Substitute! That was suspicious. Or was it bait? Stella squinted at the ninja frog, trying to discern its secrets. *Stare* *Staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare* *Stare!!*
Eos fared quite well so far, between her DR 5 and decent defence, so that's nice. Gave her options! Take the bait of 1 or try to finish 2? Let's go for 2 by now; at least so it doesn't pull off something sneaky!
The orange haired girl made the attack sign and pointed to 2! Get it!
The whimsicott uses Giga Drain!

Erp. Would be really convenient if #2 was the right one - and if it had fainted by now! Stella wiped away a large bead of sweat on her forehead. No ice beams yet ... But she had a worrying feeling the Frogoids would soon figure out that Eos was a Fairy type and resistant to Dark attacks. Now if only she had an offensive move of that type!
4 & 5 definitely hurt. And 1 was hiding. Oh and her head already hurt a bit. Let's try and knock out #2 just in case - even though it seems to do less damage!
Eos the smug whimsicott was still in a good mood. And ready to Energy Ball that fool! Go go grass magic sphere!!

2 falls! And it was... one of the Ditto! Ah boo. Regardless, that leaves four targets that keep striking! 1 doesn't seem to get the message and Feints once more! 3 substitutes! 4 throws a ghosty-goo move, and changes type to match! Feint Attack Can't Miss Dark Physical ck7pocCk1d20 2d8+40

1 has Substitute and hits hard. A bit slow for a ninja though, so Stella thinks this is a magical fox. Or a sneaky trick?
2 is gooey and splatted. So far so good!
3 has Substitute and has feinted, but it it slow and doesn't hit so hard. This one probably isn't the boss pokémon... Or does the boss have a full defensive spread to be annoying?
4 & 5 are equally fast, feints equally hard and ... Hmm.
Maybe 1 was the one to poke? So one knew for sure! Stella rubbed her poor head. But yeah, let's do that! Get #1!!
Eos the whimsicott wasn't super thrilled by how things progressed, these frogs were dangerous in large numbers! She Dodged the Shadow Sneak because she was fairly sure it wouldn't work vs Feint. Plus this one hurt more. Plus if they had Ice Beam they'd have used it by now!
Giga Drain time! Eos uses Giga Drain on #1! It bypasses Substitute due to Infiltrator. Just straight to those delicious and hopefully Water typed HP!

(Healed for 26) The attack bypasses the Substitute aaaaaaaaand, the illusion vanishes! it was the sneaky Zoroark! Now fully revealed, the Zoroark leaps off to the side, leaning against a wall till the battle's over. Oh... didn't even have to defeat it. Ok! That' just leaves 3, 4, and 5! And they don't like that this one gets by their tricks. 3 Shadow Sneaks! 4 does the same! 5 opts to drop a smokescreen since there's only the three of them left! Aha yes! It was the sneaky fox! Which... Wasn't actually what she was supposed to find. Stella nodded to herself though - still nice to be rid of it!
Hmm. 3 doesn't seem to change type. Neither did the sneaky fox, so maybe that one is the other ditto? Plus two substitutes!
That means 4 and 5 are generic frog and boss frog! A pity they seem to be equally fast, equally damage-y. Hmph. One had Special Attacks maybe? Or different defenses, but Eos Drain moves were all out of uses so no way to check. So try and bait it's coverage moves? Feint, Shadow Sneak and Smokescreen all seemed like part of the default ninja kit.
Aight time to try and stretch this fight a little longer! Eos the Whimsicott Disengage 1m away from the smoke screen and used Cotton Guard (+3 CS defence). If they insist on chipping her down after this that's dedication!

The armoured fluff of Eos resisted most of the attacks, but there was enough chipping done by now so she was starting to feel a bit beat-up. Ow!
4 *and* 4 attacked this round eh? Perhaps this was some advanced trickery... Or not. Let's just smack 4 then 4 sure!
Disengage another 1m. Soon out of the smoke cloud! Then Energy Ball 4!

Hah! Sneaky ghost attacks just tickled the fluffball. Getting Feinted straight in the face wasn't great though - but it'd take a lot more to squish this annoying fairy! And now it was time for the annoying fairy to *squish* ba- ... Hmm. No pp left on drain? Or Cotton Guard? Uhmm... Next turn it would be time for sqishing! This turn though take some pocket stun spores!

Welp. Eos would be the first to admit that that stun spore wasn't great. But in her defence it was dark and smokey and hard to see! Hmph. Almost more painful then getting batted around by a bunch of frog lookalikes. Almost!
Stella waved some encouraging things and reminded Eos of the objective - which currently was to Energy Ball #4!

Wow! Stella wobbled in amazement after managing to pick the right frog after ... uh some tries. No matter! Eos had done so well. The orange haired girl rushed forward to scoop up the scuffed up Whimsicott for a gentle hug. The cotton ball deflates a bit as it relaxes. There! Better. Now let's get some bandages on there and heal up a bit. (And go peek on other people's threads )

Eventually Stella also realizes there's professional healing available, so she goes there and hands over her injured Whimsicott. And carefully monitors the situation, on the tip of her toes if needed. Once she get Eos back she scoops her up again and continues towards the leader. Yeah we're ready!

Tricky! But foolish; don't they know Flaaffy barely get any decent electrical attacks anyhow? Stella steeples her fingers to her internal monologue as Deimos blasts the strange pokémon with a Power Gem!
