Freya wags a finger as she paces a bout mostly talking to herself. "It's that kind of thoughtlessness that almost brought about the apocalypse! Proper worship of Xerneas is a must! If it wasn't for them, we would have been doomed!" Freya takes a moment to catch her breath. "I do take this seriously, but people won't take faith itself seriously!" She folds her arms, and stamps her foot. "This is one of the main reasons as to why I'm here in the first place. People need to remember, and be enlightened!"

"Theeeere you are Sapphy! You ready to go to Cerulean yet?" Ruby says as she comes barreling down the hallway towards Sapphire, preparing to glomp her sister.

Oh dear. This is exactly the subject she didn't want to get drawn into discussing with Freya... For once, Ruby's interruption is welcome. "Good morning, Ruby. I haven't eaten yet, and I'm pretty sure you haven't either. Breakfast first, then travel." Sapphire allows herself to be glomped with the ease and resignation of long practice. Long, long practice. "I'm afraid I should be getting ready to leave, Sister Freya, but good luck to you." Because she means to be gone most of the day, she can actually manage some sincerity when she says that.

Emil is actually right inside the door, because while Sapphire was consoling Freya, he'd finished remonstrating with Lime and finished up his own breakfast.
"Morning Ruby. Oh, uh, Sapphire... did you talk to Sister Freya?" He looks sheepish. "I feel like I should go apologize, since it's not like Lime can really talk. I shoulda stepped in sooner..."

"I did. I'm sure she'd appreciate an apology at some point, but... when I left she was working herself into a fit of righteous anger about people not taking her religion seriously enough." Sapphire offers Emil a rueful smile. "So maybe right now isn't the best time. Up to you, I guess."
To Ruby, she adds, "Emil's new Ditto decided to copy Freya while she was at her morning sermon; she thought it was making fun of her - which I suppose it was - and then somebody else's Ditto joined in, and she got upset and ran off. That's why I was checking up on her."

"Huh...No wonder she was so upset. I'll be right back." Ruby then proceeds to run over to Freya, wordlessly give her a hug, and then run back to Sapphire and Emil. "Right then, are we ready to head out?"

"No," Sapphire says patiently, having obtained trays of food for herself and Ruby in the time that took, "you haven't eaten yet. Sit down and have breakfast, then we'll go." She pats the bench next to her.

It was quite the task, keeping Ruby on point. She, as Sapphire (and now Emil) well knows, has a tendency to get distracted by the littlest things and wander off if you don't keep a hold of her. Due to this, it takes nearly three times as long to reach Cerulean as it should have. Instead of a leisurely, 2-3 hour walk, it took nearly 10 hours (much of which was spent somehow getting lost in the woods with the road no more than a mile away). Eventually, the party staggers into town at nearly midnight and practically collapse in the entryway of the local inn. As they don't get a lot of guests in Cerulean, there are not a lot of rooms to start with. Thankfully, this also means there are vacancies. A room for Emil, and a room for both of the girls at 1 crown per night. Breakfast the following morn is included, but only if you get up early enough to catch it (breakfast stops being served at 9 AM).

Breakfast is done, and her sister has yet to wreak any havoc. Today is a good day. Sapphire nods. "Sure. Give me a minute to get some towels and a change of clothes, and I'll be right there."

After walking to the lake with her jacket covering her swimsuit, Ruby takes it off to reveal a white bikini that does a great job of showing off her assets. "Hey Emil! See something you like?" She asks mischievously, striking a pose. Without giving him a chance to answer, she jumps into the water and begins to search around for Pokemon.

Herding Ruby to Cerulean was exhausting, and Emil isn't usually one for staying up late, so he's a little bleary through breakfast. He manages to volunteer to come to the lake too, remembering that he'd been contemplating looking for crab-ish Pokémon, but he's not super clearheaded until they're well on the way to the lake.
He does turn pink when Ruby starts teasing him, though. He wasn't actually staring at her beforehand, but of course once she's drawn attention, it suddenly gets a lot harder not to look. He's mostly saved from serious embarrassment when Ruby jumps into the water and wanders off in search of Pokémon, and glances over at Sapphire. "Does she, uh, do that often?"
Emil himself hasn't really brought a swimsuit so much as just a pair of shorts he doesn't mind getting wet. He shrugs off his own coat and lays it near Ruby's. "Well, er, anyway, I'm probably gonna stick along the shore, if you need me." Emil isn't a completely hopeless swimmer, but the lake is a much bigger body of water than he has much experience with, and in any case he thinks the kind of Pokémon he's looking for are likely to stick to the rocks and shallows themselves. Unless Sapphire wants to stick around and make conversation he'll start picking his way off along the shore in search of Pokémon himself.

No sooner has Emil begun trawling the shallows for neat Pokemon when Ruby bursts from the water holding an oblivious Magikarp by the tail-fin. There isn't even time to call out and ask what she is doing before she smashes it into a tree. Repeatedly. The tree then breaks and collapses nearly on top of her. By the time her frenzy has run its course, she has dropped the now-lifeless Magikarp into the dirt and rushed back into the water to play with a Buizel that turns up.
