Lia's having trouble sleeping at the center. She's done nothing but her walk back from Saffron, so she's not really that tired. Her minds working just a bit too much, thinking about her situation. Something's failed her. Something's not working. What good are all these dodgy flips when she can only take a few hits from big freaking monsters and fall? What good is her training if she can't do any real damage?
And most of all, she can't ignore just how she felt during that battle. Not the whole thing, but toward the beginning, when she was hit with that blinding anger.
She couldn't ignore how damn GOOD it felt.
She finally pushes the thoughts out of her head and gets some sleep.
_________________
The next morning she wakes up, and heads to the ranch. The few newcomers get to know the rest of Lia's pokemon. (More Brunhilda and Cie, rather than the angry Aerodactyl and the powerful Larvesta, who just are mostly on their own)
Lia sits there watching them, thinking again. One things clear. She's not the kinda knowledgable trainer in psychics like Kaeda is, and her attempt to teach her psychics aren't working.
Me leaning on my psychics is just making me weak to Vincent and basically ninety percent of trainers out there with a dark mo-
She sits up, an idea in her head.
Ok wait a minute. If Murder Lady von chucklehead and the sand ninjas get pokemon with weird typing, why can't I do that? And whats stopping me from stripping AWAY type advantage? Hmmmm.
She has a stop to make first before really investing anything into this (The gym, which will be handled later), but once she has time, she teaches her party some moves and tries to see if they can focus in on the Normal type rather than anything. After some work and a promising seed of an idea, she heads back into the city to purchase something for herself she's needed for a while. And then...

Kaeda took the rest of the day to sleep. She was frustrated she couldn't pull out a win, and Orpheus was depressed she couldn't win for Kaeda. Sleeping next to each other on a nice bed does wonders for the mind and soul. They really didn't have much to say to each other after today. Suddenly, Orpheus's eyes pop open, she sits up, and stares off in a direction. She can "hear them".....Kaeda's eyes flutter open as Orpheus is climbing out a window. She pops up, and grabs her before she gets loose. "Dammit, Orpheus! You can't just....leave like that!" With a final pull, they go spilling back into the room. This wasn't the first time this happened. Orpheus holds onto Kaeda tightly. "I can hear them....feel them....they are calling me, Kaeda....." Kaeda hugs her close for a few minuets, and finally gets back to what she needed to do in this part of the region....
A few days ago...
After the group had gone in different directions in Lavender, KAeda had made it a goal to investigate something. The specific thing she wanted to find was that stone that nasty woman had. That stone gave her massive amounts of strength, and access to "Mega Evolution." She needed a stone of her own. A day or two into their adventure, Orpheus began to act strange. Upon evolving, she claimed she could "hear voices." Kaeda had waved it off at first, but Orphues claimed they were there, and got stronger in places. She would even try to wander off randomly, and this began to worry Kaeda. After a bit more traveling, she decided to take a pit-stop at the party's ranch. She could rest here, and continue later....
Present day...
Kaeda left the ranch, and walked into the Cerulean Gym. She remembers her battles here, and receiving her 2nd badge. But, she needed something else right now. She immediately sought out the Gym Leader. "Aleisandra. Good to see you once again. I have come in need of information. I'm looking for a special stone that can invoke "Mega Evolution.""

Vincent had spent the week doing different things. At first, following his epiphany, he'd trained hard with the Gym Trainers at the Saffron Fighting Gym in order to find a style of fighting that suited him. Surprisingly although he'd mostly punched his way through encounters so far, he found he had a lot of synergy with kick-heavy style based on Hitmonlee. Perhaps he should have tried learning proper martial arts earlier.
At some point, he decided that with his team having gotten much stronger, it was time to look into alternative ways of gaining more strength. He went to Cerulean City in order to inquire about Keystones with Aleisandra, the last Gym Leader he'd faced. He was surprised to see Kaeda there, already talking to the Gym Leader. "Hello Aleisandra, Kaeda," Vincent said. "I don't suppose you would be talking about Keystones would you?"

As luck would have it, Kaeda and Vince caught Alei on one of her days off. The Gym is still "open", but not accepting challengers at this time. She is more than happy to discuss the subject of Keystones and Mega Evolution with them.
"Hm! Didn't expect you guys to come asking around about it so soon. Though when I heard about that other young lady using a strange mega evolution in the Lavender Town incident, I suspected it wouldn't be too much longer before someone came to me about it. I'm just a little surprised that it was you two first, and not Lia." She smiles, shrugging. "Well, I guess you can just tell her all about it if you see her again before I do."
After everyone is comfortable in the break room, and snacks have been handed out to those who want them, Alesiandra begins.
"Right. You already know enough about Mega Evolution to know that there are two pieces you need: a Key Stone and a Mega Stone. Key Stones are usually reserved for extremely skilled trainers with at least 3 badges. However, at their discretion, a Gym Leader or Elite Four member may grant or withhold this item from certain trainers. Now for the stuff you may not know: Mega Evolution is a very powerful tool that can't be utilized by everyone. It requires a tremendous amount of energy from the Pokemon, as well as a strong will in order to control the new power that mega evolution grants them."
She pauses a moment to let this sink in.
"What this means is: Just because your Pokemon can Mega Evolve, that doesn't guarantee that they will be strong enough to control their power right away. Some Pokemon who attempt Mega Evolution without the right amount of focus will go berserk as their newfound strength overwhelms them. This is the main reason that Key Stones are so restricted. That being said, I think that you two and your friends are likely to be able to handle it. Even so, I don't actually have Key Stones within the Gym. I have to request they be sent from a secret location only the League and a select few others know about. Not to mention the time needed to manufacture a holder for your Key Stone, such as the traditional Mega Ring (the black bracelet from X/Y), or a Mega Necklace like Champion Lilith uses."

Kaeda clicks her tongue at having to wait more for a keystone to arrive. "If I may, I would love a request for a keystone of my very own. But until then, I will have other important matters at hand." She gets up to leave, stops, and looks at Vince. "Vincent, do you know where I might find a large gathering of fairies?"

After facing the others at the ranch, Floyd heads over to Mt Moon to battle trainers on the mountain side. After a week of mixed success he looks at Telum. "I know you just evolved, but if we ever want to compete with the others we can't rest on our laurels. So let's get nice and high." He says, starting to climb the mountain as Telum floats by his side. Athletics: E3p5|5tD6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Floyd easily climbs the first part of the mountain, tying rope to Telum for extra leverage on the upcoming sheer climbs
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 With Telum's help he easily climbs the overhang, ignoring the faint chill in his fingers.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Floyd continues to climb, ignoring the falling snow thanks to his majestic white cloak.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 As Floyd continues to climb starts to feel light headed, forcing him to pause and rest.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 After a moment he soldiers on, his momentary weakness forgotten
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 After reaching a rest point Floyd pauses to drink some water, cleaning snow and dirt off of Telum before continuing.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Floyd continues to climb, the chill growing worse in his fingers, forcing him to pause and release Ligurio to warm him back up
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 After recalling Ligurio, Floyd and Telum continue up the mountain, working together to climb over another overhang.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Floyd quickly ascends after finding a gentler slope.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Reaching the top of the slope, Floyd grasps a tree only for it to come loose from the dirt, almost making him fall.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 After getting back up, Floyd returns to the top of the slope and climbs a nearby tree to circumvent another sheer climb
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Hopping out of the tree, Floyd has Telum fly a rope up so he can continue climbing
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Telum fails to tie the rope properly due to lacking fingers, leaving Floyd looking foolish.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 This time Floyd ties his knife to the rope, allowing Telum to magnetically control it,
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Floyd easily climbs up the rope.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Floyd dislodges a boulder as he tries to lasso it for a better angle
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Floyd instead has Telum retie the rope and climbs up easily.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Reaching the end of the sheer drops, Floyd jogs up the slope.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Mid jog Floyd is ambushed by an angry Geodude. Telum fends off the rock type easily.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Floyd's ascent is blocked by a Skarmory that saw Telum from above and thought he was another rival. A few missed Zap Cannons send it running
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 The Geodude returns with friends, forcing Floyd to flee
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 Floyd and Telum lose the pursuing pokemon and resume the climb.
Athletics: 6d6+2 Survival: 4d6 The pair reach the summit of Mt Moon.
After spending most of the day climbing Mt Moon, Floyd grins when the reach the top and he gets a clear view of Cerulean City and the nearby Cape. It gets even better when Telum starts to glow, it's magnetic field attuning to that of the mountain and causing evolution. After an hour of relaxation on the mountain, Floyd climbs back down to seek out his friends. 6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6·6d6+2·4d6

Vincent winces as soon as Kaeda mentions fairies. "...Yes, I suppose I do." He admits. "A different world exists inside what is probably a pocket dimension. We just call it the Fairy World, because it's ruled by Fairy-types. You will find lots of Fairy-types there I believe, but getting in is the issue. The portal that allowed my friends to get into the world when I got kidnapped by its Queen has vanished. I think it was opened by a friends Fairy-type, so perhaps that feat can be replicated."
After explaining, Vincent turns to Aleisandra. "I would also love to request having a Keystone prepared for me, if that's at all possible."

Aleisandra nods, stating that she'll prepare the order forms for Key Stones and their holders. It will take about a week to process their request, but this is mainly formality given that Gym Leaders are the ones in charge of giving them to trainers. This timeframe will also include having the item brought to the Cerulean Gym by a League Official. Alei promises to send word when it arrives, and encourages the pair to seek out their Pokemon's Mega Stone in the meantime.

Vincent thanks Aleisandra gratefully. Once he and Kaeda leave the Gym, he turns to her. "So, a warning, the Queen of the Fairy World does not like people who don't belong to her. She is very likely to sic her guards on you and if not that, then you'll likely have to fight her anyway. I think heading there is a good way to find a Mega Stone for Orpheus and Carlin, but I think I'm going to fight the Vermillion Gym first. My Pokemon have gotten pretty strong, and I've seen them give me looks sometimes, as if measuring me a little. I have to prove to them that I'm still worthy of being their Trainer and that takes precedence over making them even stronger."

Kaeda listens to Vince's words of the fairy world. She nods along, and thinks for a moment. Orpheus could probably open up the way to the to the Fairy World. But, Vince's last comments stop Kaeda in her tracks. " I have to prove to them that I'm still worthy of being their Trainer and that takes precedence over making them even stronger." Kaeda bit her lip upon hearing these words. If these last few fights were any proof, it was that she needed some major work herself. She needed to live up to expectations from herself, her pokemon, and her family. She turned to Vince, "Thank you for sharing your information with me. What you just said there. I can relate with it. I need to get stronger as a trainer. Many are relying on me being great. I will also be joining you to challenge the Vermilion Gym, and the Fairy World after that."

Vincent smiles at Kaeda, "I'm sure we can pull of our respective wins. Let's head over to Vermillion then, shall we?" With that he started walking.
Eventually, having taken the quickest possible way, Vincent is standing in front of the Vermillion Gym. He'd also taken the opportunity to make sure his team was set up correctly and trained for the challenge. He walks into the Gym.

As Vincent enters the Vermillion Gym, he's nearly blinded by bright flashes of light. As his eyes adjust, he can see that a battle between some random guy and the Gym Leader is just wrapping up. While Vincent doesn't recognize him, the purple-haired youth looks quite flusteredl; he is bleeding from a split lip and has several cuts along his arms and legs. His Pokemon, a Nidoking, is firing ice beams wildly, trying hard to keep up with the blue and white blurs that are the Gym Leader and her Pokemon. The Leader's Luxray suddenly rebounds off of the arena wall and drives its fangs deep into Nidoking's arm, punching right through the thick armor plates. While Nidoking roars in pain and tries desperately to throw off the electric-type, the Gym Leader rushes in from behind and slashes Nidoking several times across the back, causing it to collapse under the barrage of blows. Her strikes are, quite literally, lightning fast, with each cut from her hook swords digging in a little deeper than the last. Nidoking blacks out, signaling an end to the fight. Scattered across the arena are the challenger's other Pokemon, an Electrode and a Dragonair. Both are unconscious and badly hurt. "Hmph. That was pathetic. I guess my Gym Trainers need to practice harder if someone as weak as you got past them. Your pokemon are rare, and decently powerful, but under your command, they barely even stood a chance. Especially when you got taken down in the first few seconds. Get out of here and go get yourself patched up at the Center. Don't come back until you're strong enough to face me on equal grounds."The fallen challenger quickly recalls his 3 Pokemon and rushes out the door just as quickly as he can limp. The Gym Leader notices you in the doorway, sizing you up. She smirks, but says nothing. Instead, she and her Luxray merely head to the back of the Gym, likely to rest up for their next fight. Chengse-Lan: Gym Leader of Vermillion.

Kaeda takes enters the gym alongside Vince, and looks around. She didn't come here to get beat so easily like the person who just left. She adjusted her clothes a bit, and took a quick breather. "Alright then...Let's get this started."

Vincent raises an eyebrow as the challenger scrambles out of the Gym. He nods to Kaeda and heads over to the reception, undaunted and requests to challenge the Gym.

Unlike at Pewter and Cerulean, Vermillion has no "reception" area. Instead, just a small waiting room with a full view of the gym's below-ground arena. When Vince and Kaeda request to challenge the Gym, the Gym Trainers look them both over and laugh.
"Heh. Alright then. No backing out now though!"
The first Gym trainer points at Kaeda. "You, you're with me. Arena #1. 2 on 2 match. That means a Double Battle, in case you didn't know. Oh, and the name's Briar if you were curious."
This leaves the second trainer, Rena, for Vince to face. She gives him the same match rules as her cohort, though each accept your challenge as individuals, rather than a team.
Despite the Gym Leader's appearance, these Trainers look relatively normal. Briar has short, dark hair with pink tips. Rena is a strawberry blonde with shoulder-length hair.

"2v2 huh? Alright then." This was something a little different, but she had to be confident. She made her way into Arena 1, and took her position. She tosses out 2 pokeballs. Out first is the regal, and towering Serperior, Castor. Out second is a happy little rock who busts out into a jig, Sandman the Roggenrola. "I'm ready!" Can you hear me, guys? Believe in me, and I believe in you. Let's do it!

Lia doesn't feel like she's 'quite' ready to go get zapped into oblivion yet, beating Vincent or no. She plans on normalizing a bit more first. With a day off, She trains in the morning, like normal. She also makes another shopping trip, before releasing Avitus, and she walks up to the Aerodactyl.
"We got an understanding now?"
Avtius seems to smirk a bit, knowing full well his new trainer beat the one who caught him originally. And got to have a second crack at Calypso, which was a nice bonus. He bends down a wing, allowing Lia to hop on. Lia carefully 'boards' Avitus.
"Alright, so I've never really been airborne, so if you could-"
And Avitus blasts into the sky. Lia holds on for dear life for a moment at the sudden acceleration.
"DUDE. WHAT THE HELL."
There's almost a snicker escaping Avitus' mouth as he flies up in the air. Lia directs him back toward Route 1. She basically blew through it the first time, and mostly avoided looking for any pokemon. If there would be some normal types, that'd be the place to look. She has Avitus fly by as she scans.
[Pokemon Encounter, Lia is specifically looking for normal types if that is allowed. Looking for stuff she's added to her wishlist just recently first, but anything that catches her eye she'll stop for.

Two days after his defeat, Vincent returns to the Vermillion Gym. He walks in and asks to battle the Gym Leader again.
