Jean-Marie nods, ready to leave. "I agree with Benji, the Pokecenter is probably our best bet for a dry place to stay for the night." She stretches her arms overhead, a little bit sick of sleeping on the road. "Plus, Pyrite seems like a nice town. It seems a shame to come down just to leave so soon."

Orianne nods in agreement to the sentiment of getting back before things get worse. She secures her cloak over her shoulders and pulls the hood up over her head. "Yeah, I think it's best to save the planning for later. Better to all go out now at once, so we can all help out if someone gets into trouble."
She moved to the door and did a second check to make sure everything was tucked away safely before opening it to step outside.

Jasmine looks a bit awkward as Benji holds his Dex up to her. "Uhm... my contacts should be in there already. The professor put both his and my own contact information in all of your Pokédexes."

"Oh, duh!" Benji says, trying not to look embarrassed. "Should have checked that before, shouldn't I? Well, it seems everything is done here then," he smiles to the girl, committing her to memory the same way he did the professor. Turning to the others, he speaks with a smile. "Don't know why you're all so afraid of a little rain, but since everyone's in a hurry..." He adjusts his hoodie, the little yungoos helping make it more comfortable before it sets itself around Benji's neck. "We're good to go!" he exclaimes, moving out with confidence before turning around suddenly. "Does anyone know the way?"[Mechanics] Benji will make a Record of both Jasmine and Professor Elder, paying 2 AP.

Jean-Marie pats her pack, satisfied with her packing job of the new additions. "I think I recall the location of the Pokecenter. I should be able to take us down there." She thanks the professor and his aides before following Ori outside.

"Sounds good, Jeannie," Robin says, pronouncing the nickname like "Johnny" but with a soft "G" at the start.
Robin follows the two out and hoists Rowan back on his shoulder. "Let's see if we can get down the cliff before it turns into a waterslide."

The trip back to town is unpleasant, but uneventful, and after about thirty minutes you five arrive at the Pokécenter. A large, stone brick building, made in a similar style to most houses in Pyrite, but larger, and with a distinctive red roof that sets it apart from most buildings in town. Upon entering, you find the interior to be surprisingly modern, lacking much of the wood and stone that has been common for the buildings around here, replaced by more modern materials for both the floors and walls, lit by bright, clean, white light. To your immediate right and left are a couple of sitting areas, with some pamphlets about the area, Pokémon training, travelling, and general health related things. Just beyond the sitting areas, on both sides of the room, are several standing computers, three on each side. At the back of the room, in the centre, is the nurse's desk, with a middle-aged woman with pink hair, with some grey streaks in it, standing behind it, smiling as you enter. She is currently the only other person in the room. Two doors leading further into the building are located on either side of the desk.
"Welcome to the Pokémon Center. Please do come in, dears, that storm is going to get worse before it gets any better. How can I help you?" the nurse greets you in a bright tone.

Robin takes the centre of the group as he approaches the desk and leans an elbow on it casually. "Well, you don't need to help us by saving our lives after we nearly got killed, so I'm guessing that's a step up from what usually happens when someone comes through those doors." He gives her a cheerful smile as he switches on the charm.
"Fact is, we only came to town recently and just got our trainer's chops from the Professor, so we were hoping to spend the night here. Now, I know you're too busy keeping an eye on things out here to worry about showing a bunch of newbie trainers around, but maybe you've got an assistant or secretary or something who can show us where the rest area is? And maybe the kitchens - no reason I can't whip us all up a little something - whaddaya say?" he finishes, a little proud of the subtle flattery about the nurse's importance he'd worked in there.

"Ah, old Aloysius gave made you official trainers? How lovely. And don't worry dearie, I'd be happy to show you all around. It's not too busy, and with the weather like this it's not too likely that anyone in dire need is going to drop by. I'll just leave Ringabel to mind the reception for a moment, no problem at all." The nurse bustles from behind the counter, releasing a surprisingly casual and relaxed looking Medicham as she does so. The Medicham gives you all a lazy wave before taking place behind the counter, apparently knowing the drill.
Nurse Joy, meanwhile, moves over to the right door, gesturing for you all to follow. "Right this way, dearies, right this way."
She leads you through the doors and into a short hallway, with two other exits, one near the beginning, an open passageway leading into what seems to be a cantina, and a double door at the end of the hall. "Sleeping quarters are at the end of the hall, two dormitories with ten bunks each. No real restrictions to who sleeps where, but try to be mindful of the others. Cantina is over to the right, kitchen is attached to it, you're free to make something for yourselves, and since there isn't anyone else here, feel free to make use of some of the ingredients. There's a small indoors training area attached to the cantina as well, if any of you want to do some training, though please do mind that you keep everything in working order and don't throw out anything too large," she rattles off the information in a straightforward manner, gesturing in the direction of the various locations, before turning back to the group. "Any questions, or are you all good?"

Benji follows the group inside the pokédex, trying not to stare at absolutely everything inside. The machines in the back, the amount of intormation available, the clean environment... Everything is new for Benji and he tries to not look like he's freaking out. The others were walking non-chalantly, so he just copies the behaviour and approaches the desk. Robin is the one to talk, so he just stays quiet and then follows along the small tour the old nurse gives.
"Yeah, just one question," he says, answering the woman. "What are the computers for? Are they free to use as well?" he says, pointing back at the devices in the back. He's never had access to one before and might as well try it now. "Oh, and those pamphlets... Can we take them? There were a lot of them..."

Orianne shook the nasty weather out of her system once they had entered the building. She removed the cloak and called out her feisty Meowth. The cat would not have minded the weather, but she had a tendency to wander off and do her own thing, and Orianne didn't want to slow down the group.
She rolled her eyes and gave a light sigh as Robin laid on his 'charm' a bit too thickly. "No questions from me."
Motioning for Sapphire to follow her toward the kitchen, knowing that keeping her fed went a long way in keeping her out of trouble.

The nurse looks a bit surprised at Benji's questions, but she smiles kindly. "They're free to use, yes. The primary reason we have them is to allow trainers to access their Storage Boxes, though you can do the usual... computer things with them as well. Surf the internet, send mails, that sort of thing. And you're more than free to take some of the pamphlets, as long as you leave some for the other people visiting to take."
She looks at the rest of the group expectantly. "If that is all, I will leave you 5 to it and return to my post."

Jean-Marie thanks the Nurse and turns toward the kitchen to follow Orianne. "Wonderful, I have not had a hot meal in weeks, a warm bed in longer. It is a joy to return to the life of luxury!" She exclaims, stretching her arms above her head. "I will also be training Cheri in the morning if anyone wants to join me. It would be good to get our Pokemon acquainted."

Heh, you and me both, Robin thinks as she follows the two, giving Jean-Marie a smile as she thinks about how long it's been since her last warm bed - not as long as it could have been, but only due to a lot of work and still an uncomfortably long time ago.
Still, she decides to keep that to herself as she nods. "Sounds good - Rowan's pretty simple, but it can't hurt to get an idea of how he fits in." The cherubi on her shoulder gives an affected huff, even if they both know it's performative - there are few things Rowan likes more than catching those who underestimate him by surprise.
Still, Robin moves on smoothly as they enter the kitchen. "Speaking of, seems like it's about time we tell each other what we can do. Me, I can talk, I know my plants and as I hope you'll see," she goes over to the cupboards to see what ingredients she has to work with, "I can cook up a storm. Or a meal, whichever you prefer. How 'bout you, dreadlocks?" She looks to Benji. "You got any special talents or are we gonna have to pull you along by your piercings?"
She gives him an encouraging smile, not letting on the true reason she picked him to ask - he'd already shown he had some kind of special abilities, so asking him to explain would help move on from her own somewhat vague answer.

Vess quietly walks into the kitchen after the rest, poking around to see what sorts of food she can find. She mostly tries to ignore the others, but doesn't push them to the side or anything, just minds her own business.

Benji enters the kitchen as the girls talk, just after getting a few fliers to read. He is super curious about the computer but didn't dare to use them alone for fear of breaking something. He walks in just as Robin talks about her skills and rudely asks about his.
"The name is Benji, and no special talent that I know of," he answers. In his community, there were people far more skilled than him, after all. "I mean, I guess I'm a bit better at warding than most, but that's about it. Oh, and I have no idea how to use pokémons for battle," he says, to the chagrin of his yungoos, who stirs around his neck and nips at his ear to show it disagrees. "Ouch! Ok, guess he can bite."
He then sits on a counter, opening one of the fliers around the surrounding area to read. "What about the others?" he asks, raising his eyes to look at the girls.

The people looking around for food find mostly non-perishables, base ingredients that'll last a long while, canned vegetables, some frozen fruits and meat, and a small amount of fresher vegetables. Nothing fancy or remarkable, but enough to make a half decent meal out of.

Jean-Marie nods at Robin's request. "I suppose that makes sense. I am most at home in the woods, but really wilderness of any kind is better than the city. Because of this, I have developed my trade as a guide, and will be able to help us navigate the wilderness." She looks down at her hand, flexing her outstretched fingers.
"I also have some ability fighting hand-to-hand, although my techniques are a little bit... unorthodox. Still, they have aided me in protecting myself and Cheri on my travels, and I am happy to extend that umbrella to you all now!" she says, smiling cheerfully.
“No one has ever asked me my goals so matter-of-factly before. I am hoping to get Cheri strong enough so she can fly, but I am also interested in learning more about the Ranger Corps.” She opens her mouth to speak but pauses briefly, quickly reconsidering her frankness before offering a more general explanation. “But most of all I just want to explore the region. ‘Not all those who wander are lost’ and all that.”

Orianne grabbed a bit of the frozen meat and put it on a plate. She put the plate on the table. Her cat jumped up and immediately began to gnaw on the hard slab. It seemed to suit her just fine. Orianne began looking for a blender, in hopes of making herself of smoothy from the frozen fruit. Glancing back as the questions seemed deflected toward her, she shrugged her shoulders.
"I've trained some as a dancer... though I prefer to design clothes. Crystals tend to be my muse."
When her smoothie was finished, she sat next to Sapphire, who took a momentary pause from her own meal to lap up some of Orianne's drink. The girl didn't seem to mind sharing.

Robin nods, privately hiding the touch of nervousness as he looks at the ingredients - while he's kept his cooking skills fairly sharp, it's been a while since he's had an actual kitchen to work with.
This nervousness disappears when he picks up a knife and feels the steel against his finger. Like riding a bike.
With a smile, he begins chopping some of the meat and vegetables for a quick stir-fry. As he works, he turns to the one among them who's remained silent, Vess.
He thinks for a moment - it seems clear that just directly asking her about herself would yield, at most, a terse bit of dismissive summary, so he tries a different tack. "How about you, Vess? See you've managed to make friends with a Ferroseed. I know that's no small feat, so I'm guessing he's not the only fighter between the two of you?"
