Hmmm, so it seems it's either swim across with a pokemon (which she doesn't have), or fly (and her pokemon aren't ready). So really the only other option is through the mountain. So mountain away!

The oh so familiar blue text box appears asking Victoria if she'd like to enter the Mt. Mortar Dungeon. It even offers a 'difficulty level' which it didn't do before. Not that it offers any point of reference for the Difficulty Class of 4. Is that high? Low? Something in between? It does, helpfully, offer up the information that either a flying Pokemon or a swimming Pokemon with access to Waterfall are necessary to fully complete this dungeon.

After beating up the Ambush Maniac, Vicky and May head on into sleepy little Mahogany Town. The Pokemon Center is open, as always, and welcomes the two. It's nice to be reminded that the Nurse Joys of Johto are not completely, genetically identical; like in Kanto. That was weird. Not that Vicky (or May) say anything out loud. As a matter of fact, this particular Pokemon Nurse is named Carla, based on her nametag. Victoria's Pokemon are quickly whisked away for treatment. Or, well, Kay is. None of the others are even remotely winded right now, let alone injured.

Victoria patiently awaits Kay getting healed, and while she does she looks up and makes sure that the gym is not closed today. Afterall, if Whitney was off, this one may be too. Best to double-check.

Kay is quickly returned to Victoria, so it's off to the races Gym! Naturally, as an Ice-Type Gym, it's pretty freaking cold in there. Oh boy, it looks like there's a puzzle in this one too.
"Yo! Champ in the making!" A "random guy" calls out from near the 'Gym Hall of Fame' posts. He seems to offer advice on how to navigate the sliding puzzle. Ice that's slippery? Who knew!

Alright, so more puzzles. Interesting. She slides down the ice and into the first ice boulder and finds it slides down and clinks into the other one. She follows after it, only finding she can slide a singular direction. But that just means going left, further up, then right, and she’s got a clear shot out.
And on the next floor, she immediately engages with the trainer on the right. Best to get some training in now, and know what sorta strength level we are dealing with.

She and May finally get through to the leader after healing her team in full. Kay's out once again, and she turns to her.
"Hope you're ready to kick ass, Kay. Countin on ya."
And with that she walks to the leader.

Kay offers a confident smile with promises to take at least one of the enemy down with her! May decides that acting as Victoria's cute cheerleader is both a great way to motivate Vicky and Kay and a great way to stay warm! Leader Katsura greets the group as they approach.
"Welcome to Mahogany Gym, Challenger. I trust your trip here wasn't too difficult?"

"Uhhh, the sliding around was fun... although cold, haha. But your trainers here aren't messing around!"
And judging by the jump in difficulty from Morty... I feel like I'm going to get stomped but...

She's handed the badge and the winnings, and bows to the leader. She did it! A full victory!
"Thank you. That was a hard and fast fight... for sure. It was a good one! And I do plan on trying everybody back when we are gearing up for the conference. Save for maybe badge eight since there wouldn't be much difference... and one I really don't want to face again anytime soon."
She looks a little embarrassed and laughs.
