Gliscor is wiped out completely by the nasty ice-type attack. Whirlipede hangs in there for only a moment longer before collapsing as well. Victory! Gain 92 Poke XP, 1 Misc XP, and 3125 PYen. The elderly couple congratulate Mayu as they recall their Pokemon and offer her physical payment; they're a bit too old to have been included in the Trainer License update that enabled easier digital transfer of funds, so whenever they're fancying a battle, they carry some extra cash around with them. After a nice nap (that Mayu didn't even realize she was going to get), it's onward to Route 13. This is one of the strangest areas in Kanto, all can agree. Not long after the road from Route 14 ends, there is a literal maze of fences. Who put them here, and for what purpose, nobody knows. Thankfully, it's not all that difficult to navigate them if all you want is to travel northward. The only obstacle at this time for Mayu is a Luxio that seems to have claimed part of the path as its territory and deters all from drawing near it.

Teeth do work better. Theoretically speaking, anyway, Delta intercepts the bite with one arm, and it turns out his arms are tough. And needle-y.

Epsilon emits a blort of protest as the slime strikes true. That hurt, and if training alongside Alpha hadn't left him accustomed to taking such blows it might have knocked him out cold. As-is, he slides out of the sludge and spews a beam of frigid cold at the Nidoking.
