She notes Freya's comment, and at least she didn't flip out like the others. Sapphire and Emil really need to learn from Freya and Ruby.
While they all go searching their boards, seeing not a lot on there, Stephanie pipes up again.
"Well it seems like the guild isn't going to give us guidance. I suppose it's up to us then."

Emil shakes his head. "Bug Branch is pretty much the same way - mostly just little chores, unless someone's put something big up since yesterday. Nice to do, but not anything likely to take us exploring. Most of 'em prolly wouldn't take us out of the city, and I don't think your li'l bear's going to be hanging round an inn or somethin'. I already did the 'find a Pokémon' mission, too, and they don't pay you for doin' that one over'n'over."
He sighs and nods when Stephanie declares it's up to them. "So whaddaya think? I wanted to head north or south. North's probably better for forests."

Emil can't help rolling his eyes as he stands up. He's lost some of his initial nervousness about Ruby, possibly out of having to deal with her getting into trouble two mornings in a row.
"How do you tell what time it is, Ruby? Sun rises in the east. When it's on your right hand, you're facing north. Or we can just go find the road to Cerulean, it's pretty much pointed due north anyway." Actually this time of year the sun's a little north of east, but close enough.

Freya returns to the others. "I have returned! Unfortunately, there seems to be nothing available outside of small, meaningless jobs. I suggest we head out, and find adventure for ourselves." Freya has all the stuff she needs, so she joins Stephanie and the others.

Freya is indeed looking for some pokemon. Two certain ones that could eventually help in her studies of pokemon breeding.

Freya taps her chin, and thinks to herself. "Hmmmm...I think I will be spending time in the guild. Sermons to perform, and keep laying the groundwork for the breeding program."

"I could stand to go to Cerulean one of these days. Though I was thinkin' of checking out the water. 'Sposed to be, some of Tulip's relatives are Water-types, and I was curious about catchin' a crab Pokémon."
He shrugs his shoulders. "Cerulean's a pretty safe place anyways, with Hero Clay livin' there and all. Sure, I'd be in to spend some time in Cerulean. Dunno about the mountains... kind of a risky place for bugs, but I could give it a shot. I got Snapdragon and Acacia, they should be able to deal with Rock-types."

Stephanie quickly declines, focused on finding her Komala. She off-handedly wishes Ruby & Co luck in their endeavors as everyone packs up and gets ready to head back to the Guild.

Freya gets her dowsing done for the day, and then retires to the guild for some well needed rest. The next morning, Freya is up early as usual to preach outside of the main guild building. Her pokemon also are about, and looking cute. Her Cutiefly flying about giving out pink dust, Popplio doing acrobatic tricks on its bubbles, Gothita looking cute while handing out flyers, and Eevee looking adorable/stoic by Freya's feet.

Once they get back to the Guild, Emil gets a little more time in to familiarize himself with his new Pokémon. The Ditto - Emil's started calling it Lime having been struck by a bad pun - gets to ooze around a bit and see some of the interesting bugs in the Bug Branch. That's Emil making a start on his promise to show it new things. Meanwhile Emil introduces himself to this rare Pokémon Sapphire gave to him, a little larva with giant jaws that the Poké Tome calls a Grubbin.
This is complicated by the fact that she and Snapdragon seem to have taken an instant dislike to each other. As far as Emil can tell, they're taking each other's presence as something of a challenge. "Hey, hey, no fighting!" Emil picks up Snapdragon, and the little flower claws his way up Emil's arm to his shoulder. "Ow, watch it! You two are gonna have to get along better, y'know. And you need to learn not to take it out on me when you're upset, huh?"
He crouches down in front of the Grubbin. "Amaryllis. For pride. Seems like a good name for you. But you're still gonna have to learn to play better with others. You don't sort yourself out, I'll do it for you. I don't gotta be nice." When the newly-dubbed Amaryllis makes to nip at his finger, Emil catches hold of her jaws. "What'd I just say? No biting 'less I tell you. You gotta be focused, right? We're gonna have to work on this in the morning."
Now if only he could be that forceful with Ruby.
True to his word, Emil gets up early in the morning again to train. Amaryllis and Lime get special focus as he starts teaching them his battling techniques, as does shy Violet, who still needs some work to catch up to Tulip and Snapdragon. Eventually, he's satisfied, and wanders back in for breakfast. He doesn't sit right up next to where Freya is preaching, but he's close by, in case she wants to join him when she's done. He also hasn't realized just yet that he has a doppelganger who has followed him in - until it switches forms into Freya and starts mimicking the genuine article's gestures as she speaks. "Oi, Lime, stop that!"
