Victoria - Adventure Thread (Johto)

Oh no, they're not letting Vicky wander off on her own! Nope, they're coming with unless there is something that physically prevents them doing so.

The Ruins of Alph appear to be about as deserted as ever; likely for the same reasons as always: There's nothing new being discovered. This time, at least, there are no visible, wandering Unown.

The other girls only shrug. Obviously Victoria told them the story on the way over, so they're up to date if nothing else. If Victoria was expecting her questioning of the Unown's lack of presence to trigger one to appear (which would so be something that would happen to her), she is sadly disappointed. Poking around in the buildings doesn't seem to reveal anything either. Come to think of it...where the heck do they even come from? Most scholars agree they aren't 'native' per se...

As if summoned by her consideration (if subsequent rejection) of their offer, the mysterious ? Unown approaches from parts unknown. Having interacted with them in the past, Victoria finds she can understand it more easily than she could prior to her soujourn as one of their kind (an event which still makes as much sense as video game-like text boxes and alternate universes). It inquires as to her presence. Does she wish to join the Collective?

Almost as if they had expected this request (come on, they read your mind; of course they knew what you wanted the moment you thought of it), five more random Unown appear. 'V' 'I' 'C' 'K' and 'Y' plus the already present '?'. It seems they're amenable to the deal. The '?' (presumably) confirms this. It and the other five will join together to aid Victoria. They can grant Victoria the power she desires, but they cannot properly instruct her in it. (You need to find a special NPC to give you the Rune Master class.) It cautions, however, that their communication will be limited once these six separate from the Hive. (They lose the ability to communicate telepathically.)

Unown '?': Lvl 32, Skittish, Levitate and Anticipation.

Unown 'V': Lvl 30, Rash, Levitate and Forewarn.

Unown 'I': Lvl 33, Bashful, Levitate and Perception.

Unown 'C': Lvl 34, Hasty, Levitate and PguwvtSM1d3 (1 is Forewarn, 2 is Perception, 3 is Anticipation)

Unown 'K': Lvl 31, Lax, Levitate and 1d3

Unown 'Y': Lvl 31, Stark, Levitate and 1d31d3·1d3·1d3

Unown '?' does not know the human's designation (name), but knows of how to find them. They will find a way to contact this person.

May has taken to hiding behind Whitney and peeking over her shoulder. When the Unown appeared out of nowhere, it startled her. Even if they're not hostile, she doesn't like how they 'feel'. Maybe May is sensitive to otherworldly influences? Or perhaps just to Psychics like Unown since she didn't react this way to Mt. Mortar... Nevertheless, she's happy to be out of this creepy place! Union Cave wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the basilisk-thing, but they're going back there next, so...

May nods. "Sorry, it's just those...Unown? They creep me out. They're so...weird. They feel unnatural somehow. I can't...really explain it."

May nods again. "Y-yeah. Okay. I think a lot of it might be this place. If this is where the Unown come from, then any feeling I have about them is probably intensified a lot being at their...place of origin? Whatever. Let's just go..."
