There's a mixture of disorientation, confusion, and general orneriness from the pig. This isn't its stomping grounds... the ground's all wrong. And where is everything? It doesn't recognize this. A giant tree stump? Hmph. Gonna need to knock it down.
...well, that's not good. The pig seems intent on trying to slam into the metal outbuilding, and being both more angry and more confused about why it's not yielding. It's going to win this fight!

"It's stronger then I am. You can't knock everything down. Hero, Oops and I were stronger than you were, but that is not as strong as you could be. It's a... a sort of nest. A very, very sturdy nest. It won't hurt you. Just like the trees didn't on your old island. Just relax..." Parish tries to bring the Pokemon around.

Telling the pig to relax seems to do the opposite of causing it to relax, as it continues to try and bang its head against the wall as though trying to prove it could, and screw parish for doubting! ...but all it ends up doing is creating a bit of a dent in the wall, and an exhausted pig, who flops down on the beach, lights guttering and breath heavy.

Parish has a seat beside it and gently rests a hand over Falling Star's belly. Working some sand along the coarse fur and rough hide, he doesn't offer anymore words. A comforting presence. "If you want to be hemmed in by water forever, I can take you back to your island. Or we can go further and further. I'm not going to stop adventuring. Doesn't seem like you will let much stop you either."

There's a brief pang of irritation at the presence of someone else - why are they still here??? - but it subsides some. The potential to run without water. To not be limited to a small stomping ground, it seems tantalizing…
But it comes with others, too... others, liming its freedom, and running. Trying to stop it from doing things. Why should it listen?

"Others that can get you past vast bodies of water, or other obstacles that would be unpleasant. Others that will keep your colors from being stripped away, and keep you safe when you can endure no more.". Parish explained as best he could with every respect for the go this Pokemon had.

Hmph. It's a similar feeling to the one Oops gets when pouting. Resignation, but not particularly liking whatever it is. In this case, Parish definitely gets the feeling that he may need to keep an eye on the boar to make sure it doesn't cause any problems. Because it bows to no one! ...this is just a temporary setback.

"If you ever find a place you are sure you want to claim as your own, you can tell me and I will do my best to help you. For now though, I need to head home. We'll talk again soon.". Recalling Falling Star, he considers the damage to the portal building. "He is going to be a hand full."
With a shake of his head, Parish made his way inside of the building at last.

Thankfully it's mostly just a dent... but definitely a noticeable one.
Entering the cool, climate-controlled building and striding through the portal to the room on the other side sees Parish face-to-face with Captain Armstrong. "Ah, welcome back, Trainee LaBrasta. I think that's the full lot of you. Do you need to take a bit of a food break or change clothes before we reconvene to discuss what you all found?"

"I'm fine as I am sir. I ate a few hours back, and presenting without the smell of seawater with some floral and woody notes would do the journey a disrespect.". Parish smiled dreamily and made for the gathering area to share his findings when the remainder assembled.

Judging by the fact that none of the other trainees had adaptations remaining, it's clear that they've all been back since the previous day. There definitely seem to be a couple pointed looks in his direction from Mason and Erica, looking a little impatient. The other two don't really seem to care much.
"So, now that we're all assembled," the captain says, after walking in with Rebecca, "Who wants to tell us about the realm? Just... your own experiences. Ah, yes, Trainee Perry?"
"Lots of water," Erica says, dryly, having raised her hand to volunteer. "Water, and some fish, and a few trees. It all just felt... flat, really. Not a whole lot there."
"There was really nothing to even see when climbing a tree. No mountains, or anything interesting," Mason adds. "Just... glowing everything."

"The Pokemon and foliage on the surface put a lot of emphasis on color displays as do Pokemon in the first two strata of the ocean. Possibly a property of the sun's light here. After dusk, creatures smaller than the eye can see in the water shed colored light to a depth of a hundred feet or so. It is definitely alive somehow, as they react to being agitated. Beyond that depth, light doesn't reach and the water temperature begins to fall. Most of the predators will be at that depth and lower, the first and only one I encountered was nearly as big as I am."
Parish expressed as best he could and considered anything he might have missed. "Large land Pokemon are few and far between, as are proper trees. Territorialism remains as a behavior despite limited landmass."

"Anything on land is really few and far between," Faith says, adding to Parish. "Didn't really notice any birds. There were a handful of small fairies flitting around, tending to the flowers... but they scattered whenever we were near."
"Didn't help that Sir and Lady Noise-a-lot over there," Shane says, wryly, gesturing to Mason and Erica, "were scaring everything off with their bickering on which way to go."
"I didn't hear you helping!"
"It was a forest! And we all knew the direction we needed to go! It's not like it mattered."
"I still say we should have just kept swimming around. It would have been way easier."
"But not shorter!"
"...okay, that's enough. Anything else more productive that people'd like to add?"

"I was really confused why the sandy shallow areas were extremely sparse, as we're a number of the islands.". Parish volunteered. "There was almost no life until reaching the main water column. Back home there would have been krabby and staryu. Maybe the odd jellyfish, but aside from a shellfish or two there was nothing. I caught one Pokemon in the deep dark waters, one hiding on the forested island, and another that was pretty riled when I got there. A large pig of some kind, one of two aggressive Pokemon in the dimension I encountered."

"Don't always make assumptions of what you'll see based on home," Rebecca says, speaking for the first time. "There is so much diversity out there. I've seen worlds where there is no water, and fish swam through the skies. So, while some are close… very few will match exactly unless it's a near-parallel." She looks a little awkward as she finishes speaking, busying herself in cleaning her glasses with a small "...sorry."
"No, no, you're good," Armstrong says. "I wouldn't have you here if I didn't want you to comment. You've seen a lot, after all. It's a lot better that they don't just have me as a reference."
"Anyways, I should probably address the little gift from me that I promised. So... Trainee LaBrasta, you embodied the qualities that I wanted to see here. Taking some time, just... experiencing the world. Not trying to make it in and out, and only seeing what you saw on the way. That's a good way to overlook dangers and wonders, after all. So, come see me in my office once you're all dried off and everything. Dismissed for now, everyone."
"See, I told you your idea was bad, we'd just have seen more ocean!" Mason says, sniping at Erica.
"Well, it's not like you looked at anything in the forest anyways!" the girl snaps back.
Faith just gives an exasperated expression.

"Well... Did you enjoy yourselves?". Parish asked genuinely when there was a pause in the bickering. "That is the most important part.". He started for the changing room to get dried off and cleaned up, and paused by the door, turning to Rebecca. "Flying fish sound really cool... I hope I get to see that someday. Not that glowing fish weren't impressive in their own right. Thanks for that Rebecca, I will make sure to remember it. The lesson and the fish out of water.". With that, he went about getting changed out of his survival gear and into his standard uniform.

"It was boring," Mason says. "It was just trees, and water, and sand. Nothing really special. So the water glowed. Big whoop. I guess that kind of stuff might be interesting to you..."
"No worries..." Rebecca says, seeming to quickly evict herself from the griping, too.
After getting changed, and back in Armstrong's office, the Captain gestures for Parish to sit down across from him at his desk. "So... how was it out there the last few days? Exhilarating?"

Parish takes the seat as instructed and folded his hands in his lap. "Well, it was a lot of things. It made me eager to know the how's and why's as I went along. I never did get to touch the seafloor, but I might not have made it that far if I went for it, especially not glowing. Not my best choice.". He laughed and settled.
"Harrowing, exciting, breathtaking, inspiring. I made new friends and lived a new life through them. Yeah... I guess exhilarating sums it up pretty well."

"Well! That's wonderful. And, hey, you made it out alive and unharmed," he says, laughing. "That's what matters, right?"
"So, prize," he reaches into a drawer in his desk, and tosses puts five pure white spheres in front of Parish. "There we go, five premier balls. A perfectly fine prize, that you can talk about and nobody can complain about," he says winking. "In unrelated news, and strictly off the record, I'd like you to come accompany me during my own exploration tomorrow. If you're up for it. The preliminary probe shows that it looks like a giant cave system. So that seems cool."

"I would like that sir, but is the cave system on this gamma dimension, or on another entirely?". Parish's eyes lit up. Captain Armstrong wanted him to tag along for something new. "You really want me along? Even if I chew sand, or talk to myself?". Pink lit his cheeks, and red his ears. Mason's words still stung.
