"Y-Yeah! T-Totally got them!" Ruby says, reaching the branch the Misdreavus is on. "N-Now, would you k-kindly join my t-team so I c-can get d-down before I pass out from s-sheer terror?" Ruby says, forcing a smile that does absolute nothing to cover up the fear on her face.

Misdreavus doesn't seem to be paying attention to Ruby's words. In fact, it suddenly dons a devious smirk. This...won't end well. Probably. Even having half-expected it, being right next to the Misdreavus when it shrieks again nearly causes Ruby to lose her hold on the tree branches she uses to climb. (Need Acrobatics or Athletics to hang on, then Focus to avoid becoming entirely paralyzed by fear.)

Either fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your point of view, Sapphire has wandered off a little too far to notice any of this absurdity going on. Instead, she's found a little goat! She recognizes this Pokemon; her father has one, or rather its evolved form, an elderly ram with a very proprietary air towards its master's garden. "Hello there," she waves. "Is there a herd around here?"

Ruby slips a bit when startled, but quickly regains her hold on her precarious perch. She, thankfully, is also not paralyzed by her own dizzying fear of heights; even when she looks down briefly upon slipping, realizing that she's nearly halfway up the tree and there are far fewer branches to climb above this point.
The Skiddo looks up at Sapphire and bleats once before resuming its previous task.

Ruby breathes a sigh of relief, and then glares at the Misdreavus. "Are you trying to get me killed?" She asks, her anger slowly starting to override her fears.

Misdreavus doesn't understand Ruby's plight. Then again, Ruby isn't a Misdreavus. Therefore, she is automatically unable to terrify things properly. It explains such as well, for all that Ruby understands when all she hears its variations on the Pokemon's name.

Through a combination of reading its posturing, analyzing its tone, and just a smidge of unconscious Aura usage, Ruby is able to figure out that it clearly believes itself superior to her in terms of scaring things. It may even be mocking her slightly for her inability to scare someone.

Skiddo bleats contentedly and leans into the head scritches. When Sapphire inevitably offers it the chance to come with her (possibly bribing with more head scritches), it agrees quickly.
