle.

Upon determining the boulders are meant to be moved, Calyx and Floyd try pushing them clockwise.

The first boulder moves smoothly out of the way (with some effort), as if it were in a track. It slides into the nearby tunnel wall, pushing through without any of the expected resistance of stone. The other one slides similarly into the opposite wall, and the way is clear. Floyd's relief is short-lived when he realizes he still can't see the surface, even after several more minutes of swimming back up. A quick check on his air gauge indicates he has used roughly half of his tank's oxygen supply, with no spares. Hopefully the trip back won't be as long, or as difficult as moving those heavy boulders.
Finally, with just barely over 1/4 of the tank's air supply remaining, Floyd and Calyx break the surface. Before them is a large island, with several Squirtle and Wartortle playing on the beach. A few older Wartortles can be seen supervising. The younglings quickly scatter when you approach, and the supervisors spring into action. In this case, that action seems to be "go get the elders" or something, as one of them runs off towards the inner parts of the island while the rest watch you and Calyx very carefully.

Floyd immediately pulls off the breathing apparatus, breathing in fresh air as he considers his next move. He stops supporting himself on Calyx's shell and moves with his partner into the shallows, making sure his feet are firmly on sand before talking.
"Hello. I am Floyd and this is Calyx." He says, making sure to clearly and loudly enunciate each syllable. "We are here to find a mega stone and we don't intend to cause any trouble." He pauses and looks around, waiting to see if any response would be forthcoming.
