The Fennekin spit embers at Litwick, but realize quickly that those only serve to empower it. (Flash Fire is triggered twice.)

Lumosity's SpAtk goes up two Combat Stages! Lumosity decides that two can play at their game and flings an ember of his own!

Of course, it turns out that fire doesn't work on the Fennekin either. Well. This is awkward. Especially when Fennekin #2 attempts some other, more physical attacks and finds they just pass right through the ghostly candle. The two Fennekin look at each other, then quickly evacuate the area, grabbing and dragging their friend along in the process.
Skye earns 39 Poke XP.

Deciding to go fishing in Viridian while she's here, Skye nabs herself a fishing pole and heads to the little pond on the outskirts of town. She's barely put it in before something comes flying out of the water. Moments later, something else comes flying out after it. Well, more like oozing out of the water, but hey, semantics.
Grimer - 6
"Grimer!" the sludgy-looking Pokemon yells, eyeing the frightened Azurill.

Dropping everything as well as releasing Luminosity from his ball, Skye uses her newfound flight to give the Grimer a literal flying kick! Luminosity was a bit confused to have been suddenly called out, but knew what was up as soon as he saw Skye kicking the Grimer. He then proceeded to follow up Skye's attack with an Ember hurled the Grimer's way.

Grimer's eyes flash blue, Disabling Ember! It belches out a cloud of poisonous gas!

Fueled by the instinctive need to protect the cute creature, Skye struggles through the poison. She then raises her hand up in the air as blue energy begins to coat it, becoming thicker and thicker until it resembles the outline of a claw instead of the outline of a hand. She slashes down at the Grimer with it. In the meanwhile, Luminosity switches over to using Fire Spin in place of Ember.

First, Grimer is stuck by Skye's clawing attack. This turns it into a puddle of inanimate goo. Then, the pile of goo is set on fire. It doesn't even twitch, but if it was faking unconsciousness before, it certainly isn't now.
Skye earns 12 Poke XP.
Azurill is currently hiding within Skye's bag, thinking it the safest place to avoid Grimer.

Skye opens up her bag and smiles sweetly. "It's okay, the big scary Grimer is gone now. You;re safe."

Apparently, Skye's face was not what Azurill was expecting to open the bag for some reason. The moment she opens the top, she gets a face full of exploding bubbles. They don't really hurt that much, but they are sure surprising! Azurill peeks its head out afterwards, looking sheepish.

"Oh! Wow, even when scared, you're certainly ready to defend yourself huh?" Skye says with a laugh. "It takes some real courage to stand up for your fears like that, you know."

Azurill attempts to pull itself out of the bag by its tail (it's got no arms), only to cause the bag to topple over. Azurill falls out along with some of Skye's stuff, including a couple of Poke Balls. One of which happens to boop Azurill.
Surprised Azurill is caught! Level 10, Male, Patient, with Thick Fat.

Bemused by the events and still poisoned, Skye goes back to town to rest up. The next day, she comes back to try her hand at fishing again.

The following day, Skye returns to the pond to see a cute lil' bug skating atop the surface of the water. The scorched pile of goo that was an unconscious Grimer is notably absent, but the details on that don't really matter. It's gone now is what matters.

Skye smiles and floats over to the bug. "Hi there little one! How are you today?"

Surskit seems somewhat surprised to see a floating human (even if they look eerily like a Pokemon too). It waves one of its little legs at her before resuming its skating.

"Hmmmmm..." Skye says as she watches the Surskit skate around. She was theoretically weightless while in flight, but what if it wasn't a full on/off switch and she could add just enough weight back to skate on the pond like Surkit on her tip toes. She tentatively put her feet on the surface on the water and tried to add just a smidge of weight back to herself...only to add all of it back and fall straight into the water.

Surskit is sent spinning off to the side of the pond and looks back at where Skye just was. Huh. Did the human fall in? Clumsy human. A number of smaller Pokemon are scattered by Skye's sudden "invasion" of their territory before she claws her way back to the surface. The water isn't terribly deep, but it's deep enough in the center to hide all sorts of things; and not let Skye touch the bottom while treading water on the surface.

Skye floats back out of the pond. "Sorry everyone! I was trying to skate on the surface like Surskit, but I guess its just not going ta happen..." Skye says apologetically with a sigh.

There are a few annoyed glares from disturbed Pokemon, but they don't linger, returning instead to the bottom of the pond. Surskit twirls about on the surface of the water again, seeming to be amused that Skye thinks a clumsy human can do as it does.
