“Got it. Stain upon the world, if it kills me in a dream, I die in real life. Inception or something ” Muku accepts. She wouldn’t waste any more time taunting the beast; if it wanted to kill her, it’d have to chase her down first.
“Monolith, to me! We’ve got places to go!” She shouts into the air, deftly moving to the nearest to tree to get herself clear of the beast.

On grand wings, Xatu safely away and Talon silently astride Muku's back, they took to the air. It followed on clear wings too small for its bulk, as far as the ocean. Though it was fast, Monolith was faster.
They again flew across seas, and now through starry voids where spaces unexplored and unremembered did not exist. To the northeast, another blotch on the world, this one a seeming sun unto itself, fading ribbons of color radiating outward from it. The forests near Olivine bore a brilliance that defied the senses, piercing whatever semblance of life remained in this place.

Muku felt no pity for the wretched, winged thing that flew on muscles alone. Quick it was, but nothing could match Monolith for speed in the air. Well. Maybe Muku could have, if she still had wings. And if those wings were bigger. And if she hadn’t been eaten by an owl.
There were many more contingencies there than she felt comfortable exploring.
Mid-flight, there was a brief moment she regretted not luring the beast to the beast to the nearby Pokémon Center. Perhaps then she could have proven her point most triumphantly. However, regret soon manifested in an entirely surprising manner; the regret of even having had that thought at all.
Yes, the nurse had behaved badly towards her. But the nurse's actions didn’t warrant that level of retribution. In fact… Well. Her thoughts were clearer now in this strange place. She had been mentioning something about Talon feeding on her? Maybe, just maybe she occasionally felt a bit off ever since-
Her reverie is interrupted as her attention is drawn back outwards. Olivine, or what she assumed was Olivine, was a mess of piercing light and all together feeling of the unnatural. Maybe related to the weird bug thing? She certainly didn’t enough to know.
Well. She could change that.
“Take me by there; into a glide. Three passes. I want to get a closer look at this weird stuff.” Muku requests.

Low over the woods Monolith flew, but only once before banking sharply and letting out a screech as though something might have done him harm. He disappeared into his ball, leaving Muku to float slowly towards the ground, and that light.
A man in a red outfit with a leonine beard seemed to be emitting this light. He scanned the sky, there was a sweep of his arm. His mouth moved but no sound left it. He paced slowly towards a gray frame husk of some kind of machine, red eyes bored into Muku from within. A bird of unsettling blacks and flaming reds, caged. The human's light could not, or would not touch it.

Floating down from the sky, Muku curses her lack of tactile decision making. Searching for the sources or strange anomalies was not her job. This may all be a dream, but she was beginning to suspect that it was not her dream. Indeed. One wrong step, and she would quickly find herself in someone else's nightmare.
Maybe it was already too late. The eyes of the end were already upon her. They saw her now. They had her scent. There is no escape.
No, no. She could not, would not give way to that kind of panic. Muku didn't have a death wish, she had a life wish. She wished to live because her job wasn't done yet. There had to be some kind of meaning to it all, something beyond dying ignobly in the dankest confines of another madman's dreams. Her head hurt. She let it hurt. Red eyes bore into Muku, so Muku stares back. Then she dares to speak.
"Hey. I know this probably sucks right now, but I think somebody I know is coming to help. So hold in there, alright?"

Though its presence, posture, very gaze spoke of finality, Muku's words seemed to offer some small comfort. Those burning eyes slid to the man in red, and a ripple of palpable hatred rolled along the ground and through the trees.
"The world marches on. Your friends playing their roles in it too.". Xatu commented, free again from his ball, though he did not seem to come under attack as Monolith had.

"Yeah. I know." Muku whispers quietly. "I wish I could go over and throttle that dude myself. But Thel might be able to handle this situation in ways that I can't. And besides; he's a bleeding heart. If he knows a Pokemon like this was in danger, he wouldn't hesitate to go rushing in. Not just talking about it or anything, but really getting right in there and just getting right down to the nitty gritty."
Wait. Nitty gritty? Her face turns a slightly flushed shade of ashen. "Actually, I think that's Terra. Thel probably would try to talk this guy to death first. Ah, I'm hoping he doesn't wait too long. Pokemon shouldn't suffer like this. Like we did."
With a huff, she turns towards the direction she had been flying earlier. "Well. I'm not sure what that thing did to Monolith, but I get the feeling he's going to need a break. Let's take a walk. Hopefully the tower isn't that far off."

The first signs of Pokemon began again as they descended the steep forested hillock back down towards the road. Round, purple shiny things with danglies and yellow X's on them. They were friend shaped, the way Mmip was. Wherever she was.
Shadows began to stretch and lurch the closer Muku drew to the tower, which was lit. Not within, pleasant and inviting, rather on fire for the upper two thirds of it. It did not decay, instead stood as a towering beacon to mark their destination. Wandering, furtive shadows darted about just away from its light.
On her back, Talon stirred. His tassle wound around her shoulder. As though to offer some comfort, the sword drew itself into her palm, though there was no violence to be committed in that moment.

Eerie quiet and spooky surroundings were no match against the comfort of a blade in one's palm. It was a reminder that yes, yes Muku, you can protect yourself. That I'm here to keep you safe. That I'm here to help you keep others safe. You need not walk alone in the night, for aside you flashing I shall be; guardian, Talon, and steward in one. She pressed pommel to chest and leaned solemnly before the tower. At once, she dropped to a knee, slowly, not suddenly, and laid there for a time with head bowed. The girl wasn't sure why she was doing this. Only that it felt right, as if trying to show some respect to the specters that made this place home.
If specters were real of course. They weren't real.
The thought, ridiculous as it were, did give her a silent slice of cheer that broke through the vague sense of terror and dread in the place. She got up feeling lighter and moved to enter the building. Hopefully the inhabitants of such a place would be more amenable to her visit this time around.

Into the burning building and down to its lowest level, heedless of what she would find there. Skeletons lay strewn about in half burned states at the bottom. Three in all, large and canid by their look. Along a flat plane in space which always faced Muku, was an open gateway of lavenders, violets, and royal purples. She strode through with purpose, Talon bared.
