Nori uses Focused and Brutal Orders Elegantua uses Shock Wave on Aerodactyl Shock Wave always hits. Crit check: CX4Ud6H_1d20, crit 17+ 2d8+22 Special Electric damage
Eventually Aaron and Nori make their way to the arena, and he begins with... a Kingler? But... it's completely made out of rock? What the heck is this?
Nori sighs quietly. "Man, I wish this wasn't just the second gym. Shame to come to a rock concert and not be famous enough to have theme music yet."
He cracks his knuckles and sends out Elegantua, since she's still pumped up from the mosh pit. And also since, whether it's covered in rocks or shells, Kinglers have hard armor, but a lot of Pokémon with armor like that aren't so hot with pure energy attacks. He'll just have to find out... "Prepare to be thunderstruck! Let's show him what we got, Elegantua!"
Elegantua pinwheels her little Elekid arms, building up a charge that she launches at the rock Kingler in a jagged disc of ball lightning.
Nori uses Focused and Brutal Orders Elegantua's init: 13 Elegantua uses Electro Ball! AC 2 vs g|ZhzQmV1d20+2, Crit 17+ 2d8+35 Special Electric damage. Target subtracts Speed as well as Special Defense from Electro Ball's damage.
Aaaand he probably should've expected that from a rocky Water-type. Nori winces as Elegantua braces against the flood of mud - then he gets an idea. "I bet this guy's heavy. Elegantua! Go low!"
Elegantua runs up, trying to duck under the Kingler's rocky claws, and lashes out at its legs and underside with her stubby feet.
Elegantua gains 2 injuries. Her Evasion increases by one and her Initiative increases by 5. Nori uses Brutal and Focused Orders Elegantua uses Low Kick AC 2 vs AmuBrvM_1d20+2, crit 17+ 3d8+24 Physical Fighting damage On hit, Elegantua activates Cruelty! Kingler gains 1 Injury, then takes 2 damage for every Injury it has.
Elegantua sees the attack coming this time and manages to dodge the spray of mud. "Yeah, good moves! Let's crack this crab!" She throws a wave of crackling electricity back at the Kingler.

"One down! Let's keep up the pace!"
Elegantua dodges the Charjabug's assault deftly, ducking out of the way, then starts to back off. Nori frowns as he considers their options - Elegantua doesn't really have an answer to Charjabug if it's Rock and Bug or Rock and Electric. It's too small for Low Kick to be useful, and if it's Electric-type then her Electric moves are going to be less effective. Still, it's worth a try... maybe it's still a bug? And it's probably slow, so...
"Let's keep rolling! Electro Ball!" And Elegantua fires off another round of ball lightning!
Nori uses Focused and Brutal Orders Elegantua uses Electro Ball AC 2 vs B2KLL76l1d20+2, Crit 17+ 2d8+35 Special Electric damage; the opponent subtracts its Speed from Electro Ball's damage as well as Special Defense

This is one Elegantua can't dodge, finally, and she squeals in protest as the Charjabug's jaws snap at her. Nori winces - but she's still standing, if only barely.
Probably still Electric. Which means there's no point Thunder Waving it. Nothing Elegantua can do is really going to achieve much at this point.
"Okay, Elegantua! You've done great, but it's time to let somebody else have a turn!" Nori pulls out another ball as he recalls her, then swaps hands deftly. "Now! Face Baobab, the world tree!"
Baobab chuckles from all three of his mouths as he towers up toward the ceiling.
Post by carnackiArdent on Jan 11, 2020 4:06:57 GMT
Bug munching is not good, but not quite as bad as it would be if Baobab was actually still a Psychic type. "Cheap shot! Well, it'll take more than that to take you down. Show 'em the trick the forest guardian taught you!"
Baobab gathers energy around its fronds, then launches an orb of glowing green light at the Charjabug!
Baobab now has 3 injuries! He gains +5 initiative and +1 to evasion! Nori uses Focused and Brutal Orders Baobab uses Energy Ball! AC 2 vs f0NxSNyy1d20+2; target takes -1 SpDef CS on 14+, crit 17+ 3d10+29 Special Grass damage

Between his woody trunk and draconic blood, the shock doesn't do much actual damage to Baobab, but it is enough to zap him and make him twitch. Nori tries not to look concerned. "C'mon, that's nothing! You can power through it - take this sucker out! Machine gun time!"
Baobab shakes off his twitchiness for a moment and zeroes in on the Charjabug, spraying sharp-pointed seeds from all three mouths.

Seya
Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Slytherclaw
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
DataNinja
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
(27 Sept 2015): "No theme to it this time, just miscellaneous changes to range from rejiggering old Classes to streamlining core mechanics to making balance adjustments."
(22 Feb 2016): "Most of our playtest packets deal with Classes or Items, so it's time we had one that dealt with the most important thing of all: Pokemon!"
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
