"There is a farm that raised Mareep to the north, they are fluffy and yellow, and have a round ball at the end of their tails.". Jasmine explained as the final preparation to brave the rains again were made. The lighthouse cast its beam long and wide.
Inside was dry if cold at the bottom. Climbing the stairs and a ladder to the top, it was warmer once they were finally in the housing area for the two Pokemon.
"It'll be Sirius on duty right now.". Jasmine gestures to the Pokemon standing in a highly reflective center booth.

The rains are just as miserable as before... but it's for a good purpose, at least. Reaching the lighthouse... "Hah... it feels a lot taller climbing it than it looks like from the outside," he says, laughing. Straight up is not how he's used to things. Makes full use of long limbs, though.

"You are to make a meal in the morning at shift change and again at night. Hot meals will help them stave off the cold. Bathe and groom them both, after they have eaten. Ensure that the heaters up here are functioning properly, and that the glass panelling is intact and undamaged.". Jasmine gestures to the clear walls that rattle with the howl of the winds.
"Midday leave a snack for them, and check their bedding. If it needs to be changed, the heat goes out, or anything that requires my attention, be sure to let me know immediately."

"Amphy prefers dry textures but doesn't really have a flavor preference, and Sirius likes sour the best.". Jasmine stated with certainty, as she guided Thel around to their eating and resting areas. The Pokemon lighting the tower gives him a wave and a little bray. "Letting them eat their fill would be best right now. We are demanding a lot, Amphy can't afford to lose any weight with her health either."

He waves back to the Pokémon, with a smile. "Alright, was more just trying to scope out how large I should make the portions. That's always a problem with trying to feed a new Pokémon, you never know how much they eat." He laughs. "And I don't want to run out before they're full."
"I've never seen Pokémon like this before. They're very impressive. Almost as bright as the sun, it feels!"

"I'll make sure to have the kitchenette in the gym well stocked. I suspect if you see trouble, it will be as the week wears on. A few days of the extra shift is bound to start fatiguing them, but as the day alternates, they get a day to rest between their second shift.". Jasmine took a knee and gently rubbed at the resting Sirius' ears.

It gets up at its own leisure, standing nearly as tall as Thel. Dark, but expressive eyes take him in. After it quietly sizes the boy up, the Pokemon helps itself to some food and water, snacks left out from earlier, and climbs back into the straw nest.

He looks confused at the outstretched hand. He remembers shaking hands being a greeting, with different rules on rank and visitors and whatever for who's expected to initiate it in formal settings. But this isn't a greeting, so, "Ah, sorry, why are you moving to greet me?" he asks. Better to do so while he's in the presence of someone who could give answers.

Jasmine laughed a little. "Handshakes are also used as a gesture to announce when something has been agreed upon. A deal, a bargain, a promise. Your handshake will tell a lot about you as a person... Here, I'll show you.". She took Thel's hand in hers and gave it a very loose shake with a weak grip. The girl then followed it with a much firmer and more confident one.

Repeating the light handshake once more. "This shows I don't really care about this so much. I am uninvested and just want to be done with our deal. It is a nonverbal gesture that denotes certain things about your character. You never want to hold so strongly you hurt someone."

"I see..." Thel says, thoughtfully. "There's a lot that I don't understand, about the world. Every time I learn something, it's a peek into a whole different world of things I'd never imagined. I don't know how you all know all this stuff, really." He laughs. "I guess just slowly learning it."
He does his best with the handshake, trying to show some pressure, but also really worried about hurting. He still doesn't know exactly how much the human body can take. Some parts still feel so long and fragile, like they'll snap off.
