"I'm right here, Floyd. I've given my plans for the day and I'm hearing the rest of you out to see what each of you will be doing as well."

Hopefully fighting you heh heh.
"Oh I'll just be training, waiting on you two to beat her. There's the ranch as well, but it's not gonna take that long."

"That's it, I'm impatient. Come on Floyd lets go do this. Maxine probably has some training to do before she heads to the Gym, and we don't need Vincent there unless he wants to come."
Before he has a chance to object, Lia grabs him by the arm, and forces him to walk behind her. She had already looked up exactly where to go, thinking she was going to do it by herself in the first place. Scier holds for a moment, before finally following, throwing Vincent and Maxine a shrug before she does.

You make it to the Office of Pokemon Ranch Ownership and head on inside. After an hour or two of filling out paperwork, you are now the proud owner of your very own Pokemon Ranch!
At this time, all involved parties must pay their share of the requisite fees. You may also elect to hire on your first worker(s) for 1500/worker. If you choose not to do this, you are given a single worker to take care of the place temporarily until you hire an official worker. This person will become your first official worker when hired.

Vincent watches the pair leave with some amusement. He shrugs right back at Scier before the Pokemon leaves too. He turns to Maxine. "Well, I'm probably going to find some Trainers to fight too and I might catch a Pokemon or two while I'm at it," he says. "I suppose I'll take my leave too."With that, Vincent gave Maxine a friendly nod and went about his business, looking for a Trainer to fight. Trainer Roll: KfmfzeZ11d35 1d35

Maxine finds a Trainer who claims to be collecting the Starter Pokemon. They are willing to trade a Male Hasty Aipom or a Female Quirky Zigzagoon for the Grotle. (Level will be the same as Grotle)

In addition to her small contribution to the ranch, she also goes ahead and hires the first retainer to take care of the place. Once all the paperwork is finalized and the location selected, she'll have her 'boxed' pokemon sent there instead of the dojo ranch.
One headache taken care of...
"Well that's that. I assume we'll all talk about a name when we are together again. But if your fishing for idea's, I'd go with 'Team Lia's Kick-Ass Ranch'. But we can discuss that later. For now I got to go start my new job. And I suppose I'll cya there. You'll get her, I know it."
With that Lia heads off toward the Gym.

(Level will be the same as Grotle) Maxine electronically transfers $500 to Lia to help pay for the Ranch and then meets the Trainer who is collecting the Starters. She decides on the Aipom and trades Grotle to the Trainer, wishing him luck with obtaining all of the Starters. "All right! Something from my Wishlist!" she says. After that, she heads out and begins looking around town for a very particular Berry - a Kelpsy Berry.

"Well that's just silly." Floyd says as Lia leaves. He shakes his head and follows her. "You're going to the same place. And now I can't think of a better ranch name." He arrives at the gym and turns to the receptionist. "I'm hear to challenge the gym leader again."

There are no stores in Cerulean that sell tier 3 berries, though Saffron and Celadon have them. However, there are wandering traders that you can buy stuff from at 1.5x cost. This would make a Tier 3 berry such as Kelpsy 750 PYen for one. Alternatively, you could try your luck at a Survival skill check with a DC of 7 to try and find any berry tree (which has a very small chance to be the exact one you want) or a DC 10 to specifically hunt for Kelpsy trees.

"Like one of them brain virus things."
Lia smiles as she sees Floyd following.
"Ready for her off the bat, are we? Kick-ass."
She waits off to the side for Floyd to talk to the receptionist. She was excited to start her trainer job, but she'd be there all day, and she couldn't challenge Floyd cause he already did 'that' part.

He arrives at the gym and turns to the receptionist. "I'm hear to challenge the gym leader again." The receptionist at the Cerulean Gym just tiredly nods her head, motioning for you to head on back through the usual door. Lia, on the other hand, gets to go through the door behind the receptionist's desk. The one marked "Gym Personnel only".

Lia walks behind the desk and sees her fellow Gym Trainers hanging out in the lounge area in regular clothes just chatting.

Lia walks up and waves at the ones she recognizes and the ones that she doesn't.
"Yo. Am I early?"

Amanda: "Nah. Not really. Aleisandra is already in her office getting all the paperwork and stuff done. Who knew running a Gym required so much extra stuff? Speaking of, though, she wanted to see you soon as you got in. Wants to run through the basics of being a Gym Trainer with you or something."

...or something.
"Oh shoot, where is her office then?"
Having it quickly pointed out, Lia heads for the office door, giving it a knock.

"Enter."
When you open the door, Aleisandra looks up.
"Ah, Lia! Good to see you. So first things first: I have a series of questions for you. Firstly, 'How many Water-Type Pokemon do you own?' Second, 'What do you believe the duties of a Gym Trainer are/should be?'"

Lia walks in.
"Howdy boss. Uh, for the first, it's three. You saw one, my lovely lady friend Los. The other two are fresh captures. One's a Staryu, and the other is a Froakie."
She thinks on the second one for a long moment.
"Well I suppose 'being the best Water trainer' would be counter-intuitive, wouldn't it? Aspiring trainers gotta come in, and think that 'you', boss-lady, are the best in and with the water around here. Cause ya are. Otherwise you wouldn't be here, right?A trainer should provide as a 'You must be this good to ride' sorta-"
Lia's eyes go wide and she blushes a bit when she realized what she said.
"Oh, oops! Let's ah, reword that so it doesn't sound so bad. *ahem* Gym trainers should be a test for people coming by. Like: 'Hey here are some waters you might face. Are you ready with type advantages or resistance? You ready to have those types countered by odd moves you didn't expect?' I guess I'm rambling a bit now, but it should be a bar. Beat the trainer, and you can possibly beat the leader."

"Staryu and Froakie, in addition to your Carvanha? Excellent choices, all. You say that Froakie and Staryu are 'fresh captures'. Does that mean you haven't used them yet?"
Aleisandra merely smiles at your remark.
"Very perceptive, Lia. Yes, Gym Trainers are meant to be a challenge to prove you can handle facing the Gym Leader. If you cannot even defeat the Gym Trainers, then how can you hope to stand a chance against the Leader? Next Question: Given your current experiences, how well do you adapt to new situations? For example: You are facing a challenger for the Gym. The Pokemon you have seen them use has a type disadvantage, yet they somehow weather your best attacks with ease. What will you do?
Additional question: Do you believe you have faced my strongest owned Pokemon?"

"Uh no I haven't used them yet. Caught em the day I faced you. Haven't really had a chance outside of a little normal training this morning."
Lia looks to be using her thought pan really well on the next two questions.
"Uh shoot. Personally? I'd switch to statuses, if possible. Something can be weak to a type but be armored as all get out. Confusion probably all I really have access to at the moment myself. Maybe some attacks that ignore defenses, but the only one I got for that is Scier here and she ain't really of blue team. And, I think you've gotta be craftier than you let on. You gotta have something hidden in wait for some uber-powered trainer to waltz through so you can wreck em."
