Aleisandra smiles at your "something hidden in wait to wreck uber-trainers".
"You may have defeated me and earned your badge already, but how would you like to try your luck against one of my elite team? Consider it your first battle as a Gym Trainer, if you like."

"As much as I think I should say no, I can't find any piece of me willing to commit to a no. So your ON, boss. If we are going to do this for me as a Gym Trainer, should I be using my water-only limitation?"

"Not this time, no. You are free to use all 6 of your Pokemon vs one of my best. I wonder if you can even beat his defenses..."
With this, Aleisandra takes you to a special arena hidden below the Gym. She walks over to some sort of console and presses a few buttons. Out of the large pool, a shadow begins to rise. When it breaches the surface, you see a truly massive (in comparison to you) Blastoise climbing out of the water.
"This, is 'Valuk'. The very first Pokemon I ever obtained. He's been with me for almost my entire life, and as such, we share a very special bond."
At this time, you see Aleisandra affixing a barrette of some kind into her hair. The lights from the arena glint off of it, causing it to briefly shine with a rainbow hue.

There are wandering traders that you can buy stuff from at 1.5x cost. This would make a Tier 3 berry such as Kelpsy 750 PYen for one. Alternatively, you could try your luck at a Survival skill check with a DC of 7 to try and find any berry tree (which has a very small chance to be the exact one you want) or a DC 10 to specifically hunt for Kelpsy trees. Maxine tries to find, specifically, a Kelpsy Berry tree: efD5MiAy2d6+1 vs DC 10 Maxine tries to find any Berry tree: 2d6+1 vs DC 7 2d6+1·2d6+1

Finding the Wepear Berry was nice, but definitely not as helpful as the Kelpsy would have been. Maxine sighs and decides to bite the bullet and pay the inflated price to a traveling trader. After finally obtaining the Berry, she feeds it to Remoraid, lowering its Attack Stat by 1, then she is finally able to look for Trainers. She begins her search on Route 24.

Thoroughly disheartened and defeated, Floyd leaves the gym behind. After healing up he gives the ranch the temporary name of Greystone Estate and deposits funds to hire a smith if one was in the area before switching up his team and seeking out a new opponent.

Freshly healed from her battle. Maxine heads back out, looking for another Trainer. This time she heads all the way up to Route 25 to go ahead and also search the area for possible dropped items.

After his victory and subsequent 'invitation', Vincent wandered back into the city's Pokemon Center. He quietly asked for his Pokemon to be healed and once that was done, he sat down in the cafeteria with a drink, mulling over what he should do. He takes a sip. Hmm, what should I do. I suppose the priority is letting the others know that something is going on. With this in mind, he typed out a text on his Pokedex.
"Hi, I've encountered a problem. A friend of mine, Dan the Bug Catcher, has apparently been kidnapped, and the kidnapper invited me to visit her, implying that I would otherwise not ever see him again. She said I should come alone or 'there will be problems.' I'm currently unsure whether to comply or ask for your help. On one hand I feel like it'd be stupid to go there alone, that's asking to get kidnapped, but on the other hand, if I don't go there alone, what will happen to Dan? Would he be killed? And what if I just make things even more dangerous by bringing along other people? I think it might be best if I went alone. I rambled a bit there, sorry. Anyway, that's what's going on right now. I'm going to go to the woods on Route 25, if I don't come back with Dan, get a search party together or something. At that point you can't make things worse by bringing more people."
Vincent sent this to his friends, finished his drink and made his way towards Route 25. He headed into the woods as soon as he was there.

Within minutes of entering the wooded area of Route 25, Vincent began to feel like the forest was closing in around him. Almost boxing him in. Looking back, however, he can still see light from where he entered. Nothing has changed save for that unnerving feeling. Shortly thereafter, he begins to feel a pull of sorts. Something inside of him is urging him onward.
(Make a DC 8 Intuition to realize this is not "natural", per se.)
Spurred onward by the thought of rescuing his friend, Dan, Vincent pushes further into the forested wilderness. After what seems like hours (though it has only been 10 minutes, according to the Pokedex's clock), the area begins to grow eerily quiet. Previously, there had been some obvious noises from things such as insects, birds, Wilds. The usual fare. Now though, it seemed to be... still. Almost like everything was suddenly asleep or frightened into silence.
(DC 10 Perception allows you to hear faint, rustling movement in the undergrowth. DC 12 will allow you to notice that you are being followed.)

With one win and one loss, Maxine decides to head back to town, heal her team, and then look for wild Pokémon instead of any more Trainers. Her Pokédex set to silent, she isn't even aware of the urgent message that is currently on it.

Floyd returns to the pokemon centre in the evening, another mostly satisfying day complete. He looks around for the others, wondering how their days went.

The day ends with Vincent nowhere to be found. Checking your respective Pokedexes, you discover he went off into the woods on Route 25 alone to rescue his friend Bug Catcher Dan (whom Lia met the other day). By his own words, he wishes for you to get extra help and go to rescue him if he has not yet returned.
Maxine eventually finishes her battle with a Wild Pokemon on Route 24, returning late in the night. Lia and Floyd fill her in, prompting her to discover the same message on her own 'Dex in the party's group chat. Maxine is quite eager to help out a friend, and wants to head out first thing in the morning.

Lia finishes up the day at the gym, not really facing anyone else, but socalizing and getting to know the other gym members. She tends to stick around Nathan and Missy. Eventually, they are all sent home for the day and she heads to the center, dead tired and slightly pruned. --Next Day-- Lia wakes up early, as usual, and gives all her pokemon and herself the usual training. For some reason she's feeling upping her defenses toward the more 'magical' for some reason. She just has a feeling. Brutal Training on Everybody
XP training on Skala, Scier, Flare
New team lineup:
Scier, Los, Flare, Jazda, Wrona, Kwarc
Lia Athlete Trains Attack and Special Defense When she's done, her pokedex falls out of her pocket, displaying a message. She reads it, blushing a little considering she just left an unanswered text on her dex for so long... Until she reads it. "ARCEUS DAMN IT VINCENT YOU STUPID-"She storms back into the center to find Floyd and Maxine, not caring who she barrels over. Vincent just did something REALLY dumb yesterday, and Lia now feels extra dumb for missing the message. It's been over a half a day at this point. She manages to find her two friends and they elaborate about getting the same text late. "We all caught up? Good. I'm going to save his and Dan's asses, if you two are coming or not. So you better keep up."Without much of a plan being made, Lia runs off toward where Vincent said he was heading, hoping to pick up a trail. Scier is floating behind as usual, but very concerned about if this is really a good idea or not after the last times they've faced head to head to something malicious and evil.

An unknown amount of time later...Vincent finally begins to awaken. His head feels fuzzy, and overall he's still exhausted. Looking around, he finds himself in a very strange place. It's not the forest, but.. a bedroom? It's a very nice one too, though the color scheme isn't his preferred 'dark and broody' colors. Instead, they are pastel pinks and whites; generally bright colors. A cursory examination of the well-furbished room reveals his Poke Ball belt (with all units still on it), and his bag on a nearby chair. The clothes he recalls wearing last are on the foot of the bed, and he is instead wearing something more matching to the surroundings, if somewhat paler and less bright/girly.
Vincent's current outfit consists of a nice dress shirt and pants, colored in a somewhat dull, muted white/pink/blue combination. Nothing else of interest is within this room, nor does there appear to be anything preventing his departure from it.

Where the hell did I end up? Vincent wonders in confusion. Oh... this is probably that kidnappers's place. He gets up and takes his Poke Ball belt and bag from the chair. I can change back later, or just wear a fresh set of clothes. Gotta have priorities right? He thinks. These clothes aren't too bad either, they're basically what I used to wear.
Let's get out of here, is the final thought that rings through Vincent's mind, as he leaves the room, not finding anything that would stop him from doing so.

Lia rushes out of the Pokemon Center, making a beeline for Route 25's forested area, where Vince's message said he was headed last, and leaving a dumbfounded Floyd and Maxine in her wake. After only a moment's deliberation, Floyd heads off after her. Maxine decides to make an attempt at getting the Gym Leader or someone else of authority involved. Alas that the Gym is closed today, and the Leader is unreachable at this time. Instead, Maxine must try to convince the Cerulean Police Department of the seriousness of the situation. She messages Lia and Floyd to inform them of her course of action, citing that 'it is what Vince wanted in the first place, according to his message'.
Lia is in far too much of a rush to answer this message, but a slightly more reserved Floyd manages to get in a quick acknowledgement in before having to hurry to catch up to Lia. The two of them reach the outskirts of the forest and stop to catch their breath, having run almost the entire way there; a journey of several miles. They now have two choices, stop and think things through, or blunder headfirst into whatever dangers may have befallen poor Vincent. After only a few minutes rest, Lia charges forth once again, forcing Floyd to keep up or be left behind. As it is still early morning, there are not a lot of Wild Pokemon that are active on the outskirts.
Perception checks from both parties. No set DC, just a "general observation" check.
