The attacks land and keep wearing it down but this is far from over. It decides that that Lucario needs to GO. It begins to stockpile even more, while throwing a disable at Ice fang cause it doesn't like that! Alexa tries to get Spinarak to attack again, and the Muk decides to target 'it' this time. Melissa continues her attempts to vaporize the Muk with her mind; Lucario joins in, since the thing is too squidgy for his fists to make any real impact. Confusion from Melissa! yxOfOZgl1d20 vs AC 2 1d8+32 Special Psychic-type damage Confuses on 19+

Ordira is not very happy about having her Ice Fang disabled, but Nori knows she has other options. "Keep hitting him! Melissa's attacks are all dodged, and only Nori's his but hardly does anything. Spinarak lets loose dark strikes again! The Muk then throws sludge at Lucario to take it out, slude at Ordira again, and then unleashes everything at Melissa! Night Shade vs Muk AC 2 Ghost Special 4Cg1ssDJ1d20

"Brace for it!" Ordira lowers her head to keep the sludge out of her face, letting most of the slop slide off her tough scales. "Now strike back! Let's spray this guy down!"When Ordira lifts her head again she lets loose with a powerful spray of water. As Lucario finally goes down, Melissa releases her other new Pokemon. "Vitruvius! Destroy this muAAGH!" The Graveler emerges directly into the path of the Muk's torrent of slime, nearly swamping it. She scowls at the oversized pollution Pokemon. "This battle has ceased to be amusing. Just die already!"
Graveler's initiative is 4. As if that wasn't bad enough, he'll lose his next action Intercepting for Melissa.

As the attacks land, the Muk looks around and only seeing one really battered Lucario fall down after all this time and quickly being replaced, it decides it's had enough! It splashes a huge wave in front of everyone, which catches the group off-guard, but was really only so it could run away!
After the wave crashes back down, it's already sliding up the wall where the fossil was, deformed into ooze. As it quickly passes by the fossil, it glows again as if reacting. But then it's slipped out of sight in a mere moment. The fossil actually starts glowing after it had left, and the head falls into the water. It glows for a while before... shrinking? It actually ends up floating right over to the group... and now it just seems regular Tyranitar size!
...ok?

"BACK, RADIOACTIVE GHOST-FOSSIL! WE'LL NOT BE TAKEN IN BY SUCH AN OBVIOUS PLOY!" It's possible Melissa is still running high on adrenaline.

"What are you talking about, Doc? A radioactive ghost-fossil is awesome!" Nori grins. "Weren't you just talking a few days ago about a breeding Tyrantrum population?""
(He's lost track of exactly how many days that was, between all the regular travel and the time travel, and he suspects that it may actually be today or tomorrow, but whatever.)
He pats Ordira's back as she growls suspiciously at the skull, then steps right up to it, inspecting it curiously. "So, what's your deal, Screaming Skull? You wanna come along with us?"

"Don't be fooled, Nori! It's clearly plotting to... to..." Melissa trails off as her imagination fails her - or perhaps she's just coming down from the adrenaline rush. She narrows her eyes and points a warning finger at the skull. "Fine. But I'll be watching you! Don't think I won't!"

It does not react, and is in fact not glowing anymore. It had stopped as soon as it shrunk. And one could mistake the darkness for something floating, but it in fact was the water. So it's now in the water next to the group, still Tyranitar sized, so you probably couldn't easily take the whole thing but... all you need is some DNA. A tooth will be enough!

Nori leans in to inspect the skull more closely. "I wonder what's up with the size-changing... There's something weird about this sucker, I just dunno what. Maybe Tyzilla's a documentary in this timeline."
He reaches into the skull's jaws, trying to work one of the heavy fangs free. "Imagine if we could clone this guy. A primeval Tyranitar, a real mountain-eater. Now that would be awesome."

"Well, the energy field it was exuding definitely wasn't normal. The Muk appeared to be feeding off that, as much as the physical bones; I imagine that's how it grew so large in the first place." Melissa heads over to the wall to investigate the cavity where the fossil once resided. Is there anything left there, aside from possibly-radioactive Muk slime and maybe a few more bones?

There is indeed more bones, for sure. The rest of the skeleton, as well as one which apparently might have been the Tyranitar's meal.
...fun!

Noire and Alexa head off and find themselves staring at a smaller train track with a controllable split. One side seems to be be blank, while the other seems to have five pokedolls tied along the tracks. Norie's radio crackles to life with that woman's voice again.
"Hey kiddos! So you may have seen this moral dillemma before, but never like this! You know what it is, make a choice, is it better to sacrafice one for many, blah blah blah. But who ever considers the person who tied all those people to the track!? What was their mindset, huh? WELL ITS TIME TO FIND OUT!"
Spot lights turn on to the two sections of track, revealing holes in the floor of the blank one. There's also a spotlight on a hand switch for the main track to switch between the two.
"Well if you came here on your own... well your choice is obvious, isn't it?"
She cackles.
"But if you didn't come here alone well... A life of any true ner-do-well doesn't need friends! They sacrifice anything for their goals!"
Cue evil laugh and dramatic musical sting. Alexa blinks a few times.
"Uhhhh, is one of us supposed to tie the other to the tracks?"

"Sure looks that way." Noire paces over to the empty track, walking around the holes and inspecting them curiously. "Wonder if it's actually that simple and we're just supposed to spend the time agonizing over who gets tied down, or if there's some sort of trick to it..."
She taps a finger against her lips. "Wonder what happens if we flip the switch without tying somebody down?"

Alexa shrugs.
"I mean it's not like a Gym Leader would actually put people in danger, right?"
She looks over at the blank one.
"I guess at most it'd probably fail us, or ask us to try again? And well... I mean we both are damsels, either of us can be in distress, right?"

"Yeah, I guess so..." Noire prods one of the holes with her foot gently. "Hope that message doesn't mean whoever's tied down is stuck here while the other one keeps going, though. That'd be boring."
Then she flashes Alexa a crooked grin. "'Either of us,' huh? So does that mean you're angling to tie me up?

"That would be a little dumb, I think."
For the second statement, she quickly blushes and looks off into the distance.
"I- UMMM... I mean... maybe... Or maybe... some other configuration... I don't know..."

Noire giggles a little. "Wow, you're not usually that easy to embarrass. Did I hit a nerve?"
She settles down after a moment. "Seriously, though. I can take the spot if you really don't want to get tied up, or we can flip for it or something. It's a gym, they're probably not going to run us over... well, not seriously."
