Mayu is worn-out and bruised from the fight, but she's also sick of making her way through this tunnel slowly and carefully - it feels like she's been at this for months, exploring a few dozen paces before encountering wild Pokemon and then going back to Lavender Town for healing. She must be nearly to the other side now. She elects to push on.

Both Pokemon are caught off-guard by the attacks from the past. Omicron mostly shrugs it off; Sigma has a harder time, but manages to recover pretty quickly. Mayu tries another Pokeball in the lull while her Pokemon regain their footing, and then the attack resumes, slightly dizzier and less coordinated than before.

This Pokeball fails to even connect. Somehow, the badly injured Bronzong manages to hold on. Flames wash over the second Bronzong, leaving it nearly as weak as its fellow. They blast and punch!
