There is a mental "ping" of acknowledgement from Gardevoir, followed immediately by her eyes growing to the size of dinner plates when she realizes Victoria is naked save for the apron. "Is, um...this just a thing humans are doing now? Walking around in the buff?" She nervously asks.

She realizes she did not re-dress beforehand and looks down.
"Oh whoops! Forgot. My bad!"
She brings the plate over and sets it down.
"And it's a thing in this home for me and May, sure. While at the ranch anyway."
She laughs.
"Although I will say 'you' are a person and are naked right now, and I haven't said anything yet."
She giggles, obviously kidding.
"But don't go around saying 'humans' like that. Don't forget you're still a person too! Don't go all native on me already!"

Unnamed Gardevoir blushes. "I mean, don't let me stop you from doing stuff with your gf! I was just curious since you're kinda the first other human I've seen in awhile." She comments. "Though, as to my being 'naked', human mind or not, I still have the body of a Pokemon. Not really a lot to see." Her blush darkens. "I don't exactly plan on finding out where Pokemon Eggs come from first-hand." There is an awkward silence before she picks up the plate with psychic energy (having no actual hands kinda sucks) and begins eating.

"Oh that's true I guess you were stuck in the Safari Zone for a while, complete from a different world or time or what-have-you. No it's just me and May that act this way around here. With her body makeup, clothes were mostly an inconvience until she met me and my ideas, but she got used to being naked and I am too, in solidarity!"
She giggles.
"And yeah I know there's not a lot to see. It was a joke, dear. And yeah no, no pokemon eggs from you. Not till your married, anyway."
She gives a dumb smile and a laugh, trying to use a bit of humor to cheer her up.
"Alright, you enjoy. Like I said, you relax, just enjoy not having to worry about anything for a while, ok?"
She turns and leaves the room, kinda forgetting again she's only in an apron, and heads back to where May is, and sits down to eat.
"Everything good, May?"

NG can't help but giggle a little bit at the dumb joke and purposefully studies her food more intensely when Victoria turns to leave. May has apparently already "absorbed" her food, based on the gentle patting of her belly. "Tasty!" She exclaims while looking at Victoria with a cheeky smile.

She gives the Gardevoir a thoughtful look right before leaving that room noticing her reaction.
"Haha, good. We'll need the energy for the trek to Ecruteak."
It's not long and then the food is away in Victoria's tummy as well. And then if May is ready, the both of them dress and take off up north!

May marvels at the idea of actually having clothes. They even look cute, too! Feels a bit weird at first, but she gets used to it. She happily strolls alongside Victoria on their way back up to Ecruteak. With the morning having been spent on shopping, it is mid-late afternoon by the time they reach Ecruteak City. Thankfully, Morty's Gym Hours run a bit later than others (Falkner's run early), so it's still open!

Victoria's trip is that much better, with her best bud on her shoulder in Leibling, and now her lovely lady on her arm in May. She has a new confidence with May behind her back. Once they reach the city, she carefully shuffles her team around, with a couple of new pokemon on it, she heads inside to confront Morty.

One of the old lady ghosts (in their human form) pops up out of nowhere to startle the girls (for her own amusement) and then happily escorts the pair up to Morty. Poor May jumps out of her skin when an old lady pops up outta nowhere like that.
"Ah! Miss Erlast!" He calls out in greeting. "Welcome back. Made a new friend, I see?"

She looks sheepish at May as they are escorted to Morty. Once there, she snaps to attention.
"Hello again Morty! Yes this is my girlfriend May, she's gonna be adventuring with me, and wanted to see a Gym Match up close. I hope that's ok if she watches!"
She pauses for a moment.
"Oh ummmmm, do we know anything about the status of Aima and Miyako? I assume things like IDs for people that technically didn't exist take some time..."

Morty chuckles a bit. "Of course she can spectate! While here in Johto and Kanto, Gym Challenges are fairly private, I've heard of this place called 'Galar' that makes a whole thing out of the entire affair! It's crazy, I tell ya." He shakes his head. "As for our shrine maiden friends, Miyako is still undergoing community service for her transgressions, and as you might suspect, her sister does not wish to go anywhere without her if at all possible."

Hmmm, if Miyako is already doing service, then they must be able to be out and about then. Excellent! She can go visit them and check in then!
She merely nods in the affirmitive to the second statement.
"Oh wow Galar sounds pretty wild. I don't know if I could fight in front of that many people. Going viral the other day is about as much as I've ever had in terms of viewers haha."
Leibling stands up straight as Victoria tenses a little.
"But I think it's time I get my badge, mister!"

It's over. It was a really long, tough fight, but Gengar won. So why is Morty congratulating you? He's about to launch into this speech about the passion Victoria showed or something, but an old ghost lady whaps him on the back of the head to cut it off at the pass.
"What Morty means to say is that you fought very well, deary. You are obviously a skilled trainer, and more than worthy to continue on your journey." She explains.
Morty hands over the Fog Badge, 5000 PYen, and Victoria's choice of TM 30 or TM 85; Shadow Ball or Dream Eater. Victoria gains a Milestone, 2 Misc XP, and 372 Poke XP.

She had ‘almost’ got the Gengar before Lind was put to sleep. If she hadn’t made the miscalculation in choosing- Wait, why is Morty congratulating her? He gets interrupted and ghost-splained for him, but Victoria is still confused. The battle was enough she guesses?
”Umm... ok?’”
She takes the badge, still clearly puzzled but it also means no more ghosties? Win/win? She looks over to May and shrugs.

"So that's it, huh? I get the badge cause I was close? Doesn't feel right. I hope this isn't like a once per trainer per journey thing and I used the one I got or will be checked for it in the future or something..."

Morty shakes his head. "No, no, it's a legitimate badge. Exactly the same as any other badge I hand out. It is a Gym Leader's prerogative to decide whether or not a Challenger is worthy of a badge. Some people may not gain one even if they defeat the leader, simply because they have a poor attitude. Others, like yourself, might have earned one for simply rising to the challenge of returning after defeat. You very nearly defeated Gengar at the last second, and had your attack hit just a bit harder, or one of the missed attacks connected, you likely would have walked away victorious." He explains. "Does that explanation help?"

That explanation seems to sink in. As it does, she nods faster and faster.
"Ok it's not just winning then. I guess if somebody just brought ever conceivable ghost counter and acted like a jerk, not exactly a worthy 'you can continue on your journey' event."
She takes the badge and puts it in her case.
"But I'll take it! I'm not exactly 'wanting' to face your strong and shenanigan filled ghosties a third time. Seemed like this time got harder somehow."

Morty smiles. "Precisely! Most Gym Leaders test the actual tactical skills of a Trainer last. Things like 'how one treats their Pokemon' and their general attitude when dealing with others are considered much more important to us. Thankfully, the truly bad eggs are extremely rare. Most folks can accept criticism well enough, even if they don't like it." He laughs when Victoria claims she doesn't want to face his stronger team(s). "I don't blame you! I wouldn't want to be their opponent either! Nonetheless, some people relish in such challenges, and as a Gym Leader, I must oblige them when appropriate. I wish you luck on the rest of your journey, Miss Erlast. You're about halfway done, and it only gets harder from here."
Morty is free to talk longer if Victoria wants to, but otherwise, he bids her and May farewell. The silly spectral sisters all appear to wave their goodbyes as well.

"I suppose it depends. I'm certainly thinking about doing everyone's full teams if I get my badges earlier and the silver conference still has time left. So I may end up coming back anyway."
She groans but smiles anyway.
"I'm sure it won't be annoying at all!"
She giggles.
"Have a good day, Morty."
She turns and leaves with May, and once outside, she turns to her girlfriend.
"There. I didn't put my journey on hold and got the badge! Happy now?"
She sticks her tongue out.
