"O...oh.". Patience's expression fell a little at that. A hand lightly settled into Serenity's flank. There was a slight twitch, but the Pokemon didn't rise. "I promise I'd never get any web on your pretty fur or try to eat you. We're friends now."
The Ninetails' tails flicked about with mild agitation, and her breathing sped up but she still didn't rise. "I've trusted you with my everything... I know you aren't really scared of me.". There was a whine from the vulpine, and a little lick against Patience's cheek.

"We're always going to be here for you," Thel says, quietly, holding the Ninetales close. "Because that's what friends do. If you need time, or support, or anything. We'll still be here. And we understand." He closes his eyes. "Because many of us also have our own traumas to deal with."
He just sits there, trying to comfort Serenity for as long as she needs it.

The day wearing on into evening, supper comes and goes. Jasmine makes her way into the caves to release the Pokemon she had along for the day, dressed in something loose and flannel, moving along the cave in house slippers. Serenity had long since fallen asleep now, and Patience has been talking to the Carbink about her fingernails. She is so proud of them still.
"Managing to unwind alright after the pressures of the day Thel?". Jasmine inquires. "There's been word back from Professor Oak's office in Kanto. They have reached a specialist in an island chain region called "Alola." A science foundation there, known as Aether deals in rescues and rehabilitation of Pokemon. They have dealt with similar abuse in the past and are willing to send someone out to look into Patience's condition."

Alola, Alola… "Alola, that's the place where Salandit come from, right?" he asks. That's what they'd said, at least. "They're... willing to come out here all this way? Really? I... I don't know what to say." It just seems... so much. "T-thank you. They... might be able to... fix her? What those people did?" It seemed like such an errant hope just the prior day. And yet... so many people were willing to try and help now.

From what we understand, she is primarily their public face, but is knowledgeable enough to make an assessment. The plan is for her to arrive early next week. She is very interested in this Pokemon evolved beyond Pokemon business."

"Perhaps not but the weather system despite its intensity doesn't extend far beyond the borders of Johto yet. Kyogre otherwise engaged, its mastery of the sea can't be brought fully to bear. There has been heavy rains reported in Lavender Town, as the nearest us, but no further as of yet. I am sure she will see to every precaution along the way. Their facility actually sits on the ocean, so it is likely they know a bit about weathering storms."

"To start off, there was Gold, and Lance rescuing us. Then the Nurse in Ecruteak giving us clothes and stuff, Morty helping us and getting us identification, the kimono girls there teaching us and giving Em a job, Courtney for housing me and helping keep me safe and calm after I was all alone, Whitney for teaching me about the Charm School and helping accompany me here and join it, and you for... everything, and the professors, and the nurse here, and everyone coming in to help..." He finishes listing stuff off his fingers, having had to stop to breathe a few times in the list.
"It's just... such an incredibly long list, and I know I've missed several. ...and that's not even getting in the way that my own friends have helped me." He laughs. "But, the point is... it's a lot. And it means the world to me."
"Ah, right, badges..." Thel says, sighing. "I... really only did the Gyms because that's what Morty and Gold said was a good idea. To help us find out who we are and our place. And... it definitely helped. I met my friends, and was able to end up coming here. I have a better idea of who I am. But... I never really liked doing the gyms," he admits. "I don't like fighting. My Pokémon get hurt, and I got the accolades. They were working harder than me, and... it was all for what? A little trinket? I know that they're willing to fight for me, but... it still doesn't feel right."
"I know the badge means a lot to the girls at the school... but it's okay. I don't need it. Certainly don't feel like it's something I'd have earned... I would have done any of this anyways."

"I treat my friends as I would want to be treated in their places. That's all. I... can't expect them to go through anything that I wouldn't do myself."
He pauses a little awkwardly at Jasmine's request. "It's... it's okay. You've been worrying about so much, lately. I wouldn't want to put anything more on you." He's already bothered people so much for help, it feels awkward to keep doing it.

Jasmine explains as she starts upstairs. "With all the duties citywide, tending the Pokemon that keep the lighthouse operational has been something I won't be able to keep up with. There are two Ampharos that live there. I will need them checked on three times a day. Once in the morning, once during your lunch period, and once before bed."

"They work in rotating eight hour shifts, Amphy starts at 7 am, and Sirius at 3 pm, then Amphy at 11 again. They have a place to stow food should they need it, and have access to as much water as they need. Normally they would only be active overnight, but with the weather bad we had to add extra shifts... Another Ampharos could resolve it, but they aren't easy to find or train..."
