The appearance of Radiant seems to distract Eschaton, leaving Silas and his mushroom nearby the rings, blinking instead over to the penguin, and slamming a tiny fist into her. The blow itself doesn't seem to do much damage... but a noticeable stream of energy cascades out of the Water-type, some dissipating, but the rest flowing into the ring that had been previously damaged but not destroyed. The cracks seal, chunks reform, and the golden hoop is left pristine. Empoleon takes 52 damage from Drain Punch. Ring 5 Recovers HP.

Emboldened by his success at destroying the first ring, Gus takes a step around the ring next to him and launches a another explosive mass of spores at it. Gus to J1 Gus uses Seed Bomb on R2 AC 2: 14 DB 10: 52

The ring hit by seeds begins to splinter much like the prior blows. But Eschaton seems to not be willing to take this lying down, as it launches psychic and ghostly assaults at the mushroom, flinging energy with gusto, flickering all about the room, all the time giving a maniacal giggle. By the end, Gus is looking rather worse for wear. R2 is hit by Seed Bomb. Parasect takes 44 damage and an injury from Psychic, and is Pushed 1m. Parasect takes 36 damage and -1 Sp Def CS from Shadow Ball.

All the blasting and teleporting around made the battlefield seem quite small. Except, now Eschaton had gathered up the rings, it was small. Thoron released Metio into their midst, where Metio could hit as many as possible. Thoron didn't have much hope for his field treatment. It was no match for Eschaton, at least. Thoron releases Metio to G5, applies Focused Training and spends an AP for accuracy. Metio's initiative: 15
Metio uses Earthquake. (If Rings 1 and 2 are outside the area of effect I forget how diagonals work with Bursts..., release to G6 instead) AC2 - |SBRrLEE1d20+3 (AP spent) DB12 - 3d12+43 Physical Ground damage
Metio shifts to D7. 1d20+3·3d12+43

The release is in an excellent spot, catching four rings in the shaking. It seems, though, like that causes some sort of resonance to shield them when multiple are hit; gathering psychic energy that's released around them. They're still damaged, especially the one Gus'd been picking at, but not as much as one would expect. Silas and Gus aren't so lucky, as the energy released from all the rings washes over them. Silas is able to grit his teeth, though he's fairly injured, while Gus finally falls, after absorbing so much punishment. Even the ring that wasn't targeted seems to have the sympathetic shield and release of energy. Ironically, Metio isn't close enough to the rings to be affected, despite being the one that unleashed their fury. It's a valuable lesson - be wary of hitting more than one ring at a time. Rings 1, 2, 3, and 4 are hit by Earthquake. It's not very effective... Silas takes 55 damage and an injury from Expanding Force. Parasect takes 38 damage, an injury, and Faints from Expanding Force.

After taking that hit, Silas can't be bothered to walk over to the ring Gus hit to finish it off. Instead, he throws a lazy ghostly punch at the thing, releases his next Pokemon, and steps behind some of the debris. Silas uses Shadow Punch on R2! Crit Check: 9 DB 10: 58
Silas releases Sera at J1! Initiative 20 Sera will Teleport out of any SFE attack or Crit.
Silas moves to B3.

The ring Silas hits finally breaks under the strain of the energy, shattering in a ripple of shards, before it vanishes into the ether. The tether it had on the Hoopa vanishes, leaving but four remaining. Ring 2 is destroyed.

The weakened ring that Radiant targets absolutely shatters under the water pressure, some of the spinning shards scoring the penguin's steel flesh before they finally vanish. Three rings down. Three remain. The imp blinks around again, this time slamming its fist into Metio, draining some of his energy into the ring beside him, restoring it to pristine glory, before the trio of remaining ones shifts around. Ring 4 is destroyed. Empoleon takes 21 damage and an injury from Synchronoise. Golem takes 30 damage and an injury from Drain Punch, gaining a tick of Temp HP. Ring 3 recovers health.

Sera leaves cover and fires a beam at the ring closest to Metio. It's definitely not her best shot, perhaps due to the activity around her target. Sera moves to H4! Sera uses Moonblast on R3! AC 2: 3 DB 12: 63
Sera will Teleport out of any Crit or SFE attack.

After his last maneuver, Thoron was wary of the remaining rings. He focused Metio on one at a time, and kept his distance. Metio was susceptible to Eschaton's draining attack, but wouldn't allow an easy time of it. Metio retaliated, striking the restored ring with a rock. Thoron uses Focused Orders and shifts to N7.

Sera's attack glances against the ring, but it holds firm, the light scattering against its glittering surface. Metio is a lot more fortunate, the stones striking true and splintering the newly repaired ring, causing it to once again look fairly ragged. It's still holding on, but only by a thin margin in places. The laughing Eschaton tosses a shadowy orb at Sera, but the ethereal humanoid flickers away, causing it to pass through her harmlessly. Metio is less fortunate, but still takes the energy blast like a champ, barely even flinching... though he seems to be dragged into the line of fire of two of the rings, if one isn't taken down quickly. With a giggle, Eschaton blinks away, before lobbing another orb of spectral nothingness at Sera. The Gardevoir's hurting, but still up. Moonblast misses. Stone Edge hits R3. Gardevoir avoids a critical Shadow Ball with Teleport. Golem takes 21 damage from Psychic (8 after temp HP), and is pushed 1m. Gardevoir takes 52 damage and an injury from Shadow Ball.

Having caught his breath a little, Silas peeks around the corner. The closest ring is in poor shape, so he forms a few spikes of ghostly energy and tears at the ring in an attempt to finish it off. Silas moves to B5 Silas uses Shadow Claw on R3! AC 2: 11 DB 9: 61 Physical Ghost

Silas manages to shatter the ring, just barely managing to dodge the shards of energy that come flying back at him. Radiant's attack strikes true as well - the remaining two rings are both worse for wear. One last good push could finish this. The foe doesn't seem like it's going to go quietly, though, as it begins to flicker wildly around the field, lashing out at those it appears beside. It doesn't manage to particularly severely hurt anyone, though, its energy clearly flagging against such tough foes. R3 is destroyed. R5 is hit. R3's Synchronoise misses. Empoleon takes 22 damage from Hyperspace Hole. Gardevoir takes 20 damage and an injury from Hyperspace Hole. Golem takes 28 damage from Hyperspace Hole.

Metio was no better off than the rings. And even if they were both within reach, experience said it was better to focus on one. While Thoron sized up the closer one, Metio was left to stumble away from Eschaton... And cause a rock slide. Metio disengages to C6 and uses Rock Slide on Ring 5 (A7 to C9) AC4 - kVs7_BHg1d20+1 DB10 - 3d8+43 Physical Rock damage 1d20+1·3d8+43

The rocks manage to narrowly avoid the thin ring, leaving it unfortunately unscathed - well, rather, not any more scathed than it already is. The imp takes this opportunity to continue its assault, first lobbing another sphere of shadows at Sera, who looks to be just barely hanging on. Metio ends in a similar predicament, tenaciously clinging to not succumb to the being's ferocious assault... he's been moved into the ring's line of fire, though. It concludes its barrage with another orb fired at Sera... this one completely ripping through her body, causing her to let out a soundless gasp, before she disperses into energy and is recalled. It looks like it's not willing to let up at even this late stage, with energy flagging all around. Rock Slide Misses. Gardevoir takes 45 damage from Shadow Ball. Golem takes 21 damage, -1 Sp. Def CS, and is pushed 1m by Psychic. A critical hit! Gardevoir takes 96 damage, 3 injuries, and Faints from Shadow Ball. A critical hit!

Radiant's eyes follow the ring as it flits away. Entirely too close to Thoron and Blake. She shuffles over and lines up a shot. Her injuries prove too much and the gush of water sails wide of the ring, leaving her to glare vehemently at it. Silas sticks to his hiding place. He's low on Pokemon, so each hit needs to count. With an extra heave behind his fist, the next blow definitely will. Next, Silas releases Chlori as far out as he can throw her. She needs to be positioned to hit either ring. Silas uses Shadow Punch on R5! Crit Check: 20! Critical Hit! DB 10 Crit: 76 Ghost Physical
Silas releases Chlori at D10. Initiative 30

Silas' punch shatters the remaining ring, but the reverberating shards that cast themselves out from the ring dig into him, causing enough pain to finally make him succumb to his wounds, and fall to the ground behind his debris. Chlori nimbly manages to dodge out the bolt of energy that the cackling imp throws out... a cackling that seems to go on long after it stops laughing as it blinks into the center of the room, drawing the remaining, nearly shattered, ring to itself. The pair seem to almost... merge, and the resulting ring begins to glow an ominous pink-purple light, shards of it beginning to eject out, laughter ringing louder and louder, as the sheer fabric of the air around it begins to shake. The light pulses repeatedly, faster and faster... bringing to mind the Silvally. But on a much, much larger scale. It might do good to seek cover. R5 shatters. Silas takes 60 damage, an injury, and Faints from Synchronoise. Psychic misses Salazzle.
